If, and only if

I wrote this story quite some time ago on Wc3campaigns, and it didn't end up bad. I guess I could post it here again to fill this section a bit up :p

<div align="center">---</div>

Rain? Is that what I felt? Those sudden drops that fell from out of nowhere; is it rain? I must see it for myself... but why... why are my eyes so heavy... and why does my chest hurt. Exactly the part between my ribs, as if someone managed to outclass me in speed and stuck a fresh blade between my ribs. No, that must be impossible. No one can outclass me in speed, no human, no creature, nothing can; at least, not in battle. But... why, does it hurt? And what are those wet drops I feel? I cannot recall I was brought inside, as a matter of fact, I cannot even remember what I was doing and I..." my thoughts were forcefully interupted when I could hear a young girl screaming for her mother. Out of shock, the pain temporarily dissapeared and I opened my eyes and rotated my head in an instant to where the sound came from, the tears that were rolling from my eyes, that I thought was "rain" flew from my face as I turned. "Tears"?

"Mom! The man woke up!" I could hear the girl shout as she ran away while still being confused on the tears on my cheeks. Were those my own? I could not see past the wooden door that was closed the moment she closed it. It was clear that this house was made of several floors, I could hear her running down on the stairs. While I looked at the door, I knew that I was not crying, my eyes were not wet, but salt-water rolled down my face, as if I have just lost the most precious person in the world. I looked back to the door moments afterwards, wondering why the girl ran away and surprised that she was still running on the high stairs. Slowly, but eventually, the sound dissipated and I could hear soft voices mentioning about something like "he's awake" and "he opened his eyes". Could it be that they were talking about me?
If I look to the right from the bed I am lying on I can see the door, but what about left? A closed window is giving me sight of the world beyond it. I can also see a small house located on the other side and I see some animals walking around freely. This must be a farm where I am located, but why such childish curtains? Little bears are painted on it and I see some dolls in the corner, a childs room? It must be, an adult doesn't have such things.

...I should try to stand up. I am being a bother here, I did not ask to be brought here, and speaking of which, how did I come here anyway? But first standing up. That's my first priority, standing up. Turning my head, moving my hands behind me to support me and then move my weight so I can. "Agh!" I could hear myself saying. As if I'm not the same person, I can hear myself grunting, I don't feel the pain, but my body can... and... the room is spinning...

---

"Are you okay, mister?" a childish but friendly voice asked me. I opened my eyes yet again, this time easier, not with the help of anyone, but out of my own free will. I once again, turned my head and saw a little blonde girl sitting only inches away from me.
"W... where am I?" was all I could ask before my head starting spinning again. I instantly closed my eyes the moment after, as if it was a reflex that my body couldn't handle the pressure.
"You're at mom's farm" the girl answered me, with an innocent smile crossing her face. Only moments after she finished her sentence, she pushed some of my hair out of my face to see me more clearly. "Are you OK now?" the girl repeated her question to me. "It is clear that I am dealing with a young girl here, a young girl, not understanding what happened... but, I don't know what happened either" was all I could think of. I opened my eyes once again and turned back to her, and softly asked if this was her room. A small nod was all that answered me.
"I... I'll get... out" was what I could blurt out but I knew that I was unable to move. If I couldn't even keep my eyes open, then moving was out of the question.
"Should I bring my mother?" the girl suddenly asked me, not hesitating a moment when she saw that I was trying to touch the place where it hurted the most. I tried to nod to answer the girl, but I was even too weak to do that. Before I knew it, I lost conciousness yet again.

---

This time I woke up with my head towards the window and I saw it wasn't noon anymore. The sun has gone down and a beautiful full moon was on the place now. "Was the girl still here? This was her room!" I managed to think of as I quickly turned my head, but I saw in the moon light that she wasn't here anymore. "But perhaps I should try to stand up again?" was what gone through my mind and before I knew it. I sat up straight in the bed, not making any hard movement.
I turned my head back left and watched the window once again to confirm it for myself that it was night, and that I could freely explore the house if I had the strength. As if I still wasn't in control of my body I stood up and took a final look at the window.
"A girl" I managed to say when I looked out the window. I saw a teenage girl sitting against a haystack outside. She was playing a harmonica and I could hear it here. It was a song that sounded familiar in my ears, I could not control myself to listen from a closer area. I quickly looked around to find some clothes as I find a small shirt and some pants. I quickly put them on as I walked towards the exit of the room and nearly ran down the stairs while trying not to make enough sound to wake up anyone.
When downstairs it took me only a moment to find the door that was the only obstacle to come outside. As quiet as possible, as I was trained, I opened the door, not disturbing her music.
At that moment I noticed it, the running around was definitely taking its toll on my not-yet-recovered body and I had to use all effort to keep standing. I quickly pushed my back against the wall as I stood firm against it. A third leg, to keep myself standing and listen to the beautiful song she was making with the harmonica.

"So... familiar" I was able to softly speak to myself. I was out of her sight and I could only barely see her from the place I accidentally placed myself, but I could hear the tune very clearly. It was beautiful, and so familiar to my ears. Did I hear the full song elsewhere? This girl was repeating the same few tunes over and over, as if she couldn't remember the rest of the song.
While I was thinking about the song, I clearly forgot that my body was tired and still injured, regardless, I did not collapse, as a matter of fact, I stood firm and it looked more like I was recovering faster and faster. "I am sure I am at the point of moving again" I was able to think of, while I tried to move yet again. But like I was watching from afar, my body ignored my order and just stood firm, my body even stopped breathing for a short moment.
That exact moment I could hear the girl loudly sigh, as if she was tired from the same tunes over and over. "Naturally, I would be annoyed as well if I like a song but can only remember the same tune" I thought to myself, showing that I understood well enough what she meant.
In my bad position I could still see what she was doing as I looked at her. She looked at the harmonica as she sighed again. She had a sad look on her face as she placed the harmonica to her lips again only to create an unwanted tune. Sighing and playing the harmonica is not a good combination. But from the distance she and I were, I could not see the tear she pushed away with her left hand, as she took a deep breath and placed her lips against the harmonica again.

"If, and only if I could" I sang with the song without that I even noticed it. My body ignored my orders of standing still as well, I seemed to walk to her in a very slow pace. She was also clearly shocked that someone was there and perhaps even more shocked that that person sang at the tune she was playing. It was clear that she decided to test me as you play another tune on her harmonica. My body reacted with another complet of the song by answering with, "If I could become immortal" and she tried it again which I answered with the right complet again, "If you could see me..." but it was also the last tune she knew how to play, I apparently made a gesture of, 'all together now' as she played the few tunes after each other, in the right combination.

"If, and only if I could...
If I could become immortal...
If you could see me..."
Unfortunaly, that was all the tunes she knew, but I knew the song and comfortably continued to sing.
"If, and only if you could see me...
We would stay together...
In an eternal life...
A life filled with happiness and joy...
A life of immortality...
A life of immortality..."

I looked at her with a friendly smile after finishing the last word from the song. "'If' from the Eyes of the Empire" I told her, with a friendly smile crossing my face.
Her eyes sparkled, she was probably waiting for someone to know the song, to learn her the other tunes that were available. She looked like she was ready to thank me in any way, but 'who are you' could also be read out of her expression. Of course, it could not be denied, the first question she asked was who I am. But the moment she asked, I asked her the same question. A small laugh came out of us as she made a somewhat more stern face, answering:
"I'm Claes"

After asking the same question at the very same moment we both shocked each other a bit. The short blonde hair of the girl fell a bit forward and covered her face a bit, instantly she pushed the few hairs away with her hand. It was clear to me that the girl was not expecting to hear the exact same question from the person that she doesn't know at all - not to mention that I sang the song she played. Seeing her beautiful blue eyes sparkle as much as that time is a moment I cannot forget easily, no matter what I do. Seeing someone as excited and as happy at the same time as that is a rare sight indeed.
Fortunately her shocked state quickly dissapeared and a small laugh came into the place. A big relief for me, it wasn't my intention at all to scare her, but I could not control myself. I'm sure I would've mistaken her for a man instead of a young girl like this if I could not see her face. Her hair was cut short and she didn't really look very feminine to me, regardless, her face made much of a difference.

"I'm Claes" she suddenly replied to my question with a more stern expression on her face. Her sudden answer caught me off-guard and I started noticing the pain between my ribs and vision became blurry again. "Was I still not in the condition to walk?" Were the words that suddenly floated through my mind. Because her skills with the harmonica, my sudden singing and the small funny effect we made took my mind completely off my injuries, but the sudden answer she gave certainly did remind me of the pain I actually had.
"Falling to the ground without giving a proper introduction isn't my favorite style of a meeting with someone" was I still managed to think off as I regained my pose of standing. I straighted my back, made a friendly smile crossing my face and finally I moved my lips.
"Claes? That isn't much of a name for a girl" I managed to mention, eventhough knowing that I actually had to use more effort to remain standing. I was also afraid that I would insult her by saying that her name wasn't very feminine.
Apparently, she wasn't insulted at all, as yet another smile crossed her face, showing that she found my remark funny. She crawled up and smiled at me yet again.
"My parents couldn't decide a name, and they were more interested in having an other son than a daughter" she suddenly replied to my question. "But," followed not much after her first sentence, "but, you still haven't answered my question" she told me with a smile on her face.
"My name?" I answered cooly, trying not to fall because I was lacking energy. "It can't be, I cannot lose my conscious in a conversation in-... who knows how long I've been here" a part of my mind screamed at me, trying to keep me concentrated.
"Uh... sir are you..." that was all I could hear before I felt my muscles weaken inside of me and it was only a matter of time before my legs stopped supporting my body.

---

"Uh... sir are you..." was the last thing I heard before I suddenly saw the window where I could overlook the farm from again. "The room of the little girl" came to mind, as I managed to look the other side, the side of the old wooden door. "But yet again I could feel wet spots on my face. As if I was placed in the rain and-..." my thoughts were cruely interupted by a sudden flash of lightning. I quickly turned my head back to the window because of the sudden flash. Thanks to the hard rain, the furious lightning and dark clouds, I was not able to tell if it was morning, noon, evening or night, whichever it was, I was awake.
Being calmed down from the lightning, I managed to turn my head back to the door-side expecting any moment for someone to come in. It was as if someone was standing against the door, even though no sign showed that anyone was there, I just could tell that somebody was there.
"Could it be Claes, the girl I met outside? Or perhaps it is that little girl, I am in her room after all... I wonder where she is sleeping" were some of the thoughts that roamed through my mind. But wherever my thoughts dreamt of to, my mind kept coming back to Claes, the girl with the weird name. "Actually, I know very little about her, I only know her name" were the words that crossed my mind. Before I knew it, I fell back into sleep.

---

"Be careful! It's still hot!" I suddenly heard a girl voice yelling.
"More girls, I already met Claes and that little girl and none of their voices matches this one" I managed to think of before I opened my eyes. Opening my eyes was apparently not the best idea as I got a loud scream of "don't look!" at me and a painful hit in my face which was more than enough to send me back dreaming again. I did managed to see a very littled clothed girl around my age, with blonde hair, but I was not even able to see her face. "For all I know it was Claes who has a cold, but after all this time, I lost my complete track of the time and I am not even aware how long I already am here, in this bed," unfortunately, after the hit in my face, I lost my conciousness again.

---

I woke up yet again watching the window. "It was getting a trusting feeling after seeing it this often. The sun that watched me during the day and the moon that would guard over me during the night with sometimes a little rain to make a small variation. Even though I am sure I can stand up, I don't think I can walk much, but every little movement should be enough to get my back into shape" I managed to think off with my eyes closed as I heard an old door opening. It was clearly not my room, but perhaps the room next to this one.
It took only a moment before I heard a small conversation with a familiar voice. I stopped breathing unnecessary and tried to listen as carefully as possible of what they say. Learning rather fast that it was a boy and a girl, after hearing their voices at least once.
"Claes, did the man already wake up once?" a voice said, it certainly didn't sound like a girl, so it must have been a boy.
"Now, how many people have I met now? The little girl, Claes, the girl that hit me and now this voice. At least 3 girls and one boy? There is also supposed to be a mother, but I have yet to meet her" was everything I could think of. Slowly but eventually I could see myself lying on the bed, slowly recovering from any kind of injuries I had.
"No, after Caitlin said that he woke up and wanted to get out and Laura punched him, he hasn't woken up afterwards" I could hear Claes say. Did I dreamt that I met Claes? Or doesn't she want to say it? "Have you seen any difference in his condition, Alex?" Claes added to the boy who is apparently named 'Alex'.
"At least their parents have a boy, I wonder if Claes was an accident or something" I managed to think off before I got all quiet again to hear Alex's response to Claes.
"No, Caitlin isn't letting me into her room remember? After I broke her aquarium, she isn't letting me into her room again" the boy clearly explained.
"Of course, how could I forget" Claes responded with, she sounded very uninterested in what Alex is saying.
I didn't even have to be careful with my breathing style, without any warning the boy started yelling at her that could easily be heard in my room.
"Of course you forgot! You're barely ever home! I don't know where you're always hanging out, but it looks as if you are trying to avoid Dad and me!" the boy screamed, loud enough for me to hear it clearly. Without any doubt in my body, I automaticly stood up and stumbled towards the door, using every object to keep myself standing and walking, it took several moments before I reached the door and followed the sound of this, 'Alex' who was still yelling at her.
But even though I wanted to help Claes, I never have seen this hall before, except that I rushed outside, but I didn't bother to really look around. Luckily, I could hear where the sound came from, and I could follow that.

The sound came from where I thought it would come from, right next to my room. Left of my room was a room as well, but it was very clear that the sound wasn't coming from there.
Even though the room was only a several seconds-walk from the little girl's room, who was apparently called Caitlin, it looked as if I was taking a long time to reach the room, and was reliefed when I could finally rest my hand on the doorknob. I nearly used all of my remaining strength of turning the firm doorknob to open the door, but even though my first try failed, my second try was successful and I pushed the wooden door open where I could find Claes and this boy named, Alex.

With a loud sound and a wide swing, I threw the door open and quickly pushing my hands to the side of the wall in case I would lose my energy again and would fall to the ground, like last time with Claes.
What I expected to be a young-teenager I found that I was very wrong to see a man standing in front of me who was clearly a full head taller than me and his body looked a lot more impressive than mine, excluding the fact that I'm injured. I quickly took a small view to Claes to see her looking just as surprised as this Alex at me, but in opposite of Alex, she had a small sign of being slapped. Injured or not, it was enough to refill me with enough energy to stand up properly and have a nice-little-talk with mr. Alex here.
Alex's sight went down because he was taller than me and a grin appeared on his face. "Who might ye' be lil' man?" he asked me as he slowly approached me.

After a long time of what I can remember, I felt fear coming up in my body...

With using all my strength, I was finally able to open the wooden door. Was it that heavy? Probably not, but I didn't have any energy to spare. But if I would use every little bit of energy I had, then it was no doubt that I would fall back to the ground out of exhaustion - and that wouldn't help Claes any little bit. Learning the reason why that 'Alex' was shouting was a priority as well.
When opening the door I expected to see a completely different view than I had in mind. 'Expecting to see some kind of kid-trying-to-be-tough under my age' was what I had in mind, but instead, I found somoene who was a full head taller than me and his arm was about the double of my, or Claes' arm. Even though I can't say I'm muscular, I thought I was a bit better than this.
After my sight of awe was finished about this Alex, my vision quickly went to Claes, only to see that she placed her hand on her cheek and tried to get out of my direct sight. "Why" was the first thing that came to mind, and it was what I wanted to ask as well, if Alex didn't ask something before I did.
"Who might ye' be, lil' man" he asked in a flat tone - as if he never had a proper education. Would Claes, and the other 2 girls talk as flat as he did, then I wouldn't mind, but they talked properly.

"Leave him alone, Alex. He's the injure-" Claes was saying, only to be interupted by the man named Alex.
"Ah, so he is the injured one. Great, then I can ask who he is while I'm at it" Alex answer while he moved his hand through the place where usually your hair would be. Unfortunately for Alex, he was bold and for some reason, it looked as if he didn't seem to notice. He was aggresively searching for hair on the bald head of his with his right hand. Eventually he gave up, and placed full concentration in me.
"While you're at it?" I managed to say in a more painful voice than I actually planned. 'At least the sarcastic tone was still in it' I was able to hear and think, but it still didn't come out as I wanted'. 'I was supposed to be the model of confidence, not as weak as this' I was able to think of, "but I don't think it will be necessary how I talk. If the situation unfolded the way I think it was, I'm so going to kick his a-" while thinking, I was interupted by the answer of Alex.
"You're in the room of Claes, and I don't think you're welcome, mr... eh..." Alex mentioned, clearly waiting for an answer.
"Lince," I mentioned in a more normal voice, apparently getting used to the injured body and accepting the pain. A little smile crossed my face that was aimed at Claes, but her face was still not looking at me. "Embarassment?" was the only thing I could think of, but I didn't know Claes good enough to make an accurate answer for myself. "Why did I come here anyway?" I added to my previous question in thoughts.
"Well then, Lince. I suggest you go back to your bed and leave me here to talk with Claes" Alex bluntly told me with a large grin on his face. He was clearly enjoying the misery of Claes, and I didn't even know who he is. He did seem to take the responsibility of Claes leaving the house, if I heard it right that is. "A brother perhaps? He's too young to be her father, so perhaps it is her brother... or maybe her boyfriend? But does that mean they are living together in the same house with the family of Claes" too many thoughts were floating through my mind. By the intensive thinking I could feel the energy being drained away from my legs once again and I was ready to fall again. "No, not now! Not here!" I managed to think as I grabbed the doorknob again so I wouldn't fall.

"Hey, are you okay?" Alex asked me as he rose his pace and walked at me to keep me standing. He clearly had to bow a little, and that was everything I need.
I grabbed him at the edge of his shirt and moved it him closer to my face, trying to remain out of the sight from Claes.
"Your... relationship with Claes. What is it?" I managed to whisper at him from close range. Hostality could clearly be heard in my voice as I asked him, preparing my left arm if his answer wouldn't be satisfactory for me.
"Friend" he whispered in return, and released his self from my weak - and becoming weaker with a rapid pace - grip. I answered him with a confused look, and I could feel my conciousness falling away again. Using strength to get him near me just enough to push me to my limit.
I closed my eyes and I heard Claes asking in a worried tone, "what happened?" before everything become black before my eyes.

---

Darkness was all I could see. For some reason I could hear people mumbeling around me, but I could not open my eyes to see who it was. I could not concentrate to hear them better either, it was as if I was undergoing a heavy medic's actions. Being tied to a bed, eyes remain closed and they try to keep me still. But, it was different. If I really was at a medic, I would not hear them in mumbeling tones, and I must've heard that I was being moved to somewhere else.
But even though I cannot see, I am not able to move either. Not a finger, not a toe and it even looked like I wasn't breathing either. I was not controlling everything, and my body just lay there... somewhere. "Wait!" echoed through my mind. "It looks like I'm not breathing"? I took a final check and it really didn't look like I was breathing. I tried to listen to the mumbeling voices again and I could suddenly hear people screaming to each other. As if they were worried about me. "But why would they be? They don't know me" I managed to think of, until I got back to the point that my body wasn't breathing.
"But, if it wasn't breathing, then why could I clearly think? Why could I hear myself? Why can I even consider that I am not breathing? Is it because I lost my life and am now waiting until Lady Aceci is going to send someone to come and get me?" were some of the thoughts that flew through my mind.
While I was under influence of my mind, I could suddenly see a little light and I saw my body from a different view for the first time.

I was lying on a bed and 6 people were surrounding me. I could easily recognize the bear of a man, Alex, and I had no trouble recognizing the stranged-named girl, Claes either. Claes had the arm of Alex pushed against her as she looked at my apparently, lifeless body. I could finally see the little Caitlin, who's room I was sleeping in there too. She was looking at me, not knowing what was going on. Her blond hair was still short and only two pony-tails could easily be recognized from her. She was looking very childish as usual, and as I could remember her.
The third girl I could see, was different from the others. In opposite of the little girls not knowing- and Claes' sadness, the girl was looking at me like she didn't care. Her long blond hair reminded me of the girl who I saw a bit of before I was hit in the face and lost concious again. Finally, I could see her more properly and her body was so very different from Claes, who've I met earlier.
As a matter of fact, in opposite of everyone in this house I met, she looked quite busty and seemed to care a lot about her outgoing-appearance. The clothes she wore were the complete opposite of Claes as well. "As if it was a story. The not-knowing, the shy, the outgoing and the strong one" I managed to think of as I looked through them.
The clearly, older woman among them must have been the mother of the 3 girls. She was busy using all kind of medic equipment on my body. But if I already stopped breathing, it wouldn't mind anymore.
As I looked closer to the mother, I could see a boy sitting there on the ground, looking at me with a unknown look on his face, like the younger girl, Caitlin. His short blond hair reminded me of myself when I was his age. My black hair was as short as his and while he looked unknowingly, I usually looked uninterested, the expression was not too far apart from each other.
My sight went back to the mother, who was dressed with a white colored jacket and a brown skirt. Her color hair was also completely different from the 3 girls, her brown hair was very remarkable among them, seeing as they were all blond. She also looked a lot more feminine than most of them, even though the girl named Laura looked quite feminine as well. It was mostly Claes who looked very non-feminine.
"What the...? What am I thinking about anyway?" shot through my mind all of a sudden as my vision instantly went to my suddenly moving body. "Was I alive?" went through my mind, but I was wrong. The mother was trying to use several techniques to keep my breathing, but they didn't seem very useful. Not was it just hard to get a clean look at my face because of my long black hair which constantly fell back in front of my eyes, it was also a nearly useless action as my body was already cooling down.

"Let me help!" Alex suddenly blurted out, that clearly shocked me. He ran at my body and tried to help the mother in every way he could. For some reason, I could feel the places they were touching, but I was already here for awhile. "Does that mean I could be saved? Or does this mean it already is too late? If it was already too late, I wanted to thank them at least, and I-..." I was suddenly cruely interupted by a light that shined in my face. A light that was asking me to come near it, a light that was asking to follow it... 'death?' I asked before I started moving towards it.
I walked passed the bed and could see 4 dissapointed faces who were trying to keep my body alive. Only the busty girl named Laura and the younger boy didn't seem to care much. The boy had either no idea what was going on, or didn't care. "I hope that he doesn't care" flew through my mind. "The less people who are sad about my demise, the better it is" answered something in my mind as I stretched my arm, to reach the light that was calling out for me.
As I stretched my arm, I could feel freedom and a relaxed feeling surrounding me, a feeling I yearned for a long time. From the moment that Jade and I left our home-village, I yearned for the free feeling. It was something I missed in my life, something I couldn't deny, something I couldn't live without - and now, it was in litterally in hand reach.
I tried to stretch my arm a little further as I could feel the feeling slowly taking over my weak body that was getting weaker every moment as I reached my arm.

