Wii DVD update soon?

I was just thinking if they have done a keyboard update what about a DVD/CD update and an update to use USB music/MP3 players.
What do you lot think and what about the internet channel?

Surely Nintendo dont have to do a dvd update as I'm pretty sure that nearly everyone has at least one appliance that plays dvds, come to mention it music as well. I think they should update the more important things first, or at least things to help game play and controls etc.

I agree, most people have them things.

What would be good would be a demo channel like the downloadstation for the DS. You could then just connect to the internet and download a trial of a new game.

you would have to pay for the update cause of the dvd licensing thingys, i dunno how much it is though, thays why for the xbox you need to buy the dvd remote to play dvds so they can keep the cost of the console down, i think :S

Yep - hit the nail on the head.
The reason why Nintendo aren't focusing on DVD playback is because of DVD licensing royalites which apparently cost a bomb.
