Just to be clear, I'm not really what you would call an avid rap/hip-hop fan. I'm more of the Slipknot, Chimaira and Rise Against sort of guy. Mostly it's caused because most mainstream rap is absolute bullshit made to please some corporate prick as he lies back on his yacht.
On the other hand, there are artists like Talib Kweli who actually make music, for the sake of making music. Basically he's everything that rap should aspire to be. Check him out if you want something decent.