"Lince!" I suddenly heard someone screaming, that clearly surprised me as I pulled my arm back again. My body and head quickly turned to where the sound came from, and I could see Claes standing near the edge of the bed. Whispering something that was not meant for anyone, but I could clearly hear it. "Does that mean I am no longer here in the lands of the living?" I asked myself as I tried to listen what she said.
"Before... you leave... learn me... that song" I could hear her whispering to me.

I looked back to the light that was ready to kindly embrace me and give me all the freedom I want. Within a second of time, I turned my back to the light once again and walked t my body, confident that I wouldn't die just yet.
The moment the light noticed that I was not planning of leaving just yet, it suddenly dissapeared, not ready to show itself again for many years... or that was what I hoped.

I felt that the expressions on the faces of the bystanders were looking more happy to my body as I lay there. As if I was showing any sign of life and- I was cruely interupted by a large yawn of myself. "Was I bored?" I asked myself as I looked at my hand, that was getting a bit transparant. "I'm dead, for sure" I mentioned to myself with a little smile crossing my face.
I closed my eyes again, and placed my head on the edge of the bed, the opposite side of Claes and lay there. Hoping that I could wake up again, watching out of the beautiful window, looking across the farm, hoping to see Claes sitting there again, waiting for someone to teach her that song.
Before I knew it, darkness surrounded me again, but this time, I felt confident that I would wake up with my head turned to the window.

Suddenly... I could feel pain in my side, enough pain to tear my mind apart. I could not understand why I suddenly felt so much pain. Everytime I woke up, I was in pain, but this was different. It was as if something was tearing me apart, something was hostile to me and wanted to crush me no matter what. "As if I've met an Ancient Dragon in combat" my thoughts mentioned.
"Pain?" I suddenly thought, remembering that I could see my own body lying on the bed - lifeless. "Was I alive again" my mind added to the previous statement.
Without any further thought, I was able to open my eyes. While I was expecting to see either the old wooden door, or the window with the beautiful view behind it, I saw something completely different.
I saw... I saw a huge open area filled with grass and a beautiful little river streaming through the middle of it. Behind me was it filled with the same grass and the river looked as if it surrounded me. The stream was heavy and fishes played within the river. "Where am I?" was the first thought that came to mind while seeing the beautiful enviorment. "Didn't I recover? Am I in the spirit realm?" my mind could only think of, worried that I didn't make it after all, that falling asleep on the edge of the bed was the last limit of my mind, and that transported me to the spirit realm behind the Crystal Gate.

"Lince, you really need to eat" I could suddenly hear out of nowhere. I looked around, but no one was around. I could hear birds sing, I could hear fishes swim and I could hear the wind blowing, but those familiar words were far more clearer than all other things I heard.
"Open wide" I could hear as well, as an addition to the last sentence. 'I am Lince, an adventurer who fell in combat' was something that floated in my mind, as if I lost control of my mind, instead of my body earlier.
Without any second thought, I ran to the place I could hear the sound come from. Although it was only for a moment I heard it, it was enough to search for it. Standing still, and enjoying the enviorment was nothing too pleasant either.

"Open your mouth Lince!" I could suddenly hear as my eyes flew open, scaring the person who was feeding me as I accidentally punched the bowl with food out of the hands and into the air - only to receive the bowl apparently filled with soup, on my head. The word of "damn" and "I must look a complete idiot" came to mind nearly instantly. Having a dripping bowl of soup on your head really doesn't give the best expression to the person in front of you.
It took a moment before my eyes adjusted to the sudden light in front of me, but the moment I could see, the person was feeding me already left. I could see the door closing, but I could not see the person who was feeding me.
I turned my head to the other side, to see where I was. I learned that I was in a different room then before. I remember being in a small wooden room with a small desk near the end and a large closet that surely took a quater of the room of space. In the right corner, a small box with puppets could be found and the floor was usually filled with all kind of toys. From puppets to books, it was clearly a childs room. This in opposite of it, looked completely different. While I could see numberous of child toys as well, they didn't look as if they were of a girl. "Perhaps this room is of the little boy I saw when I saw myself lying on that bed" floated through my mind, remembering that I saw a boy sitting near me awhile ago.

I crawled a bit up, clearly feeling stronger than the days before, but only a bit dizzy of lying on bed the entire time. But with a small push of my arms, I finally managed to stand up, standing straight and quickly grabbed hold to the bookcase that was only inches away from me.
The moment I touched the bookcase, I could hear the peeping sound of the door opening and a short moment later, someone opened the door and entered the room. A short haired man entered the room who was carrying a small sack filled with bottles and boxes.
"You must be Lince" he mentioned as he closed the door. My answer to that was only a little nod as I tried to gain more momentum of standing. "I am Ryan Huub, doctor of the village" he mentioned as he made a gesture of going to sit, what I quickly followed as I could feel myself being more dizzy at every moment.
A moment later, the doctor stood in front of me, kindly asking how I felt, a little word of 'fine' was all he got from me. Apparently, he wasn't satisfied with it and went into details by asking about if anything hurts. I placed my hand on my left ribs, where it felt like something was hanging inbetween. After touching it, the doctor decided to check it out and used his hand to feel the body part, a tickelish feeling, but it was to be expected.

Several moments later, and after I mentioned that I was feeling fine further, he left again, leaving me alone in the room until a bald muscular man entered. "Alex," I unexpectedly said in a tone that even surprised myself. A smile of him was my answer, as he asked me if I was OK, where only a little nod of mine was to answer of him.
"Thank lord Malathander" Alex mentioned, showing that he a lot of weight fell from his shoulders and that he clearly was relieved of hearing that I was feeling well. "I... eh... I'm sorry what happened the other day" he mentioned as he looked at me with sad eyes and a apology in his tone of words.
A small smile crossed my face, exactly remembering what he meant, "don't worry about it" I mentioned as I looked him in the eyes with a more friendly tone than usual in my words.
"You know Lince... I didn't notice before, but your two eye colors are different from each other" Alex mentioned while pointing a finger in my face that was quickly pushed away by my rising left hand. "The one is the usual green color, but the other one looks more like it is an emerald in your eye" Alex added to it, looking like he was planning of pulling that "emerald" out of my skull.
"I know, it was something people liked when I was a kid" I mentioned while looking in the eyes of Alex.
"You still be a kid, aye" Alex said with a broad smile crossing his face, clearly showing that it wasn't meant serious, but in a way, he was right. I was only 17 years old and Alex was in every possible way bigger and probably more superior.
Finally, after a moment of peace, I rose my left hand and brought it to my face, seeing a little scar in the middle of my hand. Not remembering that I had a scar on my hand, I looked up to Alex who was already looking with a sad face to it. "Don't ask" he mentioned as I started moving my lips, planning of asking about the scar.
"It isn't just there, Lince" Alex carefully mentions, looking not to insult me. My reply was only a touch to my left ribs, knowing that Alex was pointing to that.
"Anyway, you go to sleep, Lince. We'll wake you up in time for dinner. It'll be best if you'll rest now" Alex softly says, while turning back to the door, and only moments later opening it.
"Window..." I soflty mumbled before he left. There was a window in the room, but on the opposite side of the room, not easily reachable, especially not from the bed. But Alex was right, and I should rest for now.

---

Without knowing it, I slept through 2 days straight and people were feeding me to keep me alive. A worthy effort, but futile was it in my opinion. If I was in the condition of needing large amounts of rest, then I must have been in a very bad condition. "I wonder what happened" was what I thought as I kept sleeping. While sleeping, more thoughts gone through my mind like, "why did they save me?" or "what happened to Jade, my companion" were only some of the thoughts I could not find an answer of. But, the moment I met Claes outside at the hay stacks was a moment I could not forget while sitting here. Hearing the royal song of 'If, and only if' again, not to mention singing it was something I could not forget.
"I could hear the tunes clearly, as if I could hear someone playing it at this very moment, but I was surely just dreaming. I was in need of all the rest I could get, but-" my thoughts were clearly interupted by a sudden reopening of my eyes as I woke up and instantly sat straight, being far more agile than I could remember I was.

"No doubt," I was hearing yet another familiar tune of the harmonica, though this time not 'If, and only if' but the song called, 'an Ice Castle' which I learned as well when I was a child. It was a song that was sung by all bards and a song well known for the people who was born in the same village as I was. "We were raised with that song" I managed to think off. The moment the tune stopped, my mind stopped thinking and I stood up, walking to the window again, seeing the expected view.
Claes was sitting against the pile of hay again, playing the harmonica with closed eyes, though this time not alone. But Alex was sitting next to her, listening to the few tunes she could play with full interest as if he was under influence of it. A soft smile was crossing his face again, "and they are friends" flew through my mind suddenly and unexpected.
While I turned around, wanting to walk back to my bed, I could feel some hair covering some of my face all of a sudden. "Has my hair grew so long in such a short time" I managed to think of as I touched my hair, confirming it was really there.
I turned around, trying to see my reflection in the mirror and I was stunned of what I saw.

I was standing there, shirtless and far more muscular than I could remember myself, I could move a lot easier than before, I had less restrictions in my body. My hair grew longer, my left emerald colored eye was far more clear and I suddenly was filled with a number of scars I could not remember before. The one on my forehead, my ribs, a small one on my right part of my chest, several smaller ones on my legs and a clear one in the middle of my left hand. I did not look like the same Lince anymore as I remembered. My body changed, my personality changed, my behavior is twisted and my eye sight increased several notches.
"What happened to me?"

While seeing my reflection in the window I was shocked to see myself. I was taller and far more muscular than I was when I started traveling. "Did I changed during my travels" came to mind, but it was impossible. I traveled for a few months, changes of that size are impossible. But it wasn't just that I suddenly had a far more muscular body, I could feel myself being far more agile than before, I could easily bend my back, what I couldn't do before, or at least not as far as this. Not being able to bend it that much caused me a lot of problems when I was in battle because I could not evade all kinds of attacks.
But even though my body looked more muscular, the largest chance was my hair style. My hair was far longer than I could remember it was and my left eye, which has always been brighter than before was now very remarkable, it was far brighter than an emerald where the sun was smiling upon - bright enough to embarrass me if someone would mention it.
But as if my eyes weren't enough, scars were now all over my body as well, my legs, my forehead and more places I had no scars before. I was surprised after seeing a little scar on my hand, but I was far more surprised seeing that I this amount of scars suddenly appeared. But it was not only bad things, my sudden increase in strength, my easier moveable body and my suddenly increasement of eye sight are the better parts of it. "A reward for surviving?" flew through my mind which was discarded soon after.
Seeing that my body was changed in nearly every way, I could not denie the question of: 'Was I still Lince?'

Out of confusion and because I was scared, I stumbled backwards and sat down on the bed. Standing was something that was too much asked from a body like this. "How could I change?" were my words in the quiet room where only a little sound from Claes' harmonica came through.
With nothing in mind, I could still see my blurry reflection in the dirty window at the other side of the room. Seeing a small patch of hair covering my left eye was quickly dismissed by pushing it away with my hands; unfortunately, it kept falling back in front of it, blocking a part of my eye sight.
I couldn't believe the sudden change in my body if I would compare it with my memories. I looked as if I was looking at one of the heavy-trained soldiers from the Empire instead of my own young body. "No youngster can be this muscular" did my mind add to it.
I looked as if I was a regular on the battlefield and fought in many battles, leaving my body full with scars. "As if magic was swapping my bodies" flew through my mind, but it was clear that it was my own body. I could see still several parts of myself which were indentical to my previous body. My face was not changed at all, and the small scar on my right shoulder which was brought on my body by an accident during fishing, they were still here on my body, confirming it was still the same Lince, the same Lince that fell in battle.

While the music of the harmonica kept playing and pierced through the walls, I decided to go to sleep, and hope that this would be a dream where I could wake up from. Seeing a muscular body like this - though not comparable with Alex - was like a dream for a young boy, like myself.
While thinking, I could feel the small patch of hair falling in front of my eye again, blocking my left eye sight.
I sighed as response and pushed it back again, while picking up a little thin rope to hold my hair together for the night. If necessary, I would cut the long hair off the moment I would wake up.

---

Waking up was something that was easily said by the average person, but a question for the people who were on the brink of death. Without knowing, I was the entire night awake, afraid of closing my eyes, and not opening them up again. I decided to read some of the books in the room while using the moon to provide me with the necessary light, in the hope that I wouldn't wake anyone up.

By reading the books, I learned things I never heard of. Like Lord Glodich Valentine, Emperor of the lands and his younger daugther who's name was to be decided when the book was writen. Also, Cruz Black, a man with a large brown mustache was described in the book, a man who was the general of the forces of Lord Glodich and also his advisor, together with the prime mage and priest. They were already ruling the lands for a small 17 years with the same rules and laws, hoping that no difference would be made.
While reading, I became more and more interested and started to hum the songs I heard Claes play. Unfortunately, it were only two songs I heard her play, so not much variation was made.
Without I knew it, I kept reading the book and suddenly a brighter light was shining on the book that suddenly started to hurt my eyes. "The sun rised" I whispered to myself while I took my eyes from the book and looked outside, to the sun that was positioned gloriously in the sky.
"I should... move" I mentioned as I stood up and placed the book back on where it was, not noticing that a loose paper fell out.

"Die!" was screamed from a large man who drew his broad sword towards the bandit. It impossible to miss that the bandit lifted his shield to defend himself and his axe ready to strike. Regardless, it was not even necessary to defend, the blade of the sword dodged the shield and struck the bandit in his upper arm, forcing him to drop the shield. But from small range, it is best to attack, were clearly the thoughts of the bandit as he lifted his axe and brought it down to attack the man while still screaming of pain because of the blade in his arm.
"Suffer!" the sword carrier yelled at him as he pulled back his sword and easily dodged the effortless attack of the bandit.
"I'll get you for this!" the bandit screamed as he ran away and quickly jumped over the white bars from the flower garden.

"Amusing! Good job, Cruz" could be heard while a man was clapping his hands. The sword carrier finally sheeted his sword again and took off his helmet, to reveal a large mustache covering most from his face.
"If Cruz Black says that he'll defend the Valentine family, he will" Cruz mentions as he walked towards the clapping man who was easily recognized by his crown and royal clothes as Lord Glodich.
"My liege, the soldiers should be returning shortly. Shall we leave towards the gate?" Cruz politely asks while making an effortless bow not showing any politeness in that.
"No formalities from friends, Cruz" the Emperor replied with, nodding in reply of leaving towards the gate. "I heard that Sandjo was injured but still sent out with the rest of the soldiers, is this rumor true, Cruz?" Glodich enquired as he looked at the taller man who walked next to him, still dressed with a heavy chain mail.
"Yes, my liege. I've sent Sandjo on with the rest of the soldiers because he can prove to be a very important asset in combat" Cruz answered with while clearly overflowing with full confidence.
"Well, Cruz, if you thought the battle was this important, you could have send lord Gunthar and his personal team to handle it" Glodich replied with, clearly mentioning that lord Gunthar and his team were far superior than most soldiers.
"No, my liege. Lord Gunthar's team is only of average strength and Gunthar himself is nothing more than a below average-elite soldier, I don't believe he was able to handle the job" Cruz mentioned while still overflowing with confidence.
"Well, if we lost any soldier, I want you and Price to take responsibility for it, Cruz" Glodich tells him in a more stricter tone.
"Price?! Terres Price?!" Cruz Black answers with as he quickly moves himself in front of his Emperor in a face full with unbelieve. "You know Terres and I have a bad reputation throughout the Empire and-" Cruz begon but before he could mention anything else, lord Glodich interupted him with a strict look in his face.
The strictness completely dissapeared when Cruz became quiet and a relaxing and pleasant broad smile crossed the face of the old black haired man. "Well then Cruz, it is about time you two will make a difference about that, now isn't it?" Glodich laughingly quite loud tells Cruz who'd was stunned by the reaction of the Emperor.
"Lord Glodich, please, don't kid around like that!" Cruz quickly shouts after his Emperor who increased his pace and already walked several meters in front of Cruz.

"I am sure that my body is recovering, but I still feel somewhat weak at the edges. I'm sure to be back in form after a few more days," I told Alex who was just of planning of opening my door as I walked out.
"That's a relief. Where are you going now?" Alex mentioned in a kind tone while looking me straight in the eyes, clearly showing that he was worried about something.
"I'm gonna take a breath outside, mind it?" I bluntly answered him, not yet knowing what was going on. After I finished my sentence, Alex's face went blank and looked a bit worried back, while pushing me back into the room.
"I don't think it is smart going out now" Alex told me. Naturally, a 'why' answer of me was unavoidable. "Once a month a few ex-soldiers come around in the village for a small 'reunion' and they are not fond on any bystanders" Alex explained to me.
"Ex-soldiers? That doesn't scare me much, I'm gonna take a breath" I mentioned, completely ignoring the friendly advise Alex gave me.
I left Alex who had a questionable look on his face, more worried about me than any other expression that was available. He told me to be careful if I decided to go out after all, and that those "soldiers" weren't as kind as they may look.

While I ignored Alex's advise, I kept walking to the end of the hall, while clearly looking around. Like I expected, it was a wooden house with every wall and door made of wood. The atmosphere was great and it the temporature was excellent, someone who was raised in a stone house with a fire to warm himself up, it is unexpected to see such a sudden change in enviorment.
It was nice to see in the long hall that all doors on the right of me were rooms and left didn't have any doors, but only windows. I was happy that I could finally walk and explore the house a bit, that I was going outside was quickly forgotten. I heard sounds of people talking outside, but out of pure curiousity, I quickly forgot it again.
I learned that it was a hall with 4 rooms and one room on the end, the room I was living in, apparently. I learned that the first room near the stairs was the room of the little girl named Caitlin, the second room was of Claes, the third room was of a name I wasn't familiar of. It was of a woman named 'Jessica' which was probably the mother of them. Without any further thought, I went on to the next room, that was placed right next to mine. It was doubtless of who that room would be, but it was a nice confirmation for me, the room was of Laura, the busty girl that hit me back then. The last room was yet another name I was not familiar of by the name of 'Sean' who was the boy that I saw when I was seeing my body.
His age was definitely older than the little Caitlin, but I am sure he was younger than Claes, who apparently was younger than Laura.
No room of a father, nor Alex. Alex was apparently not living here, but seemed to be filled with a lot responsibility. The addict was made for a storage room with no in particular living there. It was far too small to let someone live in it as well, so it wouldn't really matter.
In terms of sound, I could hear that the kitchen was right below my, or Sean's room. The sound of kitchen equipment could clearly be heard from there and it was a lot harder to hear outside the room. If my memory worked carefully as well, a little part below the stairs is the door to the exit and the living room is 2 of the 4 rooms. The space of the other 2 rooms was one filled with a large bathroom and some kind of stairs to the basement, or so I heard. I had no intention of finding it out.

"Mr. Lince?" I could suddenly hear, that brought me back to my senses as I looked back, but did not see anyone. "Down here" the voice told me. I quickly followed her advice and looked down to see who was talking to me.
A very broad smile crossed the face of the little girl named Caitlin who was looking at me. "Can you stand already?" she asked me with the smile remaining on her face.
"It was definitely a kid, not knowing much about injuries just yet" floated through my mind as I kept staring at her smiling face. She was really the symbol, or model of a little kid, that didn't have any worry in the world on herself at the moment. Cute, but I more fond on more pressured people - like myself.
"Mr Lince, I had to ask you if you could come to mom, she would like to tell you something"

After hearing that someone called me, as a matter of fact, calling me 'mister' that made me feel a lot more mature I was surprised to sit down to watch her in the eyes. The little girl named Caitlin clearly had problems with her growth as she was far too short for her age, and my body grew far too fast in a small amount of time. Her always cheerful smile that was on her face did not dissapear for a second when she saw me, when I was out of sight to go to her mother, the smile didn't dissapear either.
"I never met someone like her" was what I thought. Seeing a cheerful girl like that was rare for me. We didn't have many children in the village I was born. And the children that were living in the village were absolutely not like Caitlin, cheerful no matter what happens. Alex already mentioned that some ex-soldiers were on a rampage outside and I am pretty sure they are able to destroy something precious to this family. "Would that sadden Caitlin" flew with light speed through my mind. "Nah, she isn't saddened by something like that" my mind answered itself.
While thinking and looking back to the girl, I forgot I was in the hall and nearly fell from the stairs. I could grab the side of the wall tightly so I wouldn't completely fall. But even if I grabbed myself, my weight was still pushed backwards and I was still on the brink of falling.
Suddenly, I could feel myself falling against something soft. The softness dissapeared not soon after though, as if it fell.
"Ouch!" I could suddenly hear someone say. I quickly turned my head to see what happened only to come to the point of not being able to believe my eyes. Laura, one of the girls of the house was walking there, without me noticing it. I clearly bumped against her, forcing her on with my weight and letting her lose her balance, falling on the little flat part of the stairs.
I quickly pulled myself up and ran at her, quicky asking if she didn't hurt herself. An awful look of "get out of my sight" was in her expression. I decided not to wait for her answer and quickly passed her to go and find the mother of the family - she did want to see me after all.

Downstairs I was finally able to explore the house a little bit more than usual. My expectations were correct and the main living room was placed under the hall and 2 of the rooms while the kitchen was under my room. Interesting to see, but I was downstairs to find the mother and talk with her, which was easier said than done. As for one, I don't know her, and the second part is, I don't know where she is.
I was surprised when she wasn't in the living room, nor was she in the kitchen. Even though there was a basement available, the lock on the basement kept me from entering.
"I'm sure Caitlin said that she was waiting downstairs" flew through my mind, filled with unbelief, that she was trying to pull off a joke with me. A small angry state of mine that I hadn't felt since Alex confronted Claes appeared to me again, getting ready to go back and have a talk with Caitlin. I was preparing my mind to do what I was planning until I heard someone calling my name; Lince.
I turned my head around, quickly changing my facial expression. I was glad I changed my facial expression as I saw Claes standing in the hallway between the kitchen and the living room where I stood.
"If you're searching for mom, she's in the backyard" Claes mentioned ignoring most of my sudden expressions of seeing her. She was also pointing to the door not far from me, but because of the colors, it looked more like a large window like more of those were around. I nodded to show I understood it, and I walked towards the door, opening it to breath the fresh air after a long time.

