FYI: i had a program "LogonUI Boot Randomizer" that was altering my kernel file thus not allowing Service Packs to be installed. The article in the above error message will walk you through the steps to fix it if you are having problems.

As i know SP3 doesn't exist in reality but in theory its all the latest security updates bunched up into one package for deployment but the distro on that was very limited.........
