Seems as though you have stumbled onto a relatively good deal there. You can always build it yourself cheaper though

Dell wont cover the warrenty for 1 year if I build it from parts :(

my kids computer went out to lunch the other day and I dont feel like tracking down the install CD's, so Im gona give them my 2.6 vaio with the 128ddr 4xAGP card and get somthing with balls for myself.

the retail on that box from Dell is about $3,000 to the door (take off $400 for the monitor im not getting, and another $100 for the printer im not getting. so its like -$1000 off retail for fairly current gear.

thanks, I just wanted to get a 2nd or 3rd opinion, I always jump the gun on computers, I read up for a day or 2 then jump on somthing. I built out a couple custom systems online between $14,000 (alienwere with the 7.1 headset, 21" monitor, ect ect) to $1,900 dell (new ones just like this are 30% off on the web site) Since I'm still a big fan of "Steve" and in honor of him getting busted smokin pot and losing his job as spokesperson, I wanted to say "Dude, I'm gettin' a Dell" Im guessing it will ship out tuesday next week, so I should have it burned in and loaded by friday.

anyone want to make me an offer on crashed a e-machine? (I will dig up the install disks, drivers, all origional paperwork, and licences for win XP and the video card.

1.3 celeron
256 ram (I think, I doubt I put 512 in it, but I think it can take 1gig 2slots)
128ddr pci Nvidia5200 (best card I could get for it at best buy with a pci slot)
120gig? maby toast?
new dvd-r (walmart special last month)

I will put it up on Ebay after I get my new box, I will do free S/H if the buyer comes from the forum.( im on the east coast, so if you live in Texas, Im gona spend $40+ to get it to you insured)

I think I was getting 50fps with smoke turned all the way down but I have not used it in almost 2 years, but my 11 year old son would play CZ now and again on it.

please only put up an offer you can back up with a paypal transfer right now. if I think its a fair offer I will skip ebay and ship it out.

well no email with my shipping tracking, GHEY! its not going out till wednsday at the soonest :(

Sad I can probably get Viagra delivered to my door from India faster than Dell can ship out a computer that was saposadly already built.

Im just fiending for 72fps (max refresh rate on my 19" lcd) and not droping to 13 when I rush through smoke nades.

not to mention trying CSs and getting better than 40fps, Saposidly this system and card should let me hit 100+ fps in the current Quake and HL2 acording to the benchmark tests.

Thats about 1000 in parts if you go with a 3.0e prescott, a decent overclocking motherboard and all quality parts, including a 6800GT(better vid card)

http://www.churchel.com/images/monicap4.bmp

That one there was without trying too hard, 1GB corsair performance ram, 3.0e prescott 478. She upgraded a 2.53 P4 with 512MB ram.

I must say the comp does run damn well, I am impressed.

well I pissed and complained enough to them about not shiping it last week I guess. I got an email with tracking tonight that it will be here Thursday (2nd day air). Knowing me I will have my games installed within the 1st hour, be playing them that night, and not configure the email, and user acounts for a month.

LOL Dad! Glad your getting a new comp. The thing about Dell is that they don't actually have the computers they show online. They have all the parts and don't start putting it together till they get an order. So once they charge your credit card and know that they got your money, they tell the guys in the warehouse to build it. Most people don't know this, but Dell items actually only stay in stock for about 2-4 hrs before they are put into someone's new shiny computer. 2-4 HOURS! Talk about short shelf time....

I want one of those dual processor machines they have at Dell now. The Dimension 9100! Looks sweet and not that much more than a single core processor machine!

I'd like to --- have YIM, MSN, AIM, winamp, 2 firefoxes, CZ in a window, and have a CD burning all at the same time....and maybe an episode of the simpsons on mute down in the corner.