As if the sun that was standing glorious in the sky was attacking my eyes, my eyelids became heavy and I felt like dropping right there and right now. My body was recovered at most places, but my energy wasn't restored yet and I couldn't stand long.
It took a long minute until my eyes were finally adjusted to the open blowing air and the sunlight. When my eyes were finally adjusted, I could see the brown haired mother standing in the garden, talking with an armored clad soldier who had a broad smile on his face while talking with the woman.
Because of the stuff that happened around, she apparently didn't hear the sound of the door that I was outside in the garden with her.
For a while, I kept my distance while watching 2 two people. Both eventually with a broad smile on their face, clearly having fun with what they were talking about. While looking to the man, I reminded myself that I was an adventurer as well and would gladly take any offer to join the Empire.
"I know I am strong, I'm quick, I'm a good thinker, I would be a good asset to the Empire" were my thoughts as I looked at the man who suddenly changed his area of sight to me.
"Ah, you must be Lince" he broke the subject with the mother with and slowly started approaching me, ignoring the mother completely who was still looking with a smile at me.

"Y-Yes, I am Lince, how can I help you?" I quickly mentioned as he stood in front of me, watching me directly in my two different colored eyes. The man looked at me with a smile on his face and a stern look in his eyes, I really couldn't read what he was thinking.
"Ah, well then Lince, I heard from Jes. here that you might be a nice addition to the Empire's strike force here" the armored man kindly asked me. Being added to the strike force of the Empire is an honor, and certainly a dream for me to come true. But, why would they?
"Why would you accept me? You can't possibly accept me from a recommendation of someone" I told him, still strict in mind that you can't make a decision of someone you just know. It's impossible to say something like, especially because this mother of those children barely knows me, not to mention that I have been sleeping more than I have been awake since I've been here. And more important, a strike team is not something that everyone can join, they specialize in attacking something while having intense training.
"I'll explain that carefully to you. Jes. here, is our official scout to look who is fit for our strike team-..." before I let him finish his sentence, I decided to cut him off.
"Maybe so, but I have been sleeping more than I have been awake. How could she decide that about me?" I told him. I know better than anyone that I am not able to be added in a strike team, my body is still too weak and-
My thoughts were interupted by a huge strict view of the armored man. "I don't know why she thinks it, but I trust her words more than anyone. But we also have a lot of free time. It has been nearly 4 months ago since we got our last order and the most exciting mission we had in the area was 3 and a half month ago when a rat broke a valuable food storage" he told me. It was unbelievable, but true. The strike team of the Empire of this area was summoning me to train under the guidance. "It is only a request, you may accept or decline it, Lince" the man kindly told me.
My sight went automaticly to the mother who was looking at me with a broad smile on her face. She was clearly enjoying what was going on, and apparently was happy she mentioned me in her reccomandation. "Why would she pick me?" floated through my mind even though it was already filled with all kind of questions. Being summoned by the strike team of the Empire clearly gone through my head and I wasn&#3

In the mean time, at the Empirical Castle.

"Again?" was screamed through the halls to the Throne Room. "You must be kidding me!" was added soon after. A man who carried a large mustache that nearly covered his entire face looked furious. The armored man looked at the Emissary who had to give him a message. The young man next to the man with the large mustache was looking afraid to the Emissary, not exactly knowing what was going on.
"Are you saying that Wind attacked us again?" the larged mustached man yelled out, full with unbelief. After hearing the name of 'Wind', the young boy quickly opened his book to look up information about this "Wind" and what her role was in this story. Wind was one of the more dangerous enemies of the Empire. A woman that once served the Empire, no matter at any cost. It was always the question if she could finish a mission properly. She ignored most orders because she thought they were "unworthy" for her pressence and therefore refused doing them. Missions such as an infiltration was something what was far more attractive for her. A small year ago, she disbanded the Empire and made a small group of fighters, naming them after her Renegade name in the Empire, "Fallen Angels". Together with her two most trusted assistents who have been a danger to the Empire since they were born, they attack Empirical Strongholds for their amusement. Both assistents heavily skilled in all sort of different arts with something unique to them that makes them look like they are invincible - not to mention that they are brothers and therefore they can just 'feel' what kind of attack they may make.
The infamous woman named Wind has somehow negotiated with them, and named them after 2 Fallen Angels that once served the Sacred Gods. Aurora, the Sacred Angel of the Crystal Gate betrayed the gods by letting a mortal stepping into the gate to take the test without collecting any of the Star Keys. Aurora became the younger brother of the two men and was extremely skilled with most kind of weapons, especially with the long sword. His skill could not be touched and he followed his brother everywhere. The third man, who would grow out to be one of the most dangeroust men in the world. Named after the Fallen Angel that once served the Sacred Kingdom himself. The Angel was found to be giving information to the darker gods. Therefore, he was banned from the Kingdom and his wings were ripped off while he swore that he would get his revenge someday; named with a name the world would shock - Herasiel.
Herasiel is now one of the most skilled sword fighters in the world who is perhaps even more skilled with a one-handed axe. The Black Cleaver, a personalized weapon of Herasiel that has a large amount of unique abilities.
Together with the more than excellent leader Wind, 'The Shock' also known as, Aurora and his brother, 'The Nightmare' also known as the blade master, Herasiel.
With Aurora and Herasiel as her assistents, her 'Fallen Angels' became something to be feared. After attacking small strongholds of the Empire, she grew out to be one of the more dangerous enemies of the Empire together with the Black Shade Thieves.

"I can't believe Wind is attacking us again... wait, did you said that she attacked the Waterfall valley?" the man with the large mustache suddenly mentioned as well. As if something very bad happened, the serious expression on his face confirmed it for people that something very bad was going to happen, or was already happening.
"Yes, sir. The Fallen Angels attacked the Waterfall Valley, Sorznar, to be exact sir." the Emissary replied with, not knowing what is going on, still looking at the man with his large mustache. "Is something wrong, lord Black?" the Emissary added to it, clearly showing that he was talking to the Grand lord Cruz Black.
"As a matter of fact, yes. How was the situation when you left?" Cruz asked the Emissary while a glimmer of hope was crossing the eyes of the Grand Lord. Having an expression in his face that had hope in it, as if that 'bad' thing just turned out to be something good.
"The door was broken through, and I heard someone screaming for the help for a price. Should I have checked what that price was?" the Emissary asked as he looked at his lord with a questionable look on his face. Absolutely not knowing what was going on. 'Could it be a good thing, or not?' the man was clearly thinking.
"Wrong, Emissary. Our Empirical Soldiers weren't calling for a price, they were calling the help of Terres Price and Dale" Cruz grinningly mentions. Knowing that Terres Price and Dale was an incredible duo that was not easily defeated. Terres Price is an incredible Paladin that works best with the help of sir Dale, one of the older veteran fighters and Lord Gunthar, a man who was able to create more power than an Elite Squad. The young boy quickly looked up to the name of Dale, Price and Gunthar - only to find that Dale was missing in the book.
Terres Price, one of the Paladins that has made a huge name for himself. Though he is several years older than the paladin named 'Lord Gunthar', Price was able to keep a morale higher than anyone. His words could motivate huge armies that were supposed to go to war. Terres Price was an excellent fighter and made a name by winning many important battles during the war of the Gods. When Terres recently joined the Empire, he was made a fool because of his last name. Jokes as, "won a price, Price?" or anything similar were often made. But even though they made fun of him, in his debut fights, Terres Price always walked out of the battlefield, no matter what the odds were. One day, about 6000 men, lead by Sir Gregory Ottovus were sent out, to search a group of Bandits, to dispose of them. Unexpectedly, the bandit group was far larger than the group of Sir Gregory Ottovus and Ottovus' group was instead, quickly disposed off, and it was only a matter of minutes until the group of Price was clearly in the minority. While the Empire already gave up on the survival of the squad of sir Ottovus it was unexpected when a small 250 men walked back to the base mentioning that more than 4000 people survived and were injured at the scene. Not yet even mentioned that they disposed of the group of bandits under the leadership of rookie soldier, Terres Price. Price was instantly promoted to a commander.
"I've never seen someone with that much potential. How he lead the group in a matter of minutes. Screaming "We will not fall in battle" apparently gave the necessary confidence in my men, and he just rushed the enemy. While losing, he screamed 'we will not dissapoint the Empire! We are far more superior than them!' what gave the last bit of motivation and slaughtered the enemy. Never, and I mean never have I seen someone like that" were the words of Sir Gregory Ottovus after seeing Terres Price in action.
Lord Gunthar is a completely different man. His skill is different from a normal soldier and not even possible to compare it to even the skill of Terres Price. Lord Gunthar was clearly a man that could be added to the squads of the Hall of Fame and people who were the most elite of the elites. Lord Gunthar fights with a huge one handed mace that would smash his enemies instantly to the ground. His huge shield was made to defend with, but he uses it for attack due to push it against his opponents while twacking him with his mace.
In the average loss of soldiers a squad is 2000. Or at least, that's the average what was brought down because of lord Gunthar's friendship with his group. His loss of soldiers in 3 years was exactly 2 men. Yes, 2 men. Lord Gunthar's body is full with scars that was often hid by his steel armor that covered his body - but that couldn't defend him from everything. "We fight for lives, not for numbers" was what Gunthar said when he came back from the battlefield with one loss.
After 7 years of his services in the Empire, he was scouted by the scouts of the Empire and got an invitation to train together with the Elite soldiers. It was a decision you could not refuse, and Lord Gunthar did not refuse it either. He quickly packed his necessary equipment, said bye for a short while to his squad and left to the training field of the Elites.
The scouts made no mistake in invitating him as he ended up in the Top. 10 at exactly the 9th place of 'Best Soldier' and the exact number 4 of 'Best Leader on the Battlefield' in result. Leaders of the Elites waited no moment and instantly asked Lord Gunthar to join the Elite Group of soldiers. "Give me a week to think" was the answer of Gunthar when he heard it and went back to his squad, that he leads.
When the people asked Lord Gunthar if he had an invitation to join the Elites, Gunthar laughed at it and answered with, "as if" and told them that the Elites existed out of people who were far stronger than him. In truth, it was not true, but he believed that he could motivatie his squad of soldiers by saying that. Like he expected, it worked, and the people looked in utter surprise that there were groups of soldiers that were far more superior in battle than their lord Gunthar. When someone asked at what rank he ended, Gunthar mentioned one of the lowest positions that were available as well.
It came to a surprise to people that Jason Sharpe, the number 1. of the Elite Soldiers and a group of scouts approached Gunthar for a second time during the training. Gunthar's soldiers looked in awe to see Lord Sharpe for the first time in reality. In further surprise to Gunthar's soldiers, they wanted a small spar-fight between Lord Jason and Lord Gunthar that ended up with a huge loss for Gunthar. While Jason knew it was all an act of Gunthar to be beat so easily by him, he knew what to say. He declared himself in every way, superior to Gunthar to his soldiers, but whispered to the scouts that Gunthar was only weeks away from his own strength.
Finally, after a month after the spar fight with Jason, Gunthar got a letter that he was forced to read to all soldiers. It said that Gunthar got his final invitation to the Elite Squad. He was accepted as the leader of Squadron B-12, one of the highest ranked positions available in the entire Empirical Battlefield. When the scouts appeared one last time to hear the answer of Gunthar they got an answer they would never forget. One of the most important positions of the Empire was offered to Lord Gunthar, who was nothing more than a normal commander.
"Let me ask you this, gentlemen" Gunthar replied to the scouts. "These soldiers of this squad, they trust me. Would they trust a sudden other commander?" Gunthar asked them. All soldiers of Gunthar looked up to hear what he was saying about them, and the scouts looked confused, replying slowly with 'no, I guess not'.
"Good, then you understand why I won't leave" Gunthar replied in answer and ripped the letter in two and gave the shreds to one of the scouts and commanded his group to resume training. The answer shocked the scouts amazingly much and they were hugely impressed. Declining an option such as this while being so extremely good.
Gunthar, who was from that moment on called, Lord Gunthar went on with his 5000 soldier squad and lost about 1 person every 2 years. His opinion was that the lives of humans were far more important than the success of a mission, no matter what mission. Because of the leadership of Lord Gunthar, Lord Gunthar's squad grew out to be even more skilled than the elite squadrons. Lord Gunthar's squad was claimed to be unbeatable and they were not easily disposed of, partly because of Lord Gunthar's amazing defend-skills.

"Lord Dale and Lord Price were there?!" the Emissary asked in surprise to the large man.
"Yes, Price and Dale are there. Shall we see how they did it?" Cruz answered kindly in reply. An evil grin crossed his face, already knowing what the result was. Wind and her squad are no match for the heavily skilled soldiers of Dale and Price.
"Y-Yes, sir!" the Emissary quickly replied with, quickly grabbing his stuff together and leaving towards the exit while Cruz Black slowly walked to the stabbles.

"Well, Lince? Have you made up your mind?" the armored man asked me. He told me about lord Price and lord Gunthar who also started out here, in the Waterfall Valley. They were amazing people, and good people to look up to, seeing them as a model for the soldiers. They were excellent soldiers, strong, good leaders and very loyal. Working with them would be an honor, an honor as great as being saved to live yet again.
My answer was a simple nod, and a broad mysterious smile on my face. I was happy that they asked me, and when he explained why he would ask me, I was only more happy.
"Well then Lince, you are welcome to enter our grounds whenever you want. Just ask for someone named 'Mason Bridge' and I will be flying to ya'" The man tells me, confirming that his name was 'Mason Bridge' and a commander of the Strike Force here near Waterfall Valley. Specially trained to attack other places, defending is for someone else, coincidentally, lead by his brother, Dirk Bridge.
I thanked him with full appreciation, extremely happy that I was able to join them on the training.
"If you'd excuse me now, Lince, Jes." the man named Mason quietly mentions as he places his helm back on his head and prepares to leave back to his stronghold again. His steps were rather fast, even though his armor looked quite heavy.
"Are all soldiers that strong?" floated through my mind as I saw the soldiers marching back to the stronghold.
"Congratiolations, Lince" was something I could clearly hear from behind. Fortunately, it was a voice I could recognize. I quickly turned my head to see the lovely Laura looking at me with a smile on her face. Her clothes were something that typical fitted her, especially her bust. It was as if she was trying to turn me on or anything similar, though I knew it was pure nonsense what I was thinking. She barely knows me, and I barely know her. The only times we got contact was when I woke up and felt a fist against my head and only minutes ago when I bumped into her and she growled at me.
"Thanks, I guess... Laura, was it?" I mentioned, as I saw the door closing again, seeing that the mother left the scene. She apparently just wanted the soldier, Mason to hear from me. But why should I care about the mother now that someone else took interest in m-...
Before my thoughts ended, I could hear the door again, and I was alone in the flower garden. "So much for the interest" floated through my mind as I looked at the closed wooden door.

I sighed and turned to look up in the sky. It is actually a pretty nice house. I could see 3 houses around me that were about the same size and in general, it was just one huge farm. Animals walked freely around and it wasn't uncommon to see a pig walking against your leg or anything similar.
"Life here isn't all that bad" passed my lips as I kept looking at the sky.

...but, how did I come here?

"Living on a farm isn't all that bad. I can live the way I want to, and do whatever I want" floated through my thoughts as I looked up to the sky, seeing a part of the house blocking my view. If I would look a different way, a part of another house would block my view. No matter what I would do, the houses would remain in my sight. They were huge, but that could be logical. In the family I was spending my time at, a lot of time that is. Then to think, I don't even know the last name of the family. For some reason, I woke up in the bed of the little girl named Caitlin and been here ever since. I met Laura, Caitlin, Jessica, Mason, Alex and Claes, but right now, I only had a serious talk with Mason and Alex... "could it be that the others are avoiding me? But why would they" flew through my mind in an instant. I instantly started to think about things more. I was interested in the place I was and I have yet to meet an amount of people. I still haven't talked with the little boy named Sean... or even saw him in my living state.
But the question remained, "how did I come here?" kept repeating in my mind. It was a question that came to mind the moment I woke up in the bed of Caitlin, while not knowing where I was. I was not familiar with most people from the house and I am not yet comfortable talking with everyone of the house hold. "It was pretty clear that Laura wasn't fond on me and I am sure I can't get a decent answer from Caitli-" before I could finish what was on my mind, I heard someone mentioning my name.

My head automaticly went up as I saw a boy sitting on the edge of the window, looking at me with a mean face.
"What are you doing out there?" the boy asked me in a harsh and loud voice, clearly not appreciating the point that I was spending time in, or around the house. Was it Sean? Or was it yet someone else. The sun was shining in my eyes, and I hard time seeing who was talking to me. It was quite a distance as well but I could feel his eyes burning on my skin. A 'deadly stare' is what they call such, or 'staring daggers'.
"Who are you?" I called back at him.
"Sean" he replied bluntly with, moments later adding: "you're Lince, aren't you?" while the questions looked kind, his face and the tone of his voice were exactly the opposite. Sean was looking at me with the burning sun above the house that kept my eyes small, not being able to see how he looked like from close by.
Finally, I replied with a nod as an answer to his question to ask if I was Lince.
"Stupid name, but it is nice to meet you" Sean answered with, after taking his time looking at me. "I saw my father talking with you. What was it he wanted?" the boy asked me as he finally stood up, shaking the window a little bit.
Nice to meet me? The way he looked at me was like an eagle and its prey. His tone was extremely unpleasant but his reaction was completely unexpected. But even though he looked me with such a face, his intention seemed kind to me. It took me moments to come to the conclusion and I finally replied with that his 'father' was asking me to join the Empirical Strike Force. When I answered his question, I clearly surprised the boy as a clear "oh" gave my answer. It is very understandable why he would be surprised, I was surprised as well when I heard the offer of being accepted into the Empire, especially since I was placed in the Strike Force. Then to think, I'm only 16!
"Do you know even anything about the Empire's Strike Force?!" the boy yelled at me again. It looked like he was angry yet again. But to be honest, I don't have much ideas what the strike force of this area has to do. Mason said that there wasn't much the last amount of months, and because of that, they accepted me... partly. But even though I had no intentions of training there with people I don't know, it was very attractive to hear that Dale and Price came from the same training camp and grew out to be two of the most famous soldiers in the world. Unfortunately, only Price and Dale came from there. Other famous soldiers came from places which had a long distance from Waterfall Valley. Though it is great that at least Dale and Price came from there, it is a shame that all other people who've made a name aren't from the area in the long range.
"Unfortunately, no, I don't know much about this strike force. Could you explain this to me?" I asked, hoping that I could get a chance to seriously talk with him. I was wondering about his personality as for one, but it is understandable that he was mad at me. I was living in his room after all. I wouldn't be happy either if someone would take residence in my room, just like I am doing.
A loud sigh could be heard from the boy as he stuck his head out of the window, making his face completely dark for me. "Very well, come up to my... our room" the boy said as he pulled his head back in, and walked back inside, letting me lose the sight of him.

A sigh of me could be heard as I made an "oh well" gesture and walked to "our" room in a rapid pace, ignoring most things that I found during my walk up. Luckily, I didn't meet anyone of the family as I was walking up to "our" room.
Moments later, I was ready to knock on the door. The moment I wanted to know, it was already opened by a boy, that was clearly one or two heads shorter than me and his blond hair confirmed for me that he was Sean.
"Come in, I'll explain it to you" he said as he walked to a chair and sat down when he reached it. Taking a book from his desk and showing it to me. "Legends" was the title of the book. I was clearly wondering what he wanted with it while I closed the door behind me. After all, I did not ask for a complete history, I wanted to ask about the Strike Force.
"Look, Lince. Mason Bridge, my father, he and his Strike Force had a problem with a bunch of Black Shade Thieves that took residence near this place. Because of this, my father is very little home because those thieves can do a lot of awful things" the boy told me, keeping me wondering about several things. Before I could let him continue his story, I broke in and asked why the thieves took residence here. After all, the only impressive thing what can be found here is a farm.
"You idiot!" the boy yelled at me again, looking at me furiously. "The Fallen Angels, the Black Shade Thieves and us, of course, know that we have a secret passage under the ground. It is a safe place that is specially made for bosses of the Empire who come here once a month" the boy explained to me. Meaning, that there is a hidden passage here somewhere that leads to this secret hallway that is made for the Empire to discuss, whatever is necessary to discuss.
"Why can't they just go to a different place. The Empirical "bosses" that is" I asked, hoping to get a kind answer instead of an insult again. My patience is long termed, but even that can end.
"The cave down below is a gift of nature and very easily to defend in opposite of something that man makes. I know it sounds strange, but I've been there once, and I could not make a step before I was discovered" the boy explained to me.
"Alright, but then I understand that both the Fallen Angels as the Black Shade Thieves are aiming to capture one of the "bosses", right?" I asked him.
"Probably. Why?" The boy asked in reply, not knowing where I was trying to point out.
"Well, why don't they work together if they have the same option?" I asked him, hoping that he knew the answer. It was very unfortunate that I knew barely anything about the Fallen Angels nor the Black Shade Thieves.
Right when I finished my sentence of my question, he pushed the book with the title 'Legends' in my hands and commanded me to read it. Moments later, he left the room, clearly being annoyed by my pressence. I sighed in reply, not knowing what else to do, I decided to read the book and quickly found a category about the Black Shade Thieves.

