"X-OOM Software, a leading publisher of digital media software for mobile devices, has launched X-OOM Movies on Wii.

Nintendo fans will breathe a sigh of relief as movies and TV shows can now be converted for playback on their TV via the Wii.

X-OOM’s latest software, supporting the MJPEG codec, allows for perfect quality playback. Simply run the DVD on a PC and save the file using ‘Movies on Wii’ to the appropriate format; once this is complete, transfer the file to the Wii using an SD memory card.

With a number of editing options including an ‘Expert Mode’, you can also cut and back up individual scenes and whole movies as you wish. With help from X-OOM’s Fit-To-Stick technology, movies can be automatically loaded onto the memory card in a short, simple process using only the space that is available.

X-OOM Movies on Wii offers extensive support of video formats including DivX®, XviD, MPEG2, MPEG4, WMV etc."

Well, if you have a huge HD television, it would be worth it to move the file from your computer to your Wii for playback on the TV.

Personally, I don't see myself using this but it's a step forward.

Oh definatly if i had a HD tv, but then that begs the question, how good would the quality be especially on a screen that size, if you have to fit the movie file on your SD card? Haha!

Rather a HD DVD player, if they were cheaper :(

mmm *me goes and finds a torrent* Right.

Screen = Small (I have a 32inch High Def)
Converting makes the movies over a gig (i have 2 gb card)
Quality is Crap.
And it takes forever to convert the damn movies

All in all.
Wait for something proper!
