If Future Publishing has its way, gamers over in the UK may get a sneak peek at the footage in Rockstar's Manhunt 2 (Wii, PSP, PS2), a game currently banned in the said region.

The publication has sent word that it's recently sent copies of its planned cover discs for PSM3 issue 96, and PlayStation World issue 103, to the British Board of Film Classification (BBFC).

The cover discs for each magazine are expected to carry footage of Manhunt 2's M-rated release in North America, although the publication did not disclose what sections were taken from the game. Interesting to note as well is the fact that Rockstar Games hasn't given Future the permission to publish the game.

Future Publication was also guarded with regards to how they would ensure that readers falling below the age requirement to be imposed by BBFC would be prevented from attaining the disc. That's all the details available at the moment - do check back in case we receive any updates regarding this topic.

From what reviews I've read they've butchered the sequel so much to get it passed as M that it's not worth buying.

What I don't get is why the AO rating in America is so bad. Fair enough, chain stores like Wal-Mart, GameStop etc will not stock it meaning it's going to be impossible to sell through retailers, but with the potential profits to be made would it not be worth them setting up their own distribution chain, even if it just means folks could buy online through mail-order instead?

Better selling a good game online than a rubbish one everywhere. Better yet, why not sell both? Manhunt 2 in Wal-Mart and Manhunt 2: Uncut from RockstarGames.com (or wherever).

Sorry that's a bit OT.