Apparently, the Black Shade Thieves were created by a brave Empirical Soldier named 'Azakar' who was able to create the perfect soldier by using certain magics that raised the dead. He named the undead-chimera Tain, a creature that could feel no pain and was in every way invulnerable.
Months after Azakar created Tain, he was found that he was murdering Empirical Soldiers for training of Tain. Because of that, Tain was locked underground and Tain was thrown in prison. But because of the people who were loyal to Azakar he was released after days in prison and together with his loyal soldiers, he released Tain yet again to cause havoc. The soldiers under his command were one of the best and not to mention that they had a nearly invulnerable soldiers on their side that was completely unstopable.
After the group of Azakar showed that the Black Shade Thieves were just as dangerous as the Fallen Angels, it was only a matter of time before the organisation got the name of 'Black Shade Thieves' and gathered a team that was about half of the Empire. Azakar became stronger and stronger until he announced his final attack to the Central Palace where lord Glodich and his guards were waiting for him. But when Tain come, the battle was a masacare. All Glodich's body guards died until one of the last soldiers stood up, facing the creature in combat only carrying a half broken two-handed sword. The man decided that the best way to destroy Tain was to use a certain 'thing' on him that would destroy its body. That "thing" was lava from the Volcano that can be found on the same island as the Central Palace was located.
After Tain was destroyed, the man was recognized under the name of 'Dale' and quickly a part of the Black Shade Thieves fell apart. But even though their number were less, they were still a huge danger to the world. And even though Tain was killed, Azakar was still alive and ruling the Black Shade Thieves from his stronghold.
Wind and Azakar were in the same section when they worked in the Empire. Orders that were given to Wind, Price, Dale, Collins, Bridge, Hacanson, Ilja and Holm were always given by the combination of lord Cruz Black and sir Azakar Rind. Because Wind was unsatisfied with her jobs, she quit Empire and swore that she would never talk to Black and Rind again.

My fantasy was quickly playing as I saw sir Bridge fighting Wind, Azakar and Tain and winning the battle. But then again, it is only fantasy.

"Black, I told you, if we gone through the mountains, we would've reached the valley by now!" a dark haired man yelled at Cruz Black as they both sat on a horse cladderd with all kinds of heavy armor with several bataljons of soldiers behind them. Riding horses in a rapid pace to reach their destination as soon as possible, knowing that the Fallen Angels attacked the Waterfall Valley stronghold. Though Cruz was sure that Price and Dale managed to keep the stronghold standing and easily disposed of the Fallen Angels, Cruz was hoping to see the head of Herasiel and his brother on a plate. Though unfortunately, Black was forced to ask Stephan Collins with him. The entire Empire knows that Cruz Black was never able to get along with three of the Champions, Price, Collins and Dale.
"Shut up, Collins! I made a mistake, but we're nearly there now!" Cruz shouted back at Collins with an angered face, knowing that he made a mistake and that Collins would remember it, because it was a way to get back to Cruz.
"Nearly there, you say?" Collins asks Cruz with an awful look on his face, clearly intending to prove him wrong. "Terres and Tyler are fighting people like Herasiel out there! Even though Terres and Tyler have an advantage over them, Herasiel and Aurora won't just fall in combat that easily." Collins shouts back to Cruz, with an angered face, like usual.
"I know! I know! Don't worry though, Edgardo Hodges is there too" Cruz mentions, hoping to get Collins back to his mood.
Edgardo Hodges was one of the champions from the North. Specialized in defending against heavy hits and very skilled in counter attacking the opponent by using a one-handed spear and a Tower Shield. Edgardo is not stronger than Dale or Price, but he is far more skilled when it comes to defending. Edgardo was at his golden years and at his very best, because of that, not many people could win from him in combat when they faced him. The battles with him always take a long time, but the longer it takes, the more chance Edgardo has to win.
Collins and Edgardo aren't the best of friends, but they know that both of them are skilled in combat and in the hope that they would never face each other in combat. Collins and Price were team mates when they fought together in battles and made the title of a 89% chance of success, that is very high, considering that battles they are sent to are often failures.
"You mean that both Terres and Tyler are there, but Edgardo is there as well?" the man asks Cruz as he looks at him in a huge state of shock. The combination of Edgardo, Price and Dale was something to be surely be feares, especially if they fought at a place that was in their advantage.
"Enough talking, we must hurry! If the battle went out well, we still have a large amount of injuries, surely." Cruz quickly mentions now Collins was back to normal. Personal fights were something to be ignored now, now it was more important to get to the stronghold as soon as possible to get a report from Price or one of the brothers Bridge.
"That's right! How much time do we have before it gets dark?" Collins quickly enquires as he makes a gesture to the troops to speed up.
"Less than an hour. But by the time we will reach the stronghold, it is surely dark already." Cruz mentions with a sad face. He knows that Black Shade Thieves and Fallen Angels had a small advantage in the dark. Thieves and Assassins where the Black Shade's were formed of was there specialty and the Fallen Angels had their own share of advantages as well.
"Make haste men! Whoever reaches the Stronghold first will be treated to a beer from me!" Collins calls out, motivating his soldiers to speed up to reach the stronghold as soon as possible.

While looking at the window to the sky, I found that the sun was setting and a huge red glow was surrounding the area with a feeling of comfort. "Beautiful, but red is also the color of blood" shot through my thoughts as I looked at the blood red sky that was filling the sky.
They taught me once that every minute, a person died and a baby was born. If that is true, then thousands of people would die in a few days. It was not hard to believe something like that, for all I know, Fallen Angels were fighting Empirical Soldiers in the mean time. Death was something that could not be avoided from such a battle. Especially not with people like Herasiel and Aurora on the Fallen Angels side and people like Taos and Gunthar on the Empirical side. Seeing them combine forces in combat would be like a dream that came true. Who would win, could not be predicted.
"Lince?" I could hear someone saying, as I slowly turned around, to see a woman standing in the door opening looking at me. Her long blonde hair was pulled back into a ponytail as she looked at me. A few grey hairs sticked out of it, even though most of it was calmly pushed back.
I can remember seeing this woman in the garden only an hour ago. She was together with her husband, apparently, Mason Bridge. So, her name must be Jessica Bridge, together with Claes Bridge, Laura Bridge, Sean Bridge and Caitlin Bridge. Exceptional name, not that my own name is all that great.
Finally, after moments of thought, I answered with a calm, "yes?" as I kept starring at her, wondering what she would want from me. If she wanted to ask where Sean went to, I couldn't answer her that since I wouldn't know it myself.
"Would you like to join on dinner, Lince?" the woman kindly asks me as she was still standing in the door opening while I suddenly saw Claes coming out of her room and walking downstairs. But for all they know, I'm still a stranger to them.
"Could I ask you a few things first? This is the first time we talked after all" I mentioned to her as I looked at her with a smile on my face as I pushed the small patch of hair out of my face that almost instantly fell back again to hide my eye.
A little nod from her was the answer to my question as I stood up from the chair I sat down on when she got in.
"Could you tell me how I came here? I have been wondering that the moment I arrived" was definitely the first question I asked as I looked her right in the eyes, and I made it sure that she couldn't avoid the question. She looked quite unsure to me. 'Was she afraid of me?' floated through my mind as I looked at her being all shy to me. 'No, that's impossible' my mind answered my own question as she finally moved her lips to answer me.
"Well... on a certain day, Claes was out during the night and Alex was waiting for her return. The moment she returned, she had you in her arms and Alex quickly tried to tend to your wounds. After I heard what happened and checked up on you, you really looked like you had no chance of surviving" she explained to me. I could remember something like that. I remember feeling a stab between my ribs and my consiousness floated away right after that. The moment after, I could only remember that someone was bandaging my wounds and the moment after that, I noticed that I woke up in Caitlin's room.
"Then I must thank Alex and Claes for it. But, why are you all so friendly to me? I am nothing more than a stranger to you people" I asked, considering it would also be my last question as I looked at her in the eyes yet again. Once again, she could not avoid the question since she knew I would ask it eventually, it was only a matter of time before I would ask it.
"Didn't you notice that already?" she asked me with finally a small smile crossing her face. "Caitlin likes you, after all" she explained to me. My mind quickly raced through several thoughts, remembering that I had some pleasant conversations with the little girl, but I have yet to talk to Laura for one. "Claes likes you for some kind of reason as well" the mother went on as she looked at me with a smile. "And Alex told me that he hasn't seen the smile of Claes for a long time until you came along" the mother, Jessica, explained to me as she looked pleased at me.
"So, therefore everyone is being nice to me? It feels like something is very wrong. Everything is going far too easy..." I explained to her, while looking at the ground with a thinking face. Something was clearly wrong, that Claes wanted to learn the songs I memorized and that Caitlin finally has a friend was clear to me. It is quite clear to me as well that Alex was happy to see Claes smile again, but that doesn't explain why I may live with them in the same house.
"Don't think too much about it, Lince. Just come and eat with us." Jessica mentioned to me as she grabbed my hand and pulled me downstairs to the dinning room where I could see all family members, except the father sitting at the table, waiting for their dinner to be served. Only Alex wasn't here, but I already knew that he wasn't a family member of this house.

Without really noticing it, the sun has finally set outside and the moon took its place. It was finally dark and my first recovered day was nearly over.
I wonder what Mason is thinking as I sat down in one of the stairs. 'He is probably missing his family,' was what floated through my thoughts as a small embarrassed smile crossed my face.

---

"Ike!" was screamed by a dark haired man as he jumped from his horse and quickly ran to the man who had an arrow in his chest.
In the opposite thought of Cruz, the Stronghold did not survived the attack of the Fallen Angels and the roofs were on fire, the soldiers were killed from the outside and some of the remaining Fallen Angels outside were fighting several Empirical Soldiers. Then to think, no one has gone in just yet.
"Ike! Ike!" Collins kept calling as he tried to place the man named 'Ike' in a comfortable position so he could talk. Apparently, he was one of the only survivers of the onslaught.
"C... Collins... C... Cruz..." the man named Ike could mention as he saw both Collins and Cruz standing near him. They were looking down on him, he was badly injured and at the brink of death.
"Ike, where is Price?!" Cruz quickly mentioned as he tried to gather as many of the soldiers that were not fighting the exhausted Fallen Angels that were slowly being killed or captured. "Ike!" Cruz shouted as he tried to speed up the reaction of Ike. For once, Collins did not react to the reaction of Cruz as he was desperate to find Terres, Tyler and Edgardo as well.
"H... Hera... siel... is a living... Nightmare..." Ike was able to mention as he tried to point to the gate of the stronghold. "P... Price... insid-..." Ike was not even able to finish his sentence before Cruz stood up, and shouted to his men that they should surround the stronghold and prepare to fight anything that is still inside.
"Stop!" Ike shouted with his last remaining energies, ignoring Collins that was trying to keep Ike safe and on the ground. "Herasiel!... is also inside!" Ike screamed as his sight was becoming blurry and blood was starting to run over his armor because of his wound. It was already a miracle that he survived an arrow that pierced through his armor like that, but that he was able to talk was really pushing the limit.
"Herasiel is inside?" Cruz surprisingly answers as his sight instantly went back to Ike. "What about Price, Dale, Bridge and Edgardo?!" Cruz managed to ask as he looked Ike strictly in the face.
"They... are fighting Herasiel. Together with..." Ike made several deep breaths as if his last minutes finally began. "Together with... with... loyal soldiers" Ike finally ended his last sentence with. Though Ike did not die after his last sentence, he did lost his consciousness because of a loss of blood.
"Collins! Leave Ike here for the medics, we're going in!" Cruz mentions as he gathers the best of his team to join the battle to go inside. Inside the burning stronghold.

It only took a moment before the team was gathered and ran inside. It took another moment to come in and find the Fallen Angels. Apparently, they didn't leave the stronghold at all. They were still fighting the Empirical Soldiers, led by Dirk Bridge who was very badly injured, and the broad smile on his face was very clear as he saw Cruz Black, Stephan Collins and their team coming in. The faces of most Fallen Angels were dissapointed as most of them dropped their weapons and gave up on the battle, knowing that they would have no chance of winning now Black and his team has arrived.
"Dirk! Where is Price?!" Collins quickly shouted at Dirk Bridge as he stood on a platform, above most others.
"Inside the building. Aurora and Wind already left, but Herasiel is still inside. He is fighting Price, Dale and Edgardo" Dirk managed to shout back at Collins as he finally sheeted his blade and climbed back down the ladders.
"Is he mad? Fighting Price, Dale and Edgardo at the same time? He stands no chance!" Collins laughingly calls out; making an awful expression on many faces of the Fallen Angels. Words like, 'Herasiel ain't that weak!' or 'your people aren't strong enough to win of Herasiel' were constantly heard as Cruz made a gesture to Collins to go in and find Herasiel.
"Wait, Collins! You may laugh at that. But Herasiel is still pushing them further and further into the stronghold until he reaches his goal" Dirk managed to say before Collins was out of sight. "Our calculations about Herasiel were wrong, Collins... be careful" Dirk whispered to himself as he closed his hands and prayed to Lady Aceci to keep Collins and the others safe. The calculations considered Herasiel as the greatest threat in the lands and only combined efforts of champions could win from them. If those calculations were wrong, does that mean Herasiel is even stronger than that?

"Dirk! Go to the medics for your wounds, I'll use my soldiers to keep everything guarded here. If, and only if Herasiel is able to win from people like Price, or if he runs away, he stands no chance against my soldiers" Cruz shouts at Dirk as a large distance was between them. But how could you not worry about them, if he has seen Herasiel fighting all three of them at the same time, and winning that battle. A combination of Price, Dale, Edgardo and Collins should be stronger than Lord Taos, so it should be OK, but still...
"Price, Dale, Collins and Edgardo are champions. They won't lose that easily from a Fallen Angel, no matter how strong he is. Taos isn't invincible either" Cruz tries to reassure Dirk with, knowing what he is going through. But everyone knows that Taos is the most skilled man in combat and not Herasiel, no matter what. Taos won of Herasiel before, about 3 years ago after all. If the combination of that 4 is stronger than Taos, than they should manage to win from Herasiel. That was clear in the mind of Cruz, but they could not permit any loss of one of the champions, but if they had to lose one or two in order to kill the man named 'Herasiel' then it is gladly given.
A little sparkle in the eye of Cruz could be seen as his lips whispered a few words. "Come on, Price, don't let me down" were his whispering words, that could not be heard by anyone except by Black himself.

---

"Price?! Dale?! Edgardo?!" the black haired man was shouting as he ran through the halls of the stronghold, not knowing where Herasiel was heading to. "Damn you, Herasiel!" Collins screamed as he ordered his men to split up to search for them as soon as possible. In groups of 6, they should at least leave 5 people to help Price and let the other get all other soldiers. "I will go to the middle tower alone, if anything is going on, come and get me there" Collins orderd to his men as they quickly split up to search for Herasiel. A moment when everyone left, Collins left to the middle - and largest - tower.
"You won't lose, right, Terres?" floated through Collins' mind as he ran as fast as he can - which isn't all that because of his heavy armor - to the middle tower, in the hope that he would find Herasiel there. 'Herasiel is a living nightmare', Ike said. With words such as that floating through his mind, it is hard to get it out of your mind as he kept running on the stairs.

---

"Dirk! What happened here?!" the words of his brother reached him as his soldiers arrived at the stronghold.
"Ask Cruz, I have to check up on my men" Dirk quickly answers his brother, Mason.
"I will, wait for me, Dirk." Mason quickly mentioned as he increased his pace and searched for Cruz Black, that was still tightening the defenses of the stronghold, which wasn't all that hard.
"Sir Dirk, is it true that Aurora and Herasiel is in there?" one of the soldiers of Mason decided to ask the brother of their commander.
"Only Herasiel" Dirk mentioned as he placed some bandaged around his left arm because of all his injuries. "I'm going back in when I've tended to my wounds. I won't let them fight him alone" Dirk mentioned as he tried to hurry up with his bandages what was starting to become a huge failure using one hand.
"If Herasiel is still in there, with who is he?" the soldier asked as he helped Dirk with his bandages, seeing that he had trouble doing it on his own.
"Price, Dale, Edgardo and Collins, surely" Dirk answered, still trusting that none of them has been defeated just yet. "Don't worry, Herasiel can't win of those four" Dirk quickly mentions to back it up, even though he is not trusting his own words.

A loud sound of blades clashing against each other could be heard from one store above Collins who is still standing in a small white room that has a stair that goes up, and one that goes down, where Collins just came from. With a quick look outside the window, to see where he was, he notices that Herasiel has pushed the 3 champions far enough to make it dangerous for them.
"Lord Malathander, let us slay Herasiel!" Collins yelled as he quickly ran up the final stair.

A loud scream of pain could be heard and the sound of clashing swords stopped.
A black haired man of average size just burried his long sword into the chest of a red haired man, dressed in gold colored armor.
"Edgardo!" Collins screamed as he saw the sword of Herasiel piercing through its armor, right into his heart. The huge smile on Herasiel's face was hideous as he was still looking at the sword that was burried in the heart of Edgardo, who died instantly after the hit, and the turn of the sword. It wasn't just the face of Herasiel that was shocking, but the desperate faces of Terres Price and Tyler Dale that stood only steps away from Herasiel, full with injuries, was not pleasant to see either.
"Edgardo!" Price called out as tears streamed down his face, not even noticing that Collins was now standing in the room as well.
"Sweat and blood was running down the heads of Price and Dale, but Herasiel was not even showing any sign of fatigue. It looked as if he was enjoying the entire carnage and had no trouble in keeping himself standing and fighting. The moment Collins saw this, he quickly unsheeted his blade, grabbed it tight and started to approach Herasiel with a rapid pace, only to be stopped easily with a little lift of the blade of Herasiel.
"A puny attack, of a pathetic Empirical Champion" Herasiel softly mentions into the face of Collins as he stood only inches away from Herasiel. The teeth of Collins could clearly be seen as he was using all his effort to kill Herasiel, and as soon as possible. By putting all his weight in the strike, the faces of the two warriors were awfuly close and they could even count the amount of hairs they had in front of their face.
"If you would open your mouth a little bit, champion" Herasiel softly mentions with a very calm face, as if he wasn't using any effort to protect himself from the full effort attack of Collins.
"If I would open my mouth, then what you bastard?!" Collins shouted at Herasiel as he saw Price crawling up intending to attack Herasiel now he is using his effort to defend himself against Collins.
"...I'd kiss you" Herasiel whispers back to Collins, in answer to his question. With a broad smile on his face.
Because of the words of Herasiel, Collins lost his strength and his grip became a lot weaker. The answer was unexpected and a clear 'what?' could easily be heard from Collins as his entire facial expression changed from furious to surprised. Naturally, Herasiel took advantage to this by pulling his sword back, and back forward, hitting the face of the falling Collins. While doing this all in a mere second of time, making a bad injury on the forehead of Collins. "He missed!" Collins could hear himself thinking as he fell to the ground.
"You!" Price screamed as he managed to push Herasiel, forcing him to miss his attack, but not falling to the ground. Herasiel only smiled to the reaction of Price.
"You bore me" Herasiel mentions as he grabs his sword with two hands. "I expected more from 4 champions of the Empire; you consider yourself elite?" Herasiel mockingly added to his sentence. His smile was very true, he fought and won from 4 champions without even breaking much of a sweat. 'Was he so much stronger than the calculations?' floated through Price and Collins' mind.
Collins' sight quickly went to Dale, who lay unconscious in one of the corners of the room. His head was bleeding, apparently he was hit by the back of the sword against the head of the brown haired man.

After a moment of quiet, Herasiel finally made his move by dropping the Empirical sword he picked up somewhere. "It is time we'd end this little game, isn't it?" Herasiel softly whispers as he reaches for his back, picking up his black spiked Cleaver-Axe. "Funny how things could change so easily, isn't it?" Herasiel mentions as he placed the cleaver in his hands. "Wind will be pleased with the death of four champions" Herasiel softly mentions as he looked at the three champions, one by one, ignoring Edgardo, who he killed only moments ago.
"Only if, and only if you can defeat us, Herasiel" Dale managed to mention as he stood up again.
"Recovered already?" Herasiel mentions with a surprise factor in his voice.
"Recovered? From what? You gave me all the time I need to rest. Now that you've exhausted yoursel-..." before Dale could finish his sentence, he was quiet already. Seeing no sweat, no shaking legs or any show of fatigue in his form, Dale could not offer any word anymore. Herasiel didn't have any problems pulling the best from the 3 champions. "No! Now Collins is here, we are once again, the famous combination of champions! You can't defeat us now, Herasiel!" Dale yelled at him. Knowing that it probably isn't true, but it was hopefully enough for a motivation for Price and Collins, who were more than 10 years younger than Dale is.
"How much percent was it again? 98% Success rate?" Herasiel softly mentions as he looks up to the sealing. Clearly mocking the three champions, intending to humiliate them.
It's 89% success rate, and I'll prove it to you," Terres Price confidentally mentioned as he grabbed his stuff again and stood up, while Dale and Collins are walking to Price as well, showing that they are the team with the best team work of the world. But even though the expressions on their faces look similar and confident, their thoughts were clearly asking themselves how a man could be strong enough to fight, and win from 3 champions.
"I was hoping for a real challenge, that's why I came here, but I find out that the strongest people of the Empire do not even stand a chance against me. Is Taos really that much stronger than you guys?" Herasiel asks, mocking the three once again. "After the golden man, I became bored with you. He was the only one who fought decent" Herasiel mentioned as he lifts his enchanted cleaver once again, ready to defend himself against whatever attack is avaiable.
"Collins, have you read about the skills of Herasiel?" Dale quickly asks as he tighten his grip a little tighter, ready to strike or defend against Herasiel, if necessary even though Herasiel did not have the eyes to attack someone any time soon.
"No, I didn't. Was there something I missed? I heard something that Herasiel has a normal fighting style" Collins whispered back to Dale.
"Tut, tut. Better do your homework next time, Stephan" Herasiel mentioned while putting his left index finger in front of his lips. Surprising all 3 champions that he was able to hear what Collins was saying.
With a loud sigh, Dale looked desperate at Collins. "Herasiel's information says that he is a man that is specialized in finding the weak spot of his opponent... and striking that" Dale explained. "A dangerous man indeed" floated through the mind of the three champions after the explanation of Dale. Fighting a man such as him, was complete suicide.

