No Texture Glitch

For some of you guys with under-performing computers and internet.. I have a nice little tip for you. This may not be something you want to do but it helps a lot with Latency issues and Load times. You can remove the texture from your maps!

1. Go to your Combat Arms folder.
2. Go to the "Game" folder in your combat arms folder.
3. Look for the file named "TEXTURES.rez"*
4. Pull it out of the "Game" folder and put it on your desktop.** DO NOT DELETE IT!!!
5. Start game and wallah!

*The file will be named exactly as said, Don't pull out any other file.
**Be sure to put it back in the folder before any patches!

If you did it right it should look like this:

Pros:

• Faster Load Times. (Loads twice as fast)
• Less In Game Lag.
• Less Hit Box Issues.
• Easier to see other players.

Cons:

• Tree's and Bushes are Impossible to see past. (As seen in my picture)
• May get annoying to some people.
• Can be confusing if you don't know the map.
• Snow turns into triangles. (As seen in my picture)

This will ONLY affect the maps, nothing is different, it will not change menu's or anything!

I hope this helps some people. No this will not screw up your game, I use this and It works fine for me.

When I did this my load times were literally cut in half, I NEVER lag, and hit-box issues almost completely disappeared.

It doesn't change the game play at all.. If you think about it, it makes it more fun.

Hit-box issues are not fun.. unloading a full clip on someones back and not having them die is not fun. Getting headshots on a guy and not having them register even though you can clearly see the blood spurt from the headshot is not fun. Lag is not fun.. lol

I stopped playing as much because of the hit-box issues, as soon as I found out you could do this I started playing more because the fun was back.

i like the texture..plus i have an AlienWare high performance computer (that i won in a MapleStory contest) so i dun need it. Oh and the snowflakes would be quite the annoyance.

i use crucial.com to tell me upgrades i can make to my computer

Buying a whole new computer Pros:
you have a fresh start
you have less chance of breaking it..

Cons:
ALLLOTTT more money
could break down and not worth your money

Or get some more RAM. The more RAM you have, the faster it loads, and it loads a lot faster, and I mean it. When I had 512mb RAM, it would often take 10-20 seconds to get started. But when I got 4GB RAM (AUD$65/USD$42), it loaded every time, under 5 seconds. Or just get a new computer.

Some people have more important things to spend their money on. This is if money IS a factor..

For me I need a Car and a new Bass, (Car $3500, Bass $500) If I have extra money I'm going to pick up 2GB of ram but for now.. I use this method.
