Resolved : Powersupply brick "humms" when in standby

When I put my Wii in standby mode (red LED), the power supply brick starts to make some "humming" noice.
When the LED is in orange or green the power supply is quiet.

Have heard the similar humm from other power supplies, guess the reason
is badly chosen cpacitor and ferrits values for the current load.

Anyone else that has this?

no i have never had this... it sounds odd.. and scarey given that there is mains voltage flowing into that thing!

Happens to me sometimes but not often, what i do is just unplug it from the mains and then plug it back in and then its back to normal. Hope that helps a bit

THat must get really annoying....did that start when you 1st got the wii?

Got in contact with them, looks like they will replace it.

no i started a few weeks after but its going away now cuz didnt happen for a while must hav been because i left my wii actually on (green light) over a few nights

Just a quick couple of corrections.

Red Light = Off. Not Standby.

Orange = Standby (WiiConnect24 is on)

Green = On/In Use

Just a quick couple of corrections.

Red Light = Off. Not Standby.

Orange = Standby (WiiConnect24 is on)

Green = On/In Use

It's more Yellowish than Orange to me.. Not that it matters much anyways
