so after getting combat arms installed and finally working i find after 10-20 minutes of play (not sure on specifics) the game just exits to desktop without an error. my temps are fine when this happens.
i've done virus and spyware scans, defragged and disk error checked, updated video drivers, closed and disabled every process and service not needed to run with the help of gamebooster, tried every "run in compatability mode" option, tried messing with my graphic settings, uninstalled deleted folder and reinstalled multiple times, disabled windows firewall, tried underclocking my video card to stock speeds since it comes factory overclocked, cried myself to sleep, pleaded with god, disabled sound, and scoured the internet for solutions.
can't think of anything else i've tried but yeah i've been trying for a while to fix it, nothing has an effect. my system specs are

p4 3ghz winxp pro sp2 dx9.0c
forget motherboard brand but p4v88 is model
dual channel 2gig crucial ddr ram
geforce 7600 gt 512meg forceware 190.38 (yes this is my aging agp system :( )
250gig 7600rpm hdd
500watt antec psu
belkin n wireless usb network adapter
onboard sound -_-

First off thanks for posting your system specs, and high five for using a AGP video card (My CA machine also using the same card.)
Well it seems you've tried alot of things,
Try look at the nexon forums to see if someone else has had this problem, and while you there submit a support ticket.
One other thing is if your running SP2 Windows XP, try upgrading to SP3 (how ever i doubt thats the problem)

I can't really think/guess why this is happening.
Hope this helps anyways.

north america, still waiting on sp3 to finish dling so i can update. hopefully that will somehow do something positive.

one thing i had noticed was most if not all of the people with very close if not identical problems all had winxp sp2.

go to canyourunit.com and find it on the list (most games are on there) and it'll tell you if all your hardware is up todate, and it'll also tell you if you need to update your drivers. It cant hurt to check it out.

Well one more long shot, how your internet connection ?
usually if your internet failed it would give you a error message.
When you reinstalled, did you re download the setup file ?
In the past i've had problems with a specific setup file, so i re downloaded the setup and it worked.

I dunno what the problem could be.

nah internets not disconnecting. i didn't redownload it this time but i've downloaded 3 in the past, once with the downloader and twice without. yeah i'm pretty stumped on what it could be.

Had the same issue. Downloaded Malwarebytes from filehippo.com and cleared it up for me. You already stated you ran AV/AS programs and cleared unneeded processes but thats what worked for me.

well i have an unused vista key so i'm going to get my hands on a copy and make a vista installation. if it won't run on vista it HAS to be some hardware issue, if it does run it was something with software. atleast i'll have some clue.

yeah i ran malwarebytes and spybot :(

Usually vista has more problems than XP especially with hardware
You might be better off reinstalling XP....

Don't quote me on it tho.

well i dualbooted a copy of vista sp2 and sure enough game doesn't crash anymore. all i installed were my networking drivers so i'll be installing drivers/programs one at a time and seeing if maybe one of those was the culprit.

guess i'll have xp for things that refuse to work in vista, or when memory is a factor.