With a little 'dare' move of Herasiel, he finally reached the limit of Price's patience as he rushed Herasiel while running at him in a defensive form. "What? Afraid that I'll hurt you?" Herasiel mockingly replied as he simply took a step sidewards and using the shield that was surrounding his left wrist to block the effortless attack of Price. Without any moment to waste, the eyes of Herasiel sparkled for a little moment as he quickly pushed the back of his cleaver backwards, hitting Dale in the stomach that was effective instantly. Again without a moment to waste, the blade of Collins quickly followed to the face of Herasiel the moment Herasiel pushed the cleaver backwards.
"So, Price's attack was a decoy" Herasiel softly mumbles as he easily dodges the attack of Collins.
"Too wide swing, 12 critical open spots" Dale shouted as he quickly lifted his sword in an effortless decoy attack against Herasiel.
"13" Herasiel smilingly answers as he immediately take use of it and hitting Collins between the ribs. 'Bah, missed again' crossed Herasiel's mind as he felt a sword hitting the protected part of his ankle. It was unavoidable to hear Collins scream in pain as the cleaver cleaved through his armor into his flesh, making it an awful wound.
With no time to waste, Price quickly crawled up again and rushed Herasiel from behind, only to be stopped by the left hand of Herasiel. "Rushes are no-no against me, big boy" Herasiel mentioned as he used his left hand to push Price and open up spots to attack, this time, being careful of not getting a hit against his ankle, making it sure by kicking against the head of Dale.
The eyes of Herasiel went big for a mere moment as he saw Price losing his balance. "What?" Herasiel managed to say as he saw Price turning himself into mid air, dropping his blade and using his family dagger to stab Herasiel with.
"Hahaha! Worthy effort, champion! But you should know better!" Herasiel managed to say before Price fell to the ground, deciding not to attack Herasiel with his dagger. Dale's eyes became larger when he saw Price grabbing for his dagger and turning himself into mid-air, but was clearly dissapointed when Price decided not to do anything. 'Why' were the only words that came into the head of Dale when he saw Price fall to the ground.
"...no opening..." was the only thought that crossed Price's mind. "Herasiel showed no opening at all. His whole body was guarded" Price could only think of. Herasiel was not just 'the best' in finding the opponents weak spots, but he also knew how to guard his own body while he was fighting.
Collins held his hands on his ribs where the blood was streaming from. He was very badly injured, and didn't have the most chance of surviving is he wasn't treated fast. If he wouldn't get help fast, he would follow Edgardo.

"Herasiel!" was shouted as several soldiers came up the stairs, clearly surprising Herasiel as his entire facial expression changed.
"Bah, you spoil the fun!" Herasiel calls out, quickly increasing his pace to run up the stairs while th esoldiers quickly guard the entire room. He could not jump from up there, since the room they were fighting in, was the last room. Above that room, was nothing more than the roof.
It took a few moments before Price stood up and quickly followed Herasiel to the roof. Within a moment, they stood only several steps away from each other, looking at each other with a deadly stare.

"Terres Price, wasn't it?" Herasiel softly says, but in a far more serious tone than before.
A little nod from Price was all he got as an answer. "You're an impressive fighter, Herasiel" Terres managed to say as he lifted his blade once again.
"You're willing to continue? Even though you already lost?" Herasiel asks with still a serious look on his face and a lot of seriousness in the tone of his voice. The facial expression of Herasiel completely changed from a moment ago, and now. As if he was playing around when he was inside and that the playtime was over now he was outside again.
"Eventually, one of us will die in battle. If it is now, or later, it doesn't matter" Price mentions as the fire in his eyes could clearly be seen. His determination was like no other at that moment, and both Herasiel as he knew, that someone with such determination had a sudden boost in winning chances.
"Indeed, but do you want to die that soon already? You're still young" Herasiel softly mentions while placing his Cleaver on his shoulder for support, not taking the chances of sheeting the cleaver again.
"Who says I am the one who will fall in combat here?" Price mentions as he took a step forward, forcing to take the attention of Herasiel. Herasiel could easily find weaknesses from the opponent but something like that isn't what you just hear from a little voice in your head, you can only achieve that if you concentrate fully on your opponent(s) and calculate every movement he makes. In other words, Herasiel's instinct, sight, hearing and reflexes are superb.
"Dale found 12 openings in the defense of Collins when he attacked. I counted exactly 10, and you said 13. I sparred a lot with Dale and my strength is probably not too far from his. If he can count the openings just as easily as you, then you and he should be a little equal in something" Price said before pulling back his weapon, ready to strike Herasiel.
"Indeed, Dale found 12 openings, I found 13. But that doesn't say he can even be compared to me" Herasiel softly mentions as he deeply breaths and closes his eyes.
"My que!" raced through the mind of Price as he instantly pushed his blade forward, hitting the shoulder pad of Herasiel, forcing him to lose his balance a bit. "Come on, mister Fallen Angel! I'll let you 'fall' if you go on like this!" Price quickly spoke.
"Too much confidence, rookie!" Herasiel quickly mentions as he tightend the grip of his cleaver and used his shoulder to block the second attack of Prize, this time, without losing his balance.
"Confidence? No, it means that I'm superior!" Price quickly mentions as he prepares for a final wide swing. Pulling his arm a bit back and using his other arm as a shield for defense.
The moment Price's arm was on the right distance, he planned on taking a step forward and attacking Herasiel from short range, increasing the chances of success. Unfortunately, the plan quickly fell apart as Herasiel stepped on the toes of Price, forcing him to lose his balance. With a little extra agillity, the sudden hard knee-kick from Herasiel sent him in the sky.
"Fare thee well, Terres Price" Herasiel mentions as he sees Terres Price floating in mid-air in front of him while Herasiel pulled his arm back to make a wide swing to cut Price in half.
'The easiest ways are the best ways, that is my mistake' floated through the mind of Terres as he closed his eyes, knowing that his death was nearing.
"Hey, Terres" Herasiel managed to say before his swing, that instantly got the attention of Price. "All critical places are open" Herasiel mentioned as a broad smile crossed his face.

"Herasiel, catch!" could be heard right before his swing. It instantly took the attention of Herasiel as Terres fell to the ground and a dagger was thrown into his left arm, piercing right through his chainmail.
Herasiel's eyes grew large because of the sudden attack and how unexpected it was. He quickly watched who it was before he suddenly dissapeared, as if he never has been there.
Dale grabbed together all his guts and picked up the dropped dagger of Price and threw it was close to Herasiel as possible, coicidentally hitting the arm of Herasiel.
With a shocked look from both champions they looked each other with a smile on his face, knowing that Herasiel is no longer here in the stronghold. How he dissapeared, no one knows, but he's gone... for the time being.

"Hey, Terres" were the words that softly crossed the lips of the taller champion.
"What is it, Tyler?" Terres slowly replied with as he looked him in the eyes while lying on the ground, not having the strength of standing up just yet. Now that Herasiel is gone, nothing bad could happen for the first amount of minutes.
"I think I'm gonna retire..."

Dinner went completely different than I expected. I didn't have the courage to start a conversation since everyone was quiet. Alex was having a very worried look at Claes though, but Claes didn't show any expression. Laura still didn't seem to look at me, I must've done something wrong. Jessica, the mother, was litterally ignoring everything and was just quietly eating, just like Sean and Caitlin. Not knowing what to do, I just calmly ate, and took for granted what people did.
It was clear that Sean and Laura felt uncomfortable that I was around. It was also clear that Alex was worried about Claes and that Claes just ignored Alex. "I should try to talk with them" crossed my mind a million times when I sat there at the table, but I did not have the courage to mention even one word to them. In the hope that I would meet some of them later on the day, I decided to keep it like this.

After this post, there's a little more. I am sure the next part has enough of 1 post.

Like I expected, nothing happened during the entire meal, and I was together with Laura the last one who finished dinner. Apparently, Laura had a problem eating one of the... whatever it was what was lying on her plate.
I decided to place my plate away and walk back at her, for once, I wanted to talk with her. I wanted to know what was going on, why she disliked me so much, but still congratiulated me when I was accepted in the Strike Force.
"What is it?" she suddenly spoke up, looking me strict in the eyes, ignoring everything around her, just looking at me. The tone of her voice wasn't exactly the nicest tone I've ever hear a girl using before. She was clearly not fond on my pressence, but this time, I will have to bear it and still ask it, regardless what happens.
"I was wondering if we could talk" I decided to say, hoping that I could get a decenta nswer. "We didn't have a chance to have a decent conversation just yet" I added to it, hoping to get a normal answer instead of a punch in my face - like last time when I woke up. That was a painful memory that I can't seem to forget.
"You want to talk, Lince?" she questionable asks me looking at me with a confused look, not knowing what is going on. I only nodded in answer to her question, even though she already knew what I was going to answer with.
She shoved her plate to the side of the table, crossed her arms, made a more friendly expression on her face and looked at me. "What do you want to talk about?" was how she replied to me, a question that caught me completel off guard.
"Well, about you?" I said, not knowing what else I should say in this situation. To hear a question like that is completely unexpected, not many people ask such things, but just shoot a question to you, something random, but useful. A full improvisation question was all I could throw in, hoping to get a decent answer.
"Me?" she asked in surprise, not knowing what I was intending - not that I knew it myself - "err... what do you want to know about me?" she added to it, looking confused at me, not exactly knowing what to say either.
"Well, it looks as if you are always trying to avoid me..." I said, a bit dissapointed of pulling that subject back from the ground because I knew nothing else.
"I am not really avoiding you... I..." she managed to say and stood up, quickly looking around to find a way out. "I'm not avoiding you!" she shouts at me.
"Did I make her mad?" crossed my mind as I saw her facial expression slowly changing more mad. "Calm down, if you say you aren't, then I'll gladly believe you from your word, Laura" I slowly started. "But if there is something wrong, you can try to talk to me, I'm quite reliable... or so I was told" luckily, like I tried to do, my last sentence made a little smile crossing her face. Finally, I saw a different expression in her face, instead of the always hostile facial expression I finally saw a kind face, that was finally offering friendship.

It took minutes of time before any sound was made. We just sat there, not doing anything. Perhaps we were thinking of a subject to talk about, or maybe we couldn't find an option to do something. But finally, Laura started to mention something.
"You've met Alex already, right?" she softly whispers to me. Just loud enough for me to understand it. Even though she knew I already met Alex, I guess she wanted it to make sure that I knew who she was talking about, so a confirming nod was all she needed for an answer. "Alex is my boyfriend" she slowly whispered, hearing that, clearly caught me off guard, not knowing if I should believe my ears.
"He is your boyfriend?" I asked, full with surprise, not even knowing it a little bit. "I thought had a relationship with Claes!" I mentioned a bit too loud for her liking. I saw her facial expression changing yet again, this time, a bit more angry, which was very understandable.
"I'm afraid... that he likes Claes better, or perhaps Cherry..." she softly whispers to me. For some kind of reason, it was as if she trusted me now a lot more than before, but it felt more like a poor love story. Not having the real love of her life, or something like that, I was never all that fond on romance and all that. Maybe it would come with the ages, but right now, I could care less, but if it would help Laura right now, then I would do what I could do... but, who was Cherry?
"Who is Cherry" was something I logically asked. I know Claes, but who in the world is Cherry? I haven't met anyone just yet and the name doesn't ring any bell for me either.
"Cherry is another girl from one of the houses here. She's a friend of Alex and me" Laura mentioned as she sighed right afterwards. She was not very fond on Cherry, her friend and Claes, her sister anymore after knowing that her boyfriend, Alex could be interested in them. It is very understandable, and I accepted it.
"Maybe I could find out, Laura. Perhaps Alex would tell me, as far as he knows, he doesn't know we had contact just yet" I mentioned as I pushed the hair out of my face again, that fell back right away again.
"I'll talk to him"

---

"Who are you?! Where am I?!" was shouted by a black haired man, still holding his cleaver in his right hand while desperatly looking around - but nothing could be seen. It was a dark room with no light anywhere. No sign of light, no sign of walls, it was a huge dark and most of all, empty room. "Anyone here?!" the man called out!
"Don't be impatient, Herasiel" could suddenly be heard as a door opened and light only fell from there. The hand of Herasiel quickly went up as the sudden light hurts his eyes.
"Who are you?!" Herasiel called out in the hope to learn who he was dealing with.
"Instead of asking who I am, I want you to listen to my offer, an offer that might prove to the point in facing Taos in combat again" the man laughingly explained to Herasiel, who was completely under his control right now.
"Not interested. When Wind and I attack the Empire itself, he'll show up as well" Herasiel explained, knowing that he still held all strings in his hands.
"And when will that be? Taos is a resident in the Central Palace, not some random stronghold around" the man pushed the facts to Herasiel.
"It'll take a while, I'll accept that, and in the mean time, I can train hard enough to become equals, or perhaps even stronger than Levens." Herasiel fought back in his words.
"What if I could offer you an attack to the Empire in a matter of months? It will definitely be sooner than Wind can offer you, with her small team" the man explained.
"Small team or not, it is more effective than the Empire" Herasiel laughed it off.
"Not the elite. But very well, I want you to take this into consideration" the man explained as he turned around.
"Without seeing your face, eh, bastard?" crossed Herasiel's thoughts as he looked at the man with a dirty look. "And if I accept it, what should I do?" Herasiel asked before the man left.
"Kill Wind. Tell her that a man named 'Blackdeath' has sent you" the man mentioned.
"Killing Wind is not an easy task. What kind of proof do I have that you'll offer me Taos?" Herasiel enquired.
"None. Kill Wind, and you shall meet me again" the man told him.
"And who is this Blackdeath?" Herasiel continued his spree of questions.
"I am" the man answered with. "Enough of your questions. Leave now!" the man named Blackdeath mentioned. Right after Blackdeath announced that Herasiel should leave, the door automaticly closed and another door opened.
"A gamble, hm?" Herasiel softly whispered to himself. "Interesting" Herasiel added to his previous sentence by softly whispering to himself.
While walking away, the thought of killing Wind was something very attractive to Herasiel, while licking his lips the thought came to him.
"Taos Levens, prepare yourself"

After hearing what Laura said to me, I just couldn't get it out of my head. I told her that I'd talk to Alex about it, but the problem is, I don't know this family, his family or any family out here well. I have no rights in hands, and I don't know what I can do, and what they can do. But, I did promise to help her, I did promise to talk with Alex about the subject. Coming to the point of being cheat on by her sister or friend can come as quite a shock, mentally. It would surely be painful, that is for sure.
I don't know those feelings. The only girl I had feelings for was Jade Dembi, my companinion in our travels, but I don't even know if she's alive. And even if she was, I don't think she would want to see me ever again. I did led us to a dangerous place, and I still don't know how I survived. But the most important is, I did survive, thanks to the family Bridge. "Could it be that Mason found me?" shot through my thoughts all of a sudden. "I remember traveling through a dangerous area, but how arrogant Jade and I were, we didn't pay any heed to the protective words of what people told us. We just went on, and found out that the creatures that roamed there were far stronger than we were. Was Mason traveling through that area?" my thoughts went on. There were too many thoughts about myself, thinking about Laura and Alex's problem was yet another bother on my mind - but I am not a man who easily breaks his promises. Laura was really desperate when it comes to this, and Alex just isn't loyal... "this looks more and more like a half assed love story" my mind started to continue it with.
"But still, Laura is one of the family members who saved me from death, I have to be grateful for that. It is only logical that I am in their debt, and that I should repay it, somehow" my mind explained to me. Something that I didn't even know what was possible.
"But what about my invitation from Mason Bridge to the strike force of the Empirical Waterfall Valley camp? Should I really visit them in the morning, or should I rather stay here and help if necessary?" my mind added to it. Without any further thought, my mind was interupted by a little knock on the door, that I quickly answered with, 'come in'.

Without any hesitation, the door was opened and Alex walked in. "You called, Lince?" Alex mentioned the moment he placed his first step in the room, looking at me with a questionable face. It was clear that he wasn't aware that I was talking with Laura about him. He took his time closing the door and walking towards me. In a moment, he stood before me, looking down on me since I was sitting on the bed, still with the bandage around my ribs.
It took me a while before I could say anything. I was afraid of getting in a fight with this bear of a man. Even though his personality is completely different from his body, his length and big muscles did made me feel uncomfortable. Alex was looking at me, with a bold head, no hair was growing on it. "You'd wonder if he used his own ways of removing it, or if it was naturally. Whichever it was, it gave him a very tough look. In opposite of my long hair that I have yet to cut (Fladian note: Hey, I just had my hair cut, just a few days ago)" my mind told me while I was resting my eyes on the muscular body of Alex. "Come to think of it, I don't even know Alex's last name, but then again, I didn't know the last name of this family since recently either" I chuckled a bit while thinking, making Alex look only less comfortable.
"A huge man like him, muscular like a real fighter, extremely tall and looking as tough as Jason Sharpe. You'd start to wonder if Alex isn't family of Sharpe, they looked quite similar to each other" again I chuckled at my own thoughts what made Alex slightly annoyed as he asked again why he had to come. Finally, I looked him in the eyes and stood up from the bed, noticing that our change in height changed as well when I had a sudden change of muscles. Even though I can remember that Alex was a full head taller than me, that "full head" isn't more than a few inches.
"Alex, I've talked with Laura..." I started, whispering. For some reason, I wished that he didn't hear me right, but my mind was also asking myself why that would be the case. I promised Laura that I would talk with Alex about his relationship with Cherry and Claes, and I would be fond to hear it as well. But knowing what I could expect from Alex, there was something in my mind that didn't want him to hear it. After a moment of thought after saying it, Alex slowly moved his lips.
"Oh, so you've finally talked with Laura. You told me that you had trouble trying to get a decent conversation with her, how did it go?" Alex asked me with pure delight in his eyes, looking at me with a kind look, clearly not knowing what my real intentions were. He knew that I had problems to get a conversation with Laura so, he probably thought that I finally was able to talk with her after all that time.
"No, Alex... I mean... I..." I started, knowing that I couldn't say it at all. I knew I couldn't live with the consequences. My body couldn't survive heavy stress just yet, and if it would go wrong, who knows what Alex might do. For all I know, he would try to do something to me, if that was the case, then my body would definitely collapse, and who knows what might happen then. "Laura told me that you are her boyfriend!" I finally blurted out, while I had my eyes closed, partly showing that I had trouble saying it.
"Yes, that's true. What's with it?" Alex asked me, still not knowing what I actually tried to say. You could easily read his face that he was confused and had no idea what I was trying to say. "Did you expect that I was just a friend of the family?" he added to it, with a grim smile on his face, not really trying to be funny, but more pushing on the facts than anything else. But after a moment of silence, he continued asking, "is there something wrong with that?" with a questionable look on his face, clearly showing that he wasn't aware of what was going on at all.
I finally took a deep breath and asked Alex if he knew a certain girl named 'Cherry', which he easily answered with a nod. I quickly asked after it who she exactly was.
"Cherry McLeo, little sister of Jerrell McLeo. She lives in the third house here. As you know, there are three houses here. In this house, the family Bridge, usually live Sean, Claes, Laura, Jessica, Mason, Dirk and Caitlin. In the McLeo's house, Cherry lives there together with her brother, Jerrell. As for the family Jenkins, I live there together with my two brothers Barry and Ike, both are Empirical soldiers here. Barry is part of the Strike Force and Ike of the defense. I also have one sister named 'Ashley', but doesn't come much out of her room... please, don't ask" Alex mentioned as he looked down to the ground, trying to avoid the subject.
I looked at Alex with an open mouth, clearly showing that he gave far more information than I was in need of. "Err... right, according to Laura, you seem to hang out a lot with Cherry and Claes, right?" I mentioned, without even being aware of what I was doing. I sounded more and more like an old fashioned detective. Alex mentioned that too that made a broad smile on both our faces.
"Uh... yeah, especially lately. Is there something wrong with that?" Alex asked me, completely unaware of what I was intending. His eyes looked honest to me, and didn't show any bit of confusement, he looked at me with honest eyes and patiently waiting for my answer.
"Uh... if possible, could you give me a proper introduction with Cherry and Claes?" I asked, trying to fill up the sudden hole. I expected that he would know what I was talking about at that very moment, but apparently I was wrong, and I had to ask it a bit more clear than before. Finally I decided to be introduced to both Claes and Cherry, so I could hear from them what they felt for Alex. If Alex was indeed feeling more for Cherry or Claes, then, well... I don't know what I'd do then, but I'll notice that eventually. First, I want to know what they think of Alex. But the moment I asked it, I could see the face of Alex changing completely. It was if he was waiting until I asked the question, like he wanted me to ask it. His face shined, it was clear to see that he was happy. His eyes became larger, his face somewhat longer and a smile started to appear on his now happy looking face. Within a minute, his face was the face of a man that just heard his child managed to get a good grade in school, or anything similar.
"Of course!" Alex suddenly mentioned, as he looked at me with a happy face. "Of course I will introduce you to Cherry and Claes if you want! They are my best friends!" Alex quickly corrected himself while he gave the expression that he was ready to hug me for my kindness while I was only trying to figure something out for Laura. "It is no problem to introduce you with Cherry!" Alex shouted in my face while having an incredible happy facial composure. It was more clear than water that he was happy hearing the words from me and he was more happy that he was able to introduce them to me. "But even though it is easy with Cherry, it might be a little problem with Claes" Alex softly mentioned at a certain moment while his smile slowly dissapeared from his face and a finger came up that pushed against his chin.
"Why's that?" I quickly reacted with as I looked at Alex with strict and worried eyes. I knew from the start that Claes was a tad different from everyone in this area - what includes me - "but she can't be too different when it comes to introductions, right?" I asked myself as I kept starring at Alex who remained happy but his happy expression completely changed to a thinking stature. Knowing that he was in thoughts, I decided not to ask him anything regarding the subject and just wait for a reaction of Alex himself.
"Well... Claes isn't the girl who likes to get in touch with anyone..." Alex softly mentions with a sad looking face, clearly showing that didn't like the fact that she was a complete loner. "Even though she and I are good friends, it took a long time before we got this far" Alex softly mentioned as he looked at me with a worried face. His smile completely dissapeared and a sad looking face took it's position while he kept looking at me.
"Why? Is there something wrong?" I asked as I looked at Alex, showing that I had no idea what was going on. Because of Claes, I forgot my intention of helping Laura as well while I kept starring at Alex.
"Sort of, yes. Do you want me to tell you?" Alex asks me as his facial expression stayed the same, still looking worried while being a bit uncomfortable. His face was extremely clear, and you could read exactly what he was thinking and how he was feeling. It was as if he knew nothing better and just tried to blurt something out, but his face was clearly showing that he was telling the truth. (Note of Fladian: I'm starting to use "clear" and "clearly" a bit too much to my liking) But even though it is the truth, why should it be a problem to talk with Claes? After a moment of silence, I finally nodded as in reply to his question.
"Well Lince, you better take a seat" Alex mentioned as he took a chair and sat on it, only having a bit of space between of us, clearly he was planning of telling me something that he wasn't fond of on telling.
I took his advice and took a more comfortable sitting stance on the bed while I kept looking in Alex's clear eyes. He was truly speaking the truth and in his eyes, I could see something... burning. As if something awful happened with Claes that I could not even start to understand without seeing it.
"You see, Claes isn't from this family" Alex started...

