Steam Friend List

Yowza,

Ok im not that new but i need an answer to this, how the fuck do you use the friends list, like i log in, but ntohing comes up just th epoeple that are offline, and there is no listings under the friends tab int the server search...I have heard on steamsupport.com that a certain port has to be open? in this true? Let em know if u guys have any issues with it. i need to get it workign so i can contact the KOT's

Well I don't know too many people that are experts with the friends list. I have been trying to research on the internet to find a way to automatically log on to the friends network when I play a game, otherwise it seems your friends can't find you. I just can't find any good information about the friends network anywhere, including Steam. But then again, I am a noob.

just try to sign in. its really a piece of shit platform taht
is down a lot of the time. if your list is all offline, then it
just means they got booted and havent re-signed in.

best thing to do is get up with someone who also has like
yahell or AIM and connect to a server and check the status
that way just to make sure its working.

usually about 95% of my list is "offline".....

Well really if you think about it, the only thing it's good for is two things:

1) Sending IM's to your friends
tip: don't do it. I don't like it while I'm playing

2) finding what server your buddies are on
tip: screw friends list....woot.com or gametiger.com is better
