Yesterday Nintendo released a tremendous strong halv year report who shows that
the company have more than doubled their turnover and their profit compared to the same
peroid last year. Remember that Wii hadn't been released at that time,very impressive
although and it shows that the Wii already makes a great contribution to the profit.
They also released a compilation on how their past consoles have sold (untill september
2007)
Gameboy Advance
consoles sold : 80,48 million copies sold (16,73 in Japan, 41,65 in America and 22,1 in
the rest of the world)
Games sold : 372,62 million (72,59 in Japan,213,44 in USA and 86,60 in the rest of the
world )
GAMECUBE
consoles sold : 21,66 million (4,02 in Japan,12,88 in USA and 4,76 in the rest of the
world)
Games sold: 207,74 million (27,47 in Japan, 137,78 in USA and 42,48 in the rest of the
world)
NINTENDO DS
Consoles sold : 53,64 millions(19,71 in Japan, 16,06 in USA an 17,88 in the rest of the
world)
Games sold: 259,48 million (95,13 in Japan, 82,42 in USA and 81,93 in the rest of the
world)
WII
Consoles sold : 13,17 million (3,67 in Japan, 5,46 in USA and 4,04 in the rest of the
world)
Games sold : 65,81 million (11,9 in Japan,33,49 in USA and 20,43 in the rest of the
world)
This is Nintendos own officiall numbers and they will not mix up with independent
measurement about the storesales.
Nintendo calculates that they have sold 17,5 million copies of the Wii the 31 march
2008.
Thinking of the christmas rush there surely will sell much more.