"Dale, wait!" the blonde man screamed as the hair was sticking to the sides of his face. In opposite to his other blonde companion, he was wet and his armor was shining bright. While Dale, the other blonde man, was walking with a slow pace throughout the halls in his normal daily clothes while his head was carefully bandaged because of previous injuries, the wet Terres Price was walking right next to him, trying to stop Dale from moving, what didn't seem to work right. Not only was Dale much stronger than Price, Price was also tired.
"Dry yourself, before entering the castle halls, Price" Tyler Dale softly mentioned as he reached a large gate that was placed in front of him. Several soldiers were looking at them, looking at their champions who fought bravely against the no.1 threat, Herasiel.
"Cut the act, Dale!" Price yelled out, showing everyone that he finally snapped and was mad at his companion who were known to be one of the strongest combinations of the world. "I'm not going to let you talk to lord Glodich!" Price yelled in the calm looking face of Dale, scaring most of the people around them. It is not that Price or Dale looked scary or anything similar, it was the fear that they may break apart. They already lost their hero, Edgardo in battle, they don't want to lose the combination of Collins, Dale and Price as well. Their reputation is great among the soldiers.
"Price!" a black haired man suddenly screamed to Price as he looked at him, strict in the eyes, even though being a full head taller than him. The man looked down at Price, with a strict look, clearly showing that he wanted the argument, whatever it was about, to stop.
"Ezra" Price softly mentioned as he stopped touching Dale and looked at the taller man named 'Ezra'.
"Look, that's Ezra Ramos!" one of the bystanders pointed out as all sudden looks went to the short haired Ezra who carried two swords on his back, clearly showing that both swords are heavily enchanted in their own way.
Ezra's eyes quickly looked around, seeing all soldiers looking at him. "Price, if Dale wants to talk with our Emperor, let him. He has all the rights to do it" Ezra softly spoke as he looked at Price with a more kinder look this time, while he placed his hand on the broad shoulder of Terres. "Just let him..." Ezra mentioned as his eyes lost their composure and a sad look on even the tall Ezra could be seen. Even though Ezra was taller than both Price as Dale and his face was just as strict as Dale's face, even he could get sad.
Finally Tyler Dale turned around, looking at the crew that formed them selves behind Ezra, Price and Dale. "Ezra, Price, everyone, fighting Herasiel showed me that the new generation is a lot more talented than us veterans. I am already over date, I shouldn't have been fighting anymore" Dale announces as he looks over the view, not specifically looking at one person, but just trying to speak to them all. "Herasiel will become the strongest threat to the Empire, and Price will become the strongest soldier" Dale added to it while looking at Price with a strict look on his face. "Price was the only man who dared to oppose Herasiel in a one man combat, something that I don't have the courage for", Dale mentioned as he looked back at the crowd who looked at Price and Dale with sad eyes.
"I've seen many people here in the Empire. I have seen multiple generations fighting, but I see that Terres Price has the most potential to become the best soldier of the Empire" Dale finally mentions as he turns around, once again, holding his back to the crowd while they start to become more chaotic.
"That isn't a reason to leave us, Dale! You are our commander!" Bernard Fire, one of the rookie soldiers suddenly shouts out above all others. "Tyler Dale is the commander!" Bernard added to it. "Dale, Price and Collins is world's best combination! I don't want to see it lose!" Bernard shouts out, while tears stream down his face. The blonde-red haired man runs forward, reaching Dale in a moment who turned around when Bernard yelled out what he did.
"Don't leave!" a man with a huge mustache and beard mentions. Cluttered in armor, he steps forward out of the crowd as well. Carrying a huge shield attached to his right arm and an axe carried on his back he walks forward to Dale as well.
"Kain Archor, Bernard Fire, isn't it?" Dale softly mentions as he sees the two men walk forward to him. "I've been at my peak, I am exhausted. I need to give the helm to the younger generation" Dale softly whispers to both soldiers who are only inches away from the tall Dale. "We lost a lot of soldiers in combat, we also lost Edgardo but I, as an old man survived" Dale mentions softly, while tears stream down his face. "It isn't fair. Edgardo could have go on for so much longer... if only I wouldn't have rested for such a long time" Dale cryingly mutters.
"It isn't your fault, Dale" Ezra finally mentions after being quiet for a long time. While placing an arm around the shoulder of Dale, while pushing Price out of the way he looks at his superior, Tyler Dale. "We all fight with odds. When Edgardo, Price and you were together, we thoughts we had the advantage. He didn't know" Ezra mutters as he whispered confidental words in the ear of Dale that was sadly memorizing Edgardo and his actions.
"I want a funeral for Edgardo above anything else!" Dale suddenly spoke up as he pushed away his tears and looked into the crowd with a stern look on his face.

Without any hesitation, the door to the hall opened and one man comes out of the hall. The man, cluttered in royal armor, claps his hands softly with a huge smile on his face.
"Did you hear that, Empirical soldiers?" the clapping man asks with a very comfortable smile on his face. A smile that melts all worries away without any delay. "This man, Tyler Fernando Dale, once winner of the loyalty title is the model you should try to follow" the clapping man mentioned as he looked into the crowd, not fearing his own life, but only praising Dale.
"Lord Glodich!" Price blurts out as he looks at the face of the smiling man. As if the man did not care if Dale would leave the Empire or not, Lord Glodich kept smiling. It was good to see a smile out of the sad expressions around, but maybe not the best idea of trying to forget something. Everyone knew that everyone was sad, and that they were remembering their lost hero, Edgardo.
"Price, Ezra" Lord Glodich nodded as he mentioned their names and slowly increased his pace and walked towards the crying Dale.
"I am not worthy of being called a "model", my lord" Dale finally spoke as Lord Glodich was slowly approaching Dale. "I did not dare to fight with Herasiel, even if it was at the cost of the lives of my companions" Dale spoke, with sadness in his voice, knowing that he is right and that he is not worthy of such an honor.
"Don't be like that, Dale. You've served the Empire better than most people, and we are honored to have had you fighting on our side. You deserve a great retirement" Lord Glodich mentioned as he looks at Dale with a friendly smiling face. Glodich was not planning on giving up his words he just said. It was true what he said and Dale was one of the soldiers who served the Empire for a long time without hesitation. Even when he could retire, he said 'no' with no hesitation in his voice. But now, after defeat by Herasiel, it could not be denied that Herasiel was of the new generation and just too strong for old veterans, even though they have more experience.
"Lord Glodich, the Empire is always in the debt of sir Dale, at the very least, I would like to do something in return" the large man, Ezra mentioned as he looked at Lord Glodich with a sad face. "I would like to request a squadron of brave soldiers to take revenge for Edgardo and in appreciation of Dale's service" Ezra spoke as he looked into the crowd, clearly showing that he wanted volunteers.
"I do not approve that, sir Ezra" Lord Glodich suddenly spoke up as he looked up at Ezra who quickly turned his head after hearing the Emperor's reaction.
"W-Why not?" Ezra stutterly asks as he looks at the Emperor.
"I do not approve it either" a tall man out of the crowd spoke up as he walked forward throughout the crowd. Coverred in heavy armor and a huge two-handed sword carried on his back, the man, who carries a large horned-helmet looks at Ezra.
"Lord Taos! Taos Levens!" Price shouted as his mouth fell open as he looked at the tall swordmaster. "You are lord Taos, aren't you?" Price quickly asks, hoping to get a confirmation of his answer. Taos only nodded to his answer as his view quickly went to Ezra, who is only inches taller than the tall Taos. Remarkable, since Taos is one of the taller soldiers of the Empire. Pure coincidence, "and it would be better if I was shorter" Taos mentioned on it.
"Ezra Ramos, isn't it?" Taos softly mentions as he stood next to Ezra, waiting for Lord Glodich to mention anything. Anything what would be necessary.
"Yes sir, I am Ezra. Is there anything you want?" the tall man softly asks Taos as he didn't move his view from Lord Glodich for even a moment.
"Ezra, I think Taos has something to say to you" the Emperor, lord Glodich softly spoke as he kindly looked at Ezra with the smiling never dissapearing from his face. Lord Glodich looked like a very happy man, but after the loss of his wife, he has been more sad than happy, but not in front of the people.
"Y-Yes, sir?!" Ezra asked as he quickly turned to Taos while keeping his back straight, trying to keep an as much as possible formal pose as possible.
"Hey, hey, don't be so formal to me, Ezra. We've been of the same squadron" Taos laughingly spoke, hoping to get a better mood. A little smile did appear on some people's faces, but the fact that Dale was retiring wasn't dissapearing. The large smile on the face of lord Glodich was still there as well, not mentioning anything, but smiling to his friendly champions.
"Well then, lord Taos, what is it?" Ezra quickly changed his way of words with a big smile on his face, clearly mocking Taos with a joke what in result gave a little chuckle to the few champions around him.
"I do not see why you want to hunt down Herasiel. For one, you don't know where he can be found-..." before Taos could even finish his sentence he was interupted by the loud voice of Collins.
"Dale, Price, Herasiel has been spotted near the Cresent Islands!" Collins shouted to them from several stores above them. "Sir Black is asking to come to him on the double!" Collins quickly spoke as he ran back to where he came from.
With the gesture of 'oh well', Price quickly ran through the crowds to go to Collins and Black. Even though the retirement of Dale was something important, the problem with Herasiel was something far more important.
"Taos, isn't it time to go with them again?" Lord Glodich smilinly asks Taos, while looking him in the eyes. No stern look or anything similar, just the friendly look that lord Glodich usually gives.
"No, sir" Dale softly mentions as he turns towards Taos and Lord Glodich while the crowd is disembeling for other missions. Though they are saddened by the loss of sir Edgardo and the retirement of sir Dale, missions are perhaps more important. "I will be going with them. Lord Black asks for my assistence, and I will apply" Dale mutters somewhat unclear, but nods with a lot of agreement.
"Wait! Herasiel's already had the best of you two not even a day ago! I'll go with you" Ezra shouts while pushing his fist upwards, showing that he is completely serious. "It has been a while since I've fought side on side with you guys" Ezra mentions while a large and broad smile crossed the face of the tall man.
"Ezra, go with them. I'll search for more people that are capable of fighting Herasiel to go with you as well. There won't be another loss of Herasiel" Taos shouts out, showing that he has no intention of fighting Herasiel himself.
"What are you going to do, Taos?" Dale spoke up, surprising most of the people around, excluding lord Glodich who took his leave again and left for his own room again without anyone really noticing that he left their pressence. Taos, Dale and Ezra were more discussing other things.
"Magnazar asked me if I could assist him to Hinja's Valleys, that is in the middle of the Wind mages section" Taos explained, while kindly pointing it out. "Magnazar wasn't confident if he could defeat them all, and he said that the third book could perhaps be found there" Taos went on. Not only did he say that he was leaving to the Hinja's valleys, he also mentioned that he would send some of his best soldiers with Dale and his companions to find Herasiel.
"Send them to the Entrace of the castle, we'll ask Muriel to teleport us" Dale mentioned as he unsheeted his blade and left the pressence of Ezra and Taos who both left shortly after.
"Don't lose, Dale" Taos whispered as he used his own pace of walking to his destination.

"Herasiel, what is going on?" a man that looked somewhat similar to Herasiel asked the black haired man who walked next to him.
"That man! Blackdeath! He said he had an offer for me!" Herasiel shouted out, inspiring his thieves to continue their pillaging. Herasiel managed to get a group of Fallen Angels with him to get food supplies for their base. Herasiel ordered his men, and his brother, to leave for the closest village and take as many supplies with them as possible. Herasiel and Aurora would offer protection, if necessary.
"I don't care if he made an offer to you or not, Herasiel. You're injured!" Aurora shouted out to his brother who has his left under arm bandaged. The thrown dagger of Dale did injure Herasiel but not enough to stop him.
"This is only a scratch. It's gone in a few days." Herasiel muttered as didn't even bother looking at the red color on his bandage.
"Herasiel, that wound is far too big to just go and do missions with. Just trust me, let me do the work, you just go and rest. The more you rest, the faster it hea-..." before Aurora could even finish his sentence, a loud and painful hit from Herasiel's right hand was carefully place on the face of Aurora, instantly knocking him out.
"Be quiet already..." Herasiel muttered as he grabbed his left arm with his hand. "Damn you, Dale. I'll promise you, I'll slay your entire Empire where you are so proud of..." Herasiel could only thief of. He knew that he couldn't break down the entire Empire on his own, but he knew it would be a possibility with the help of internal help - Blackdeath - and his brother - Aurora - combined with their skills.
"The Empire isn't that strong..." Herasiel muttered to himself as he looked at his soldiers that were pillaging the village. "Pathetic is it..." Herasiel muttered...

---

"Zane?" Price spoke as he saw a long black haired man approach Price outside. The long haired man gave a little nod to confirm the expectations of Price as they approached each other.

"Zane, Ezra, Price, Dale, Collins and Dain is a good enough team of champions, isn't it, lord Glodich?" Taos mentioned as he looked at the Emperor while looking from a tower far higher than where the 6 men could see.
"Yes, they should be strong enough. Did you count injuries?" the Emperor asks, this time, without a smile but with a serious look on his face.
"I did. No mistakes are permitted with Herasiel" Taos mentioned as his face looked even more strict than Lord Glodich's.
"I'm sorry I can't send you with them... I'm also sorry I had to make you lie, Taos" Glodich softly whispers as he looked at Taos with a worried look on his face, the complete opposite of what is used of lord Glodich.
"Don't worry about it, my lord. I'll protect Chelsea, no matter what happens" Taos mentioned as he turned his head to the black haired girl behind them.
"I'll protect you..."

With my eyes focused on the face of Alex, I listened carefully as he finally moved his lips to tell me what was special with Claes, as he mentioned before. I already learned that Claes was different from the others and that she has an exceptional name, but that can't be that strange. If Alex looks at me with the facial expression like this, then there must be something going on, something important that I knew nothing about.
"You see, Lince. Claes isn't from this family" Alex finally mentioned after a moment of silence with a worried look on the face of Alex. Even though Alex looked at me only a moment ago with a happy face, he was now looking at me as if his best friend was at the edge of his life even though he was only telling me something.
"She isn't?" I asked, not really understanding what Alex meant. Claes didn't have much difference in her appearance with Caitlin or Laura. As a matter of fact, if you would change the style of hair and some minor details, than Laura and Claes would look similar to each other. Or was that the reason why Laura would be angry? Jealousy?
"She isn't... I should tell you the entire story, Lince" Alex spoke as he sighed while moving his lips. It was easy to see that Alex wasn't fond on telling what he was going to tell, no, it looked more as if he was trying to keep a secret but was at the brink of breaking his promise to keep the secret. But what kind of secret could say something like that, or at least, what is so special about Claes, except her name.
"3 Years ago, the man of the house, Mason Bridge, commander of the strike force, made a little exploration with a small group of soldiers. After doing this for days in the hope of finding tracks of the recent thieves from those times, they finally gave up after losing their motivation. Unfortunately for Mason, the moment he turned around, he saw smoke out of a village nearby. Without hesitation, according to Mason, he ordered his men to go there without delay." Alex explained to me without tolerating of being interrupted just once. I was surprised that he was telling more about Mason than Claes, I knew nothing about this after all.
"When Mason and his men arrived in the village, he found a village that was burned down to the ground with no survivers. Those who did survive the carnage, of whoever did this, was crushed by the buildings that caved in" Alex explained, clearly showing that he found it a horror of what happened there. It was impossible that people would destroy an entire village for no particular reason. I quickly asked if there was anyone of importance in the village the attacker would've attacked only to receive a shaking 'no' answer from Alex. "There was no one there. It was just a normal village! Nothing special!" Alex screamed at me while tears started to form in my eyes. "There was no one of importance to anyone there... but my parents were there" Alex softly mentioned as he looked to the ground, finally letting me understand why he was not keen on telling this. But still, it had nothing in common with Claes. Claes hasn't even been mentioned just yet. After Alex became a bit calmer, I softly asked him what this had to do with Claes.
"Claes was standing in the town center... alone" Alex hickingly mentioned as he looked at me with tears in his eyes. "She was the only surviver of the village. But she couldn't remember anything except basic things, like her name and other things like that" Alex mentioned as he looked back to the ground. Now I understand why Alex was so keen on his friendship with Claes. "Probably because of a mental shock, Claes doesn't talk much to people she doesn't know and tries to avoid everyone" Alex spoke with a less hicking voice, clearly showing that he was recovering from the shock. But I suddenly felt sorry for Claes, being one of the people who was part of the huge carnage of the village, but the sorry of mine could not be taken equal with the misery of Alex. Both people had a huge shock from it, and being involved with a carnage of such size, I can understand why Claes became such a loner type, a type that does not like to be around others. When something similar like that may happen again.
"Lince, can you remember when I slapped Claes?" (Fladian Note: Second part of the 'If, and only if', the introduction of Alex) Alex suddenly mentioned, looking at me with shocking eyes, more hostile than anything else. A face that was the complete opposite of how he looked at me before when I asked him to be introduced to Claes and Cherry.
"Yes, it was just a fight, wasn't it?" I asked, though not really with the same intention as how I asked it. I can remember it as if it was the same day, and Alex's face looked furious back then and Claes did nothing in return. She just placed her hand on her cheek and refused to look me in the eyes - not that it was surprising. But even if it was a fight or not, the faces of both Claes and Alex did not match at that certain moment. They truly looked as if they were having a fight, but I was missing an important factor of that moment; rage. None of them was seriously mad at one of them. Even though Alex looked angry at her, it was something different, it was being angry because he was worried, not angry because he was mad at her. Different, but in an other way, similar to each other.
"No, Lince, it wasn't "just" a fight." Alex mentioned as he looked back to the ground, ignoring the environment around him. He fell back in the darkness he just crawled out from moments ago by saying simple words as that. Alex was a strong man physical, but apparently weaker mentally. His reaction when I could see my body, the face he had when he slapped Claes, the moment he spoke of his brother, Ike and now this, though this part remains understandable. But it just remains remarkable that a large muscular man like this is weak mentally, though you see it more often, it just felt strange while just looking at him.
"If it isn't, then what was it?" I managed to say before Alex raised his hand, gesturing that I had to be quiet because he was planning of saying something.
"Lince, would you be worried if Claes would leave the house during the night time from time to time only to return in the morning?" Alex asked me as he moved his head closer to mine with a stern facial expression. The expression like he gave only moments ago as well, but more strict this time, more demanding for an answer. His eyes were tearing my apart, demanding words from me, demanding to hear my opinion about the subject.
"Of course I would!" I shouted at Alex, not even knowing that I raised my voice as much as I did. I was apparently far louder than I expected that I was. I thought I was just trying to let him know that I felt the same way, of course I would be worried as well, even though Alex knows Claes better than I do, it is still something of me to stay caring for the people who...'ve helped me.
"Then you know what I slapped her. At least once a month, she leaves the house to return only in the morning! Come on! It is really freaking me out!" Alex shouted at me, while tears started to form in his eye casses again. This desperate call was the confirmation for me that he had no love relationship with Claes, it was pure being worried about her instead of the love. Though I know nothing about Cherry, it is good to hear such about Claes. But it feels hard to believe that Claes is leaving in the night. It is not like you can go anywhere from this area. It is a small farm with 3 houses and that's about it. Walking to the strike force stronghold is not the best idea either during the night. I wonder what she has been doing.
I quickly placed my hand on the shoulder of Alex, and reassured him that everything is fine. Whatever she does during the night, it isn't dangerous. If it was, she wouldn't be here with us anymore. Though asking him if she told him where she is going was clearly a mistake of mine. Tears streamed down his face as he could only shake his head, gesturing that he didn't know where she is going all those times.
"She sometimes gets a letter that she hides from us, I can't find it either, after she reads that letter, she always acts a bit strange and leaves during the night when most of us are sleeping" Alex mentioned as he kept starring to the ground, not having the courage or strength to look up to me. It was painful to see Alex like this as I kept my hand on his shoulder, still trying to reassure him.
"Have you read the letters before you gave to her?" I softly asked as I did not change my composure.
"Yes, twice" Alex mentioned, clearly showing that he read the letter twice. "It's a foreign language, I can't read it. Mason can't read it either" Alex explained to me. It is only logical that it is a secret hand writing. But is following her not the best idea then?
"Did you followed her?" I asked, clearly hearing that I was getting more desperate as I now pushed his face up to look in the eyes that were soaked with eyes.
"Yes! I did! But she always find out that I'm following her! Nowadays, she is always leaving while I'm sleeping" Alex explained to me, still showing that he was very worried about Claes, very worried about her safety during the night. Everyone would be worried if a friend would disappear during the night while that friend would say nothing about it.
"Alex, I'll try and talk with Claes about it..." I softly mentioned. Even though I knew that Alex would protest against it, he could see the determination in my eyes that I was not planning on giving it up, and not even had the slightest idea of giving it up. I was planning of finding out what she was doing, and had no intention of letting anyone stop me from doing that.
Alex finally stood up and left the room while he was trying to hide the fact that his face was soaked with tears. He used 3 years of time to become friends with Claes, but even though they are the best of friends, she wouldn't tell her where she was going while leaving the house during the night. Something like that is clearly mentally painful - to everyone.

