i heard from the official website of the wii that if you bought the wii before December you could play dvds and cds but if you bought it after then you cant and theres no possible way to get it unless you mod it which might mess it up and also i'll try to find the site where it said that

Let me start by saying I'm like 99.9 percent sure this is fakery. The above picture is supposed to be of the Wii D, some sort of device, that judging by the looks of it, will play DVDs. Thing is, Nintendo has officially said they no longer plan to release a DVD player for the Wii.
I actually confirmed this at the New York event and it got lost in the sea of coverage. But just to be sure I checked back with Nintendo and they reiterated they currently have no plans to make a DVD player attachement for the Wii.
The lesson here, for all of you buddying photoshop players out there, is to check your rumors before you start creating fake images to pass around.

Here is the main problem with the fact that Nintendo might make this update. It will probably be a hardware update, meaning new wii's. For those of us who already own wiis, we will miss out on this.
