Older consoles vs. HD TV?

I'm having trouble connecting my N64 to my spiffy new HD flatscreen tv.
Can anyone tell me if I should just give up and buy a seperate tv for my older consoles or if there's still a way for this to work?

If its anything like my HDTV, you can put the Yellow in the Green, and then Red and White as normal.

Does yours come out with color when you do that? Mine displays the video but it's black and white.

Sorry, I tried it on another TV and it didn't work. I guess its a special feature my TV has.

But you can always try to find an S-Video or Component Cables if there isn't a single Y/R/W connection. I haven't tested it, but apparently Gamecube component cables will work, so shouldn't be that hard to find some.

I have had the same trouble, but in the end. I sold my n64

I do not have this problem with my Hd.Tv
Maybe search around on the internet ?

Just check the back of your tv to see if it has the RGB wires in the back. Most of the HD tv sets today accommodate the older tech from what I've seen. Even my set can still hook up that old stuff if I so chose to.