"You must be Terres Price" a tall sized black haired man asked Terres as he approached him. The long sword what was stored on the man's back was pushed from the left to the right and back because of his strange style of walking. But even though his walking style was... different, the way he walked was also keeping all his weaknesses covered except for one.
"Zane Duran?" Price softly mentions as he saw the tall man walk towards the group of 4 people existing out of Collins, Dale, Ezra and himself. The man only nodded in reply after Price confirmed his expectations.
"Zane Duran?" Collins whispered to Dale, clearly showing that he didn't know who it was. A little smile appeared on Dale's face after hearing the unexpected question of Collins.
"Zane Duran, master of the sword. That's his nickname throughout the Empire" Dale whispered back at Collins. "Rumor has it that he was an equal of lord Taos in both their younger years. Because of a critical injury in Duran's knee, he could not continue his duals with Taos" Dale added to it. Clearly showing that Zane Duran was a man that is probably on the top of the 5 soldiers. Zane Duran was a man that was well known throughout the Empire since he was one of the favorite training partners of world talent, Taos Levens. But unfortunately, during a certain training, Duran got injured on his knee and had to look at what the Empire did because he could barely walk, not to mention making swift movements as a soldier from his style. Someone who fights with one weapon without a shield is known very well for his evading skills. But since Duran lost his way of avoiding attacks and could not re-adjust to fight with a shield, he became even less than the average soldier. But after careful investigation and rehabilitation, Duran's knee slowly recovered until only recently when the doctors declared it was completely OK and Zane Duran could slowly start going back to the battlefield. But even though Zane Duran hasn't been on the battlefield for a long time, his skills on the battlefield were as impressive as ever. While his legs were in horrible shape, Duran trained his upper body because he could not train anything else. After the long amount of time of his rehabilitation, Duran increased in physical strength of his upper body, able to give the hardest hit in the history of the Empire. In the hope to defeat Taos, Duran kept training his upper body until he was completely satisfied with his strength.
At this moment, it is clear that Zane Duran is interested in fighting the man who could be compared with Taos - Herasiel. One or two clean hits should be all he need to dispose of Herasiel, but Duran knows well enough that he can't get to Herasiel that easily. According to Dale's report, Herasiel is more skilled in evading attacks than Taos is. But now with Duran's fully recovered body, he is more than eager to try out how strong Herasiel exactly is. It is also clear that Zane Duran is as an individual, much more dangerous than the famous combination of Dale, Collins and Price who started the fight while 2 of the three were both injured and exhausted.

Well, there are two things about double posting.
1. I don't like double posting.
2. It is impossible to double post on this forum :p

But I'll finish what I have of the story in this post. If people like it enough, perhaps I'll continue writing it.

"It's an honor to fight on your side, sir Duran" Collins quickly mentioned as he took a step forward after hearing the explanation of Dale who Duran exactly is. It was a huge honor to for a rookie like Collins to fight side on side with Zane Duran who is known throughout the entire Empire. Even though Tyler Dale is known throughout the entire Empire as well, it is only because of his long service and because he is one of the oldest soldiers. Dale is an experienced soldier, but not as talented as Zane Duran, or ever as talented as him.
"Quit the formalities, Stephan Collins. You have the same rank as I am" the man clearly annoyed mentioned to Collins as he looked at him straight in the eyes, scaring Collins a bit because of Duran's directness. It just didn't make you feel comfortable could clearly be read from Collins' face.
"Who is this you've brought with you, Zane?" Dale asked, clearly not impressed by the rank and popularity of Duran. While asking, Dale clearly and easily pointed past Dale to a man dressed in normal soldier armor.
"Dain Sliverblade. Hot prospect from Anderson's selection" Zane explained, clearly showing that he isn't being impressed by Dale's stature or Anderson's famous name throughout the Empire.
The moment after hearing the name, Collins quickly took a step back again to reach the hearing area of Dale to ask, "Anderson?" showing that Collins didn't know who Andersons is either.
"Anderson is a commander of a certain selection of soldiers, not really a good soldier himself, but an excellent large group leader" Dale explained, not even bothering of keeping it quiet. None of the other 4 soldiers were bothered by the words from Dale.
Commander Anderson, as he is often called, is a man who scouts for soldiers and adds to his own selection. Most of those people he scouts and- places in the Empire grow out to be champions. Tyler Dale, Edgardo Hodges and even Taos Levens are examples of the people he scouted and brought them to the Empire on young age, to train them to the age of what they are now and all of those 'champions' were good assets to the Empire. In terms of leadership, commander Anderson is an excellent leader and does not have many problems of keeping a selection together, regardless of Anderson's old age. Even though Lord Gunthar and Tyler Dale are excellent leaders as well, Anderson is trained in being a leader for armies, in opposite of Dale and Gunthar who are trained in battalions. Anderson isn't the no.1 leader of all generals, but he is the first and only man who has an amazing vision to scout people.
"Anderson believes that he found more talented youngsters in a little brat named, David Tray and this rookie, Dain Sliverbla-..." before Zane could finish his sentence, he was forcefully interrupted by the words of the armor cladded soldier apparently named 'Dain Silverblade'.
"Never judge at sight" Dain mentioned as he walked past Zane towards Dale, Collins, Ezra and Price. Shaking their hands the moment he came in range. "Some people can be more skilled than you think, Duran" Dain mentioned with a stern look on his face, clearly showing that he can live up being in the presence of multiple champions, Ezra, Zane, Terres, Tyler and Stephan are people take note of after all.
"Well, we'll see what will happen with you around, Dain" Ezra mentions with a friendly smile crossing his face, hoping to give Dain a more comfortable place to be. A little nod from the head of Dain was the only answer Ezra got from Dain as he continued his walk towards Price and Dale.
"It is an honor to fight side on side with you, sir Dale" Dain mentioned as he stood in the range of Dale and shook his head. It was clear that Dain wasn't the right man for formalities, his accent was completely different from normal people who are used to be, or are introducing them selves to important people, something that Dain apparently did not know. Or he was too young to know such or he was never taught in it in his younger years. You'd wonder where Anderson picked Dain from. A farm perhaps?
"No, no, the honor is all mine" Dale quickly mentioned after he noticed that a silence was falling over the few people who stood there. "It is an honor for an old veteran like me to fight side on side with a promising soldier- sent by commander Anderson" Dale added to it, just like Ezra, trying to let Dain feel himself more comfortable. All soldiers had a smile ready for Dain except Zane and Collins. Collins only had a few years difference from Dain, and if he was already skilled enough to go with them to find Herasiel, then he must have one load of potential since Collins never got that order to find Herasiel, not even when Taos and Dale were with him. They just found it 'too dangerous' to let him go with them to find someone as strong as Herasiel, and you cannot blame them for saying something like that, but now that the situation is repeating its self, it is remarkable that a rookie is going with them, even though this might be one of the strongest combinations of the Empire that is available. But what is perhaps now more important than the potential rating, is Dain strong enough to keep him self defending from Herasiel. Herasiel is a man that you can't avoid in a small moment and is extremely strong, perhaps even stronger than Taos - who is considered invincible by normal soldiers. But even if he is strong enough to keep Herasiel off of him, is he able to keep up with other champions? Zane Duran is a man with the most skills of the group and perhaps one of the strongest men of the Empire while Collins is the weakest but in no possible way can be considered 'weak' he is just too young to be compared to the veterans that are in the group. Dale is one of the oldest soldiers in the Empire, and because of that, very experienced in many skills and situations, more than Zane. Price is the soldier who is under view of Dale and extremely skilled, just like his master (Dale). Whatever people may say, even without the help of Edgardo, the team is amazingly strong and it wouldn't be surprising to see the odds changing from Herasiel to the Empirical Team. It was no doubt that Taos knew these things when he selected the team to accompany Ezra and Dale, but it was mostly surprising that Taos has sent Dain with the crew while people such as Gerald Letson or Sykes Red didn't got a word of going with them, after all, they are clearly superior than Dain Sliverblade in every possible way, otherwise, they wouldn't gain the title of 'Champion' of their squadron.
"Well, you'll have fun with Dale and the others, Dain, I won't be around" Price suddenly mentioned after hearing the crowd was getting quiet again as he looked to Dain with kind eyes, surprising the entire group except Dale and Zane. Dale knew better than anyone, perhaps even better than Price himself, that he was injured beyond recovery in a short time such as this. Zane, as experienced as he is, could easily see Price struggle to stay standing, fighting not to fall to the ground and cripple of the pain. The attacks that Herasiel used on Price were no joke, and were even hard to take for an Empirical Champion, like Price.
"You aren't?!" Collins and Ezra said, nearly at the same time. The moment they finished their sentence, their look quickly went to each other, knowing that they felt the same way since the emotions in the words could easily be heard above anything else.
"No, I'm too injured to go along... Collins entered the battlefield later and Dale had a short time to rest, I didn't have that" Price softly mentioned, looking a bit sad to the people in front of him, clearly showing that he wanted to go with them, but was just too injured to face Herasiel again in combat. Price was able to do some light training and perhaps a small spar-combat, but Herasiel was really asked too much. Heavy training would already be pushing the limit, but Herasiel is someone with no pity, and would gladly destroy anyone in his path, not caring who it is. It could be Price, but for all he would care, it could also be lord Glodich that he'd face in combat and easily dispose of. Especially with these injures, it would be a huge penalty. "Collins, Dale, fight for me as well, okay?" the blonde man asked as he looked at his two friends while still being a bit wet from the showers he walked through while following Dale not too long ago. With a sad look on Price's face, he had no choice to decline to go with them, it was just too much for him... too much to handle. A little nod from both Collins as Dale was the answer for Price. Price knew well enough that Dale knew that Price couldn't go along, but it would only be considered offensive would he say it with people as Duran next to him.
"Well Price, if you're all that injured, then Dale and Collins should have the same proble-..." before Zane could finish his sentence, he was already interrupted by Dale who started shouting at Zane.
"Oh, be quiet already, Zane. Collins wasn't around most parts of the battle, and I wasn't all that injured" Dale shouted at Zane while everyone knew that Dale was heavily injured as well. The bandage that was bonded around his head could easily say that Dale was badly injured as well. "I have no choice to go with you anyway! Collins doesn't know the real power of Herasiel!" Dale managed to say as well. "I am not exactly sure of Herasiel true potential as well..." Dale pointed out, clearly showing that Price was the only man who knows how strong Herasiel really is. The eyes quickly switched from Dale to Price.
"Is that true, Price?" Ezra kindly mentioned as he looked at the blonde man.
"It is. When Herasiel fled the situation, I followed him and fought him seriously" Price mentioned, clearly pointing out that Herasiel was a lot stronger than everyone thought. "Even though he humiliated me badly, I have respect for his skills" Price managed to say as he looked down to the ground, knowing the best how strong Herasiel really has become. The man was completely amazing with no weakness as far as they could see, but Herasiel knew that as well, he knew that better than anyone. "Herasiel is a man who only shows his true potential when he is excited in combat. He was clearly now exciting when he fought us, the four champions, including Edgardo" Price spoke up, pointing further out how strong Herasiel now is. Not everyone is able to show his true potential only when he fights a strong opponent, because it has as much disadvantages as advantages.
"A type just like me" Zane interrupted Price with, with a smile on his face. "Interesting, to fight a man similar to my own style" Zane continued, showing that he is truly impressed that Herasiel is able to do such a thing, and be still so dangerous like it. Many people fail being able to do it, but those who can do it, often don't have enough potential to back up their own words.
"What do you mean, sir Duran?" Collins asked as he heard the words from Zane just a moment ago.
"Like lord Gunthar, Zane isn't able to pull out his true potential when he doesn't have a worthy opponent to fight against" Dale explained with a friendly smile on his face. "Did you know this, Dain?" Dale quickly changed the subject to ask Dain. Dain easily made a gesture that he didn't know and appreciated it that it was explained as well.
"Exactly" Zane mentioned, as he looked up at the sky, becoming slightly impatient where Muriel was staying to teleport them to an area close to the area they had to be. "If Herasiel is only able to show his potential when he is excited, then he will have his hands full on me" the dark haired man mentioned as he made a fist and lifted it in the sky, showing over flowing confidence from his words. "I'll make it exciting for him!" Zane shouted with a smile on his face and was over flowing with confidence.
"Don't be too confident, Zane" Price softly mentioned as he looked up at the dark haired man. "You are strong, but can you truthfully say that you can defeat me in a few seconds?" Price asked Zane while trying to hide his facial expression from Zane.
"Of course I can't! No one can. Not even Taos can defeat you in seconds, if someone could, you wouldn't be one of the champio-..." before Zane could finish what he was saying, he was interrupted by the words of Terres Price.
"Herasiel can!... no, not only can. He also did" Price shouted out, clearly showing the real strength of Herasiel. "All calculations of Herasiel are wrong!" Price shouted out, showing that everyone underestimated Herasiel, even Taos couldn't give an accurate report about Herasiel, the man is just far too skilled. "As far as we know, Herasiel never shown his real potential in combat with anyone. As far as we know, I am the first he really gave a taste of his true skills! He humiliated me in a matter of seconds!" Price kept shouting, while really knowing that Herasiel was a man not to be compared to people under him, not even multiple people since he would surely be superior. Sending an army at him is something what would be strange, but if this fails, it might be the only idea. Herasiel is a man called 'the Nightmare' and that name is very true. After hearing Price's words, Ezra and Zane could only look like a confused man to Price, they knew all too well that Price would speak the truth. He had no reason to lie after all, and Dale confirmed it.
Dale eyes travelled to the face of Dain, that looked quite surprised after hearing the words from Price. "Don't worry Dain, our forces combined should be more than enough for someone like Herasiel. We are just... with too many skilled people" Dale tried to reassure Dain with, knowing that Dale was right, his confidence increased a bit.

"Aren't you supposed to go already, Taos?" a long haired - placed in a ponytail - girl asked as she walked past Taos. Without looking at each other, Taos could clearly hear who was saying something to her. The girl was dressed in a short chainmail and a huge bow dressed on her back.
"Can I help you, my lady?" Taos formerly mentioned as he stood still, not looking at her. Partly because she was more than a head shorter than Taos but also because she wasn't looking at him either. They just stood next to each other, both looking the opposite way of each other but still listening to each others words.
"'My lady' you say?! Taos! I'm not even twenty yet!" the girl yelled out at him as she turned around and forced him to at her in the face. It was clear the girl was still young, but it was remarkable that she could be found in the royal halls.
"Shhh! Be quiet, Abby!" Taos quickly mentioned after hearing her yell. "This is the royal hall, many people here don't want to be disturbed!" Taos quickly mentioned in a whispering tone.
"Sorry, Taos" the girl named Abby quickly apologized after hearing the words from Taos.
"What are you doing here anyway? Not just everyone can visit the royal halls" Taos softly whispered to her, awaiting for her answer.
"Lord Glodich invited me" Abby mentioned with a nice smile on her face. She clearly knew Taos better than certain other people.
Abby met Taos 6 years ago, when she was brought to the Central Palace 7 years ago, where she could train with multiple other promising archers from the same age and higher. After being there for a short year, she was mostly homesick and could not stand being so far from her parents. Something like that was to be expected from most 13 year old girls and no one blamed her for it. All the girls from her section act like that, it's their nature. Abby on the other hand, was a special case and stayed being homesick for several months, far more than anyone else. Eventually, she met Taos while being homesick who started caring for her because he felt sorry for her. Together with his wife who lived in the Central Palace back then, they helped her overcome her being homesick and eventually started to live the way she wanted. After 4 years more of training, she grew out to be the most promising archer of her age-class. There are more people who are far more skilled than she is, but on her age. But now she is even invited by Lord Glodich himself now, the Emperor; and if that isn't an honor, nothing is an honor.
"Lord Glodich did? Why's that, especially so suddenly?" Taos mentioned as he looked at her with a questionable look. Taos clearly heard nothing about the meeting with Abby and Glodich, even though he just came from lord Glodich.
"What is it that lord Glodich wants then?" Taos enquired, looking confusing to Abby.
"I don't know, I'll find that out when I'm there. But more importantly, how is Tesse?" Abby quickly changed the subject with. Even though she had respect for the question of Taos asking what lord Glodich wants, Abby was also very interested in Tesse Levens, the daughter of Taos Levens.
"I think she's fine. I haven't seen her for a while now" Taos confusingly mentioned, completely surprised she changed the subject so easily.
"You should go to her sometime" she quickly mentioned after Taos, shocking Taos even more. Taos was the master of swords, but not as 'masterful' with words and quickly fails to create an interested conversation.
"I should, but I just don't have the time, Abby" Taos mentioned with pain in his voice. Abby knows that Taos is willing to see his daughter again, but because of his rank, he does not even has the time to make a little trip to visit his family who recently moved from the Central Palace.
"Are you here in the Central Palace all the time?" Abby asked with a questionable look - to both - as a facial expression. Smirking a little bit while she asked, probably intending something behind her previous question.
"Yes, there is no where else I can go" Taos calmly replied, not finding out what her intention is.
"If that is so, then you should visit me more often. Perhaps I can give you some 'special service' if you behave well" the girl suddenly blurted out, clearly visible that she was waiting for Taos to say something like that. Her facial expression changed from a questionable look to a smirking look, taking every advantage of the joke that he could find. It was easy to see that Abby was trying to joke with the mostly serious Taos, but if it would work is the question.
"Abby!" Taos yelled while a little red blush appeared on his face. Taos saw Abby as his own daughter that he should protect whenever he can and heed her from unnecessary things. Hearing such words from the person he sees as a daughter can come as quite a shock to him what was now clearly visible with the red bloshes of Taos.
Abby was not even trying to cover that she was laughing at Taos' reaction and his blush. Even though Abby and Taos lived together for quite a while, it was unexpected to see the mostly-so-serious Taos blush at such a reaction. But even though Taos is mostly serious, a little laugh did appear on his face after seeing Abby laughing fiercely. Even though it was forbidden to make noise in the royal halls, even Taos couldn't hold in his laughter as he looked at Abby who was relaxed about what just happened.
"G... Go to lord Glodich already" Taos quickly mentioned as he quickly increased his pace to the exit as well, hoping to find a place as soon as possible where he can laugh without any limits.
A laughingly Abby quickly nodded in agreement with Taos and waved him good bye as she walked towards the great door of lord Glodich's room.

Only a few minutes before Abby and Taos left each other, Taos could already be found in a small nearby park, placing his weight on a little pole that stook out of the ground, clearly having fun because of Abby. His laughter attracted a lot of attention of an amount of people, seeing as Taos is one of the most known people of the Empire and he is also well known for being a very serious type, not falling quickly for jokes. Seeing Taos laugh like this was a rare sight and not many expected to see Taos laugh this loud in public; at the very most in a pub or at home, but not in a public park. Even though Taos knew that people were looking at him, he could care less about it. For no particular reason, he just couldn't stop laughing. The smile of Abby was such a comfortable smile for him and not only did it make him happy, but seeing her laugh it made Taos laugh as well.
"Taos, are you okay?" a man asked who approached him a moment ago asked.
Taos quickly looked up as he heard someone mention something against him. The tall man was clearly surprised that his sight could take a while to go up, the man who was spoke to Taos didn't have much of a length difference with Taos himself who was bended because of his laughter. The slightly tinted skin and the long black haired that was placed in a pony tail gave quite the ability to guess who it was. The little beard and mustache confirmed it completely.
"Don't worry Gunthar, I'm fine" Taos mentioned, chuckeling over his own words, knowing that there was nothing going on, except that he just couldn't stop laughing. It was not usual to see both Taos and Gunthar together, especially not in a public park. Both men have a huge name in the Empire but most importantly, the reason why they are never seen together is because their skills in battle don't match at all. Gunthar's best skill is his leadership while Taos rather fights on his own, but even though Gunthar is more than excellent in fighting alone as well, his skill is clearly less than the elite champion, Taos. Even though Jason Sharpe is the no.1 of elite champions in general skill, it is Taos who is the most dangerous. The largest penalty that Taos has is his speed. Taos isn't very fast in moving what also gives a lot of crucial penalties, fortunately, Taos has a lot of stamina so he doesn't necessary has to move much to evade. Jason Sharpe can't do anything what Taos does but is close. The largest difference than that Sharpe and Taos has, is Taos' lack of speed and Sharpe's swift and agille movement. Something that is extremely important for a class like that, unfortunately, Taos has a heavy body that not only makes him slower, he isn't very agille either, but what does makes the difference is that Taos is in every aspect of expectations better than anyone, not to mention that he is the best in swordsmanship and defending with only a weapon available - something that Jason Sharpe can't do flawless.
"Let me guess... Abby" Gunthar mentioned as he saw Taos bending his back again because of the laughter. Gunthar knew well enough that Taos and Abby usually got each other laughing, regardless how bad the situation was; it was always funny to see something like that, especially since Taos has a reputation of being a serious man who does not laugh a lot. But now, in the park, with the wind blowing through their hairs, Gunthar could easily see that the "reputation" was everything but true. Taos Levens was perhaps the strongest man with the blade, but far from the best in a normal conversation; famous people never get to rest.
"Yeah, it's Abby" Taos replied with a chuckle in his voice as he saw most people continue their work and lost interest in the laughing Taos. Not before some made a small sketch or a note about it though. Seeing something again could be rare for them, was the opinion of most. Especially since Taos wasn't the kind of man who would quickly mix himself among the people if it wasn't necessary. His huge length and his even bigger sword didn't really give him the best idea to do it either.
"Yeah, I thought so" Gunthar calmly spoke as Taos became calmer and calmer until he was finally back to his old self and stood straight in front of Gunthar again. To surprise of many bystanders, Taos was only an amount inches taller than Gunthar. Though it is easily visible that Taos was taller, it was surprising as it is for everyone to see that Gunthar wasn't too far from it. Knowing that Taos was one of the tallest men in the Empire it gives quite a shock to people. Even though Taos was in the top. 10 of the tallest people, it was still good to see that other people are still growing as well. Especially with Ezra and Gunthar with not too much difference from Taos.
"Now, what is it?" The tall blonde man finally asked as he stopped laughing and finally looked at Gunthar with clear eyes.
"Oh, nothing in particular. I just wanted to ask where I can find Dale and the others" Gunthar calmly mentioned, not showing any form of excitement. "I heard they were going to Herasiel, I'm quite interesting in going with them" Gunthar went on as he looked at Taos with honest eyes, while Taos was one of the only people who could see Gunthar's true intentions, that wasn't just "going with them" as Gunthar said it.
"Sorry" Taos mentioned with a more sad than happy looking face, clearly the face of a man that was apologizing to a friend of his. "I've sent Dale's team on his way already" Taos continued while he made a gesture of that they left. "I don't think you'll have another chance to see Herasiel anymore, so I suggest you'd find a new target to place your interest in" Taos kept talking, while he gave a little hint that Taos should be the new 'idol' or 'target' of Gunthar, even though both knew that they would nearly be equalls in skills.
"Ah, well, then I'll be going back to my squads" Gunthar calmly mentioned, though the fire in his eyes aren't that easily covered just yet. "I was actually feeling like trying my skills to Herasie-..." before Gunthar could finish his sentence, the hand of Taos could be felt on his shoulder.
"I'm sure you'll have a chance similar to it to someone who is as skilled as him" Taos smilingly mentioned while he looked at Gunthar with clear honest eyes. Taos knew that Zane Duran was a ticket of success to fight Herasiel, that was the full reason why he'd picked out Zane out of everyone available. If Herasiel was already injured, than the battle would be over in a short moment, especially with Zane's skills. If Dain, Dale and Ezra could protect the knee of Zane, then the battle would be over in an instant. Even though Gunthar could easily decide the fight with an injured Herasiel better than anyone, it is a fight that you still take chances in. Letting Gunthar fight alone never has been the best idea in history either, even though Gunthar was more than the above average when fighting alone in a battle similar to it. Taos knew better than anyone (or maybe except for Price) how strong Herasiel is, and how little people are seriously equals to him. But now that he is injured on his arm - one of the most critical places for someone who fights with an axe like him - his is clearly weakened and should have his hands full with people like Tyler Dale or Terres Price in terms of skill. In this case, Zane Duran was a perfect ticket to victory and the end of the Nightmare, Herasiel.
"Maybe, but not in the near future" Gunthar answered on Taos as he winked at him and mentioned that is time to go back to his squad and end his conversation with Taos.
"Complain at lord Glodich if you want" Taos mockingly shouted at Gunthar who already made several steps away from Taos. A little backward waving hand of Gunthar was all Taos got as an answer. A little smile appeared on Taos' face as he saw it and finally took his leave from the area as well, leaving to fulfill his orders he got directly from lord Glodich Valentine himself.

---

"He surely is taking his time, isn't he?" Collins softly mentioned as silence fell over the group moments ago already.
"If he doesn't hurry up, Herasiel already left the area!" Zane complained as he was clearly annoyed by waiting for Muriel to transport them already. Dain didn't look too nice anymore either, his teeth were already visible as he was pushing them on each other out of frustration.
"Calm down, I'm sure he'll be here any moment" Price quickly mentioned as he saw the faces of the soldiers getting more stricter at every passing moment.
"I could've gone to Parile for a match now!" Zane loudly shouted, trying to get rid of his frustration. Parile is an arena that can be found everyone in the grand castles. Several teams of rookie soldiers will battle each other to gain the status of a greater soldier if possible. If they win the title of the 'best team' three times in a row, the 'best team' will be promoted to real soldiers. If some of the rookies is doing good enough, they can either get promoted to real soldiers instantly (while the team gets an amount of gold) or they get placed in a continental team that is considered "the elite of rookies", if they are placed there, they usually are under interest of several commanders that are (perhaps) willing to promote them to the real soldiers.
"Parile? Do you like those things, sir Duran?" Dain asked, with a surprised face. Clearly intending of saying something remarkable with it, but not having the chance for it just yet.
"I do, why?" Zane answered, not really understanding what Dain meant as he looked at Dain with questionable eyes, clearly showing that he forgot he was frustrated. Dale made an 'oh well' gesture as he saw what was going on. Parile was the favorite subject of Zane, and when someone would start talking about it, Zane would lose all his worries and easily went into another subject to talk about.
"Maybe you've heard about the team named 'Arcshock'?" Dain asked, with no hesitation in his voice what was clearly heard before that. The moment Dain mentioned 'Arcshock' the faces of both Ezra and Zane changed. It was clear that both of them heard of it. Not too hard to guess what Dain meant with it.
"I do, come to think of it... I remember that the captain of the team was named 'Dain Sliverblade', you don't happen to be-..." before Zane could even finish his sentence, a smiling Dain nodded at the reaction, pointing out that he was the person of that team, the captain of the team. Not just the captain, but also the ace of the team.
"Impressive, so we have the champion of the Parile of last year here with us?" Ezra mentioned, looking impressed at Dain, looking at him with a completely different look than before; as if his entire opinion changed after learning that Dain was the champion of the rookies - by far. A nod of Dain was the same answer as what Zane got from Dain, just like Ezra has.

"Are you guys still here?" a female voice could be heard. Without any hesitation, Dale quickly looked up to see someone standing not too far from him, located between two guards on the second floor of the castle the soldiers stood in front. "You guys should have left by now!" she mentioned, as she looked Dale straight in the eyes.
"Cindise..." Dale muttered as he looked up to her.
"Cindise Coast. Dale, long time no see" she mentioned nearly instantly after Dale start muttering.
"Do you know her?" Price asked as he looked up at the person named 'Cindise'.
"Yes, she was one of the rookies back in the time when I helped commander Anderson. Anderson thinks she will grow out as a champion as well, but she isn't just yet" Dale explained to Price while he stopped looking at her and went with his look to Price.
"Wait a moment, does this 'new' generation only exist out of young champions?" Ezra suddenly spoke up while he hastily looks around, as if he found something very remarkable. "If Abby and Dain here are already on their way to become a champion, then we've suddenly got a lot of talents!" Ezra shouts, knowing that there was something special. More and more young talents seem to stand up and become a champion without too much trouble. Some of the young champions/soldiers are already strong than the veteran soldiers and if Dain here is already ready to go and find Herasiel, then it says a lot, not to mention Abby who has been invitated by lord Glodich, one of the greatest honors someone can get.
"What do you want, Cindise?" Dale finally asked as he looked up to her, clearly wondering what she exactly wanted.
"I was wondering if you could need some help in fighting Herasiel..."

When I think about it, it is pretty clear that Alex is spending more time with Claes than with Laura, I am sure it is because of that experience in that village. It is an experience no one can easily forget, and even if you cannot remember it clearly anymore, it is still a mental scar that will never dissapear. To put it more to ease, I think it is better to talk about it with people. If you can do that, then it will logically, be less problematic. It is also very understandable that Alex isn't going to Laura or anyone else with, for the problem. Even though Claes cannot remember much, or anything at all, from the situation, it is probably best to talk with her about it than anyone else - though the fact remains, I don't know who Cherry is, it is important that I'd visit her eventually as well.
As I was thinking, I could hear a soft melody going through the walls while the moon was slowly rising above the trees near the horizon. It was a beautiful sight, to see the sun going down in respect of the moon that would sparkle at the top of the heavens, looking down on us, mortal humans. With a beautiful melody that was creating the mood around, it was a beautiful sight and a manifest for your ears.
With a little shock, I quickly turned around, the melody was familiar; very familiar. But in opposite of the time I woke up, it wasn't If, and only if... what was it? Why was it so familiar in my ears? I never liked music enough to know many songs, but why did I recognize If, and only if, and now this one as well?
I blinked with my eyes as I tried to listen carefully how the song was played. It was played with a harmonica and it was lacking a few tunes. Just like Claes played the If, and only if song, it lacked a few tunes that weren't very important in it, but you could easily hear a difference between the original song, and the played song by Claes. "Speaking of Claes, isn't she playing this?" I suddenly asked myself as I walked towards the window, to see if someone was outside, playing it. I could hear the melody very clearly, so it isn't far away, but it doesn't necessarily have to be in my sight. More importantly, it is evening as well, the sun has gone down, and the melody was shaping the entire mood for the cool scene in the moonlight. As I looked forward, to the horizon, I just couldn't help but thinking about the strike force I had an invitation from while I listened to the beautiful calm music that was played on the background. I couldn't imagine how she learned the tunes she was playing, but for some reason, both melodies I've heard from that harmonica has been very fitting for the situation I was in - as if she read my mind to learn in what kind of mood I am.
I blinked with my eyes as I tried to find my reflection in the glass window as I saw myself looking quite stunned. Completely dumb-strucked, knowing that I was imagining things that are virtually impossible. I blinked a second time as I turned around, grabbed the book I was reading lately when I had some free time and quickly paged to the page I left it the last time, learning more about the current Empirical Champions such as Taos Levens and Jason Sharpe.

"So, what you are saying is that you found a gap in the defense of Wind?" the Emperor mentioned as he looked at an average sized black haired man in front of him. It was a rare sight to see lord Glodich together with a relatively unknown soldier alone in the throne room. Lord Glodich is usually under sight of at least one Empirical Champion that keeps him safe. Usually it is either Taos and sometimes it is Sharpe.
"Yes, there is a huge opening in the defense. After a lot of studying, it isn't a trap, it is just that she didn't notice" the kneeled black haired man mentioned as he looked as if he just ran a marathon. The man was muscular though most of his body couldn't be seen because of the chainmail that kept most covered. Normally, the too-big cap he wore was covering most of his upper face, but it was easily visible that he had black hair and a small scar on his left cheek. At the moment, he held the cap in his hands as he was still kneeled down on the ground.
"Vincent, if I'd send Sharpe and two other people of your choice with you, would you be able to come back with the necessary information?" Glodich mentions as he starts walking a bit, not to a particular place, but not being able to stand the pressure of standing still while a huge opening as that was opened up.
"Sharpe? Jason Sharpe, my lord?" the man, apparently named 'Vincent', mentions as he looks in awe as he just mentioned the name of his idol. Jason Sharpe, the man who held all champions under his thumb because of his extremely amazing skills. "Yes! Yes, of course I will be able to give the necessary information! I just need the people I trust" Vincent nearly shouted as his eyes started to shine and he looked as if he just won a golden medal. Working together with Jason Sharpe and the permission to command him by lord Glodich was an honor of no limits.
"If the gap is as big as you say, then this might be the end of the Fallen Angels. If that is true, then I am very willing to give you the command of the Empire's most assest" Lord Glodich mentions as he turns back to the younger soldiers, while the Emperor makes another friendly smile, like he usually does. His stuble beard increased a little bit of the last time Vincent and lord Glodich saw each other, but it did not hide the fact it kept him looking nice. "Dale, Duran and others just left to Herasiel, so if you hurry up, you just might find Wind in a good time" the Emperor spoke up as his smile never even for a moment dissapeared from his face. Many people think that lord Glodich isn't taking the wars seriously, as if he was just joking around throughout the time, but it was the complete opposite. If there was at least one man serious during the Empirical wars, then it must be lord Glodich Valentine, the Emperor, the boss of the Empire, the man above all others in command.
"Yes, sir!" Vincent called out, as he quickly stood up, replaced the cap back on his head, greeted the Emperor and quickly increased his pace as he left towards the door. Knowing that he will work with Jason Sharpe in a moment will be more than an honor for him. Working with any Empirical Champion is an honor, but to fight side on side with Jason Sharpe, that was an honor that was beyond belief.

As if it only took a second or two, Vincent opened the door, ran through the hall, and opened the second door to leave the royal rooms. The moment he stepped out of the royal rooms, he heard someone mentioning his name, as Vincent stopped walking, the smile slowly disipated and he took his time to turn around as his lips started to move as he looked the other person straight in the eyes.
"Cristina Merrill..." Vincent softly muttered as he looked her straight in the eyes, knowing all too well who he is dealing with while he sees the gorgeous soldier standing in front of him.
"Cristina Etta Merrill, or also known as 'Melody'" Cristina mentions as he she slowly approached Vincent. "I heard you found a weakness in Wind's defense... is this true?" Cristina softly and smirkingly mentions as she pushes her finger against Vincent as they already stood in each other's arm range. Cristina's blond hair was dropped over her shoulders as she looked at the black haired man in front of her. It was clear that Cristina was older than Vincent, but it would either be in months of time, or a year or two. Whichever it was, they were not much apart from each other in age, and probably not much in skills either.
"Y-Yes, that is true. I just got permission to ask the help of sir Jason Sharpe" Vincent stutterly mentions as the fire regained its strength in his eyes, something that surprised Cristina a bit as she quickly pulled her finger back and made a little disgusted look when she saw the burning flames in the eyes of Vincent. But even though she was surprised about the sudden determination of Vincent, she was not as surprised as Vincent only moments ago when he heard about Jason Sharpe - something that is an honor, even for champions. "I can also bring two other people with me, to my choic-..." before Vincent could even finish his sentence, Cristina placed her finger on the lips of the younger man as she placed her face in kissing range of Vincent.
"I am sure you'll find your necessary help in me..." Cristina softly mentions in a seductive voice while her eyes became smaller, trying to seduce the younger man even more. "But the combination of the grand Jason Sharpe, or the living sword as he is called, the brave Vincent Diaz and the gorgeous Melody, isn't that a grand combination?" the girl mentions as she looked seductive in the eyes of the black haired Vincent, who seemed to walk straight into her intentions.
"Y-Yes, that sounds great" the man mentions, clearly showing that he lost complete control of his body, and only listened to the person who is also called, 'Melody'.
"Yes, yes, yes, that's enough Melody" are the words that opened the real eyes of both humans as a hand pulls Cristina backwards that nearly made her fall, but was easily picked up by the man behind her.
"Murray Hawkins!" Vincent nearly shouted as he looked at the muscular man in front of him. "Am I being visited by celeberties?" Vincent quickly added to it as he looked his eyes out, seeing an Empirical Champion in front of him, and one of the biggest prospects throughout the world. It was unbelievable to see the grand Murray standing in front of him. Murray was a man that had no equal in his skills, no equal at all. After a painful, scarful and more importantly a near death situation, the Empirical Champion's muscles became looser, and the doctors were afraid that they'd become too loose. Apparently, that wasn't the case for the man, and eventually, his muscles became normal again; though there was one large change. Murray was able to move more comfortable and could make movements not just everyone can make. 'Murray Hawkins, the man that has no bones' was something he was often called. Murray became a sword fighter with no equal in combat when you compare his skill to anyone. In terms of technique and strength, Taos is far superior than Murray, but if you look at one special technique, than Murray has no equal. Murray Hawkins, is the only man who can flawlessly, change his attack in mid-air and change it into a completely different attack. Even though several high skilled swordsmen are able to do it too, all of them have flaws in it because it is impossible to make it flawless unless you want to break some bones; Murray that is able to bend his arm as much as he wants is able to change in mid-air and create a completely different attack the same moment he decides.
Together with Cristina Merrill, or also known as, 'Melody', was the perfect assistent for Murray Hawkins as they fight side on side. Though some say that Murray took Cristina in because of her looks and personality, it is known among the more experienced soldiers that that is wrong. Even though Cristina never really showed much potential in battle - she does on training, therefore, becoming a prodigy - she is full of it, only waiting to break it out at the right moment. But because of Murray's swift movements and Cristina's love to dance, they created a movement that no one else will be able to do without a teamwork of such a size. Cristina learned Murray to dance and a dance that can also be called, 'the dance of death' in fairy tales. The dance is slightly adjusted to attacking movements while they can both fight on a certain rhytm. They heard the song they fight on more than enough to memorize everything in their head. If the opponent is of no real importance, the movements can be done with closed eyes without even risking a little bit of your life. The dance has no real weakness since the movements are unexpected. Herasiel would have his hands full on a combination like that, if they would go together to the lair of the tiger, than the situation might even be better, especially with the combination of Jason Sharpe and Vincent Diaz.
Vincent Diaz was a man that was still in training, and was not even close to become an 'A' soldier (champion) and was only somewhere in the middle of the 'B' class with no particular good skill. The only thing Vincent was good in, was finding the weakness of the opponent, just like Herasiel, but both knew, that they were miles away from each other in terms of skill, but therefore was Herasiel world famous while Vincent was just a normal man with no name.

"Well, do you two want to go then?" Vincent bluntly asks as he looks a bit shy to the two who stood in front of him. Named with two official names, 'Cristina Merrill' and 'Murray Hawkins', two soldiers who have made a name by their excellent team work. Their team work is one of the best throughout the Empire because of multiple reasons. Both of them have nothing special to fight with, but Cristina's excellent luring and daring tactics are in complete harmony with Murray's fast and dangerous swings. The prodigy title of Cristina is well fit if you know what she is capable of in training, but it is a shame that she does not show it all in battle.
"Do you even have to ask?" Murray answered with, with a false smile on his face. He clearly showed that Cristina and he were pointing out to go with him. Attacking the base of Wind, while being defended by the great Aurora while you attack with someone like Jason Sharpe is a dream that came true. Jason Sharpe, the best of the best, and Murray and Melody on the sides is a dream that would come true for any soldier. Vincent could not even believe his eyes when he saw them around, asking it fight with him, side on side.
Would the mission succeed, then Vincent would be in one-shot famous, together with a huge increase of the reputation of Melody, Murray and Sharpe. Not that Sharpe actually is in need of a boost in reputation, he is already the most looked up to champion in the Empire.
"Well, if you want Jason to go with you, then you should find him quickly. Jason is a busy man" Cristina whispered to Vincent, trying to keep it a secret from Murray for some kind of reason.
It's not that Jason Sharpe was a man that goes on every missions he gets, but he is a busy man. Being the no.1 of the Empire is something you can't become in just a few days of time. Jason Sharpe fought his way to the top until he reached the final day where he finally could be named as the very 'best', because of that, he has many orders of teaching younger soldiers to get them into the right fight style, to let them fight in their own style. Jason Sharpe was the man with the best tactics and would be superior to every non-champion and the lesser champions.
"I'm on it right away!" Vincent shouted as he jumped a bit into the air and ran like a man on fire, as if it was a cartoon. After seeing Vincent react like this, a friendly smile appeared instantly on both the faces of Cristina as Murray. They knew how happy a normal soldier as him would be to learn such a flaw in the defenses of Wind, and to attack that. While knowing that the famous Aurora would definitely protect Wind was one thing, but with the help of Melody, Murray and Sharpe, he couldn't offer too much trouble.

...right?

"No, you'll stay here, Cindise!" Dale shouted at the top of his lungs. It was easy to see that Dale was getting red out of anger. He didn't want Cindise to go with them, and Cindise stayed stubborn of going with him, regardless of what Dake kept shouting at her. Fighting Herasiel could perhaps be done only once in a life time, fighting him would be a dream coming true for normal soldiers. Even for champions it would be something of unlimited value. Herasiel was the greatest enemy to the Empire and his brother was the second man who would be feared, but his younger brother - Aurora - was someone few knew he could be defeated. None knew if Herasiel could even taste the bitter taste of defeat. Even though he was injured because of Dale's quick reaction last time they faced each other in combat, it isn't something that would guarentee a victory. Many were confident because of Zane's pressence and the experience of Dale, but it would not hide the fact just yet that Herasiel was a powerful man who had to be watched out for, always.
"Come on! It's Herasiel! Herasiel, the Fallen Angel! You can't just leave me here!" Cindise shouted at Dale, pointing out that she wanted to go no matter what. The faces of Price, Ezra and Collins remained quite blank, to see a girl like that being so stubborn to go with them. Fighting Herasiel is an honor, but are you willing to risk honor for your own life? Even with Zane, Herasiel is the strongest man the Empire has ever faced, therefore, the strongest champions has been sent.
"Cindise?" soft, but old words were suddenly spoken as a shadow overlapped the body of Cindise from behind. Without any hesitation, the two long men, Ezra and Zane quickly tried to see who it was, but the lights of the pillars blocked their view.
What was very visible, was the eyes of Cindise who grew larger every second when she saw the older man standing in front of her. Dressed in a light chainmail and brown boots. His red-yellowish cape was hanging on his back and a staff that was nearly the double of himself easily confirmed who it was. His small beard was the last confirmation the people had to have to learn who it was. "Muriel..." Cindise softly mentioned as she looked in awe and complete surprise at him. She knew that Muriel was the one sending the soldiers to Herasiel, but it was not possible to imagine that it was also the same Muriel she would see here, just at the edges of the castle. Seeing Mace Muriel, Terres Price, Tyler Dale, Stephan Collins was an honor that had no equal. Ezra Hodges and Zane Duran also added to it, but just seeing the other four was enough to let your head twist out of excitement.
"You won't go, Cindise, it's as simple as that. I don't have the power to send you too" Muriel softly mentioned as he looked at Cindise with his old eyes. Muriel was a semi-old man who had to drain a bit of his strength everytime he teleports people, especially a larger amount, like now.
"But, sir Muriel! It's Herasiel!" Cindise shouted at him, looking desperate to go with them. Muriel knew just as well how eager Cindise was to fight Herasiel, but how much chance would there be for Cindise to win of Herasiel in combat? Less than 0%, that would be for sure, the chances that she'd survive even with the help of five champions would be something to doubt.
"You won't go, I make no discussion of that." Muriel completely finished the conversation with as he moved his head towards the soldiers who still stood at the same position. "Dale, others, are you ready?" Muriel asked as he already saw that Price was out of the list.
A confirming nod was all Muriel was in need of as a huge teleport circle appeared both under and above the five champions as they could feel their pressence being transported from their bodies, to be placed elsewhere. A feeling that was impossible to imagine unless you felt it. It was as if something was pulling your spirit from your body, and placing it elsewhere, together with your body. That was Muriel's power, to teleport people.
"Good luck, soldiers..."

There. That should do it.
When people go to the story section, they have something to read :p Together with JetPack's story, it fills the section up a bit.
If you actually got this far, then I hope you enjoyed it.

Any comments on it, is appreciated, though I must admit that I can't really remember what I wrote in the story. I'll have to read it myself some time if I would have to continue ;)

If there are any questions about it, feel free to ask it. Most characters that have been introduced in the story have a detailed history, though not all characters that have been introduced - not to mention that the characters that has been introduced, isn't even half of who played a large role in that world. Edgardo Hodges as example, is not one of the main characters, and does not have a detailed history to fall back to, when I don't know something.
If I remember correctly, Edgardo dies somewhat early in the 'If, and only if' story, but that does not mean that the non-main characters all eventually will die and that main characters will stay alive.

But by all means, any comments?

That's good to hear. I'm glad someone's brave enough to actually read it :p

Be for warned that the story doesn't end though. I never managed to finish it.

EDIT: Hunter, I typed that all when I was back at Wc3c. I copied it from the Wc3c thread. I am the original author in every way you look at it though =)

How did you get is from wc3c? Isn't it dead?
[/b]
Wc3c used to be dead :p It's indeed back now. But I saved it in a txt. document as well, for if I wanted to continue some time.

But I am pretty sure I copied it from the thread to Anvil. When Wc3c was dead, you could still browse the forum, but not post anymore, if I recall.

Bah, i dont know, as soon as Wc3c got its so called "update" (which I call "downdate") I lost my acocunt and seeing you couldn't register, and I couldn't tell anyone that I had lost my account, it was pointless. I'll make this my new Wc3c.

P.S. Fladian, stop posting, because I only stop posting when no one else is posting, but your posting, which makes me post! I want to leeeeaaaave! :wtf:

EDIT: Nevermind, I'm bored, keep posting.

I still got my account at Wc3c. Though that is not very surprising. I still got the reputation as one of the members that has a big post count.

And Hunter, I only stop posting when I either go to bed, when something else gets my interests or when people stop posting, so you won't see me stopping. The movie I'm watching isn't too interesting, so...
I was thinking of continueing my latest story, but... well, I can't. I don't know how to continue. But it will definitely be my last 'quality.'
