i think you can use any old USB keyboard...

Do normal keyboards work on the wii? or will it need some kind of software update?

i would like to see a new wii mote that has a usb bit on it so you can plug it into your wii and then it charges you wii mote

it would if they made a new wii mote that had a lithium battery, and maybe a little cable so that it connects to the wii when you want to charge it.

You can connect a keyboard and use that in the Internet channel I think.
(Haven't bought the Internet Channel yet - but an upgrade message sayd something about that)

The usb slot is useful for connecting a keyboard to the wii so you don't have to point at each individual letter on a virtual keyboard with the wiimote. I'm definitely using one when i get it.

If they didnt put one on, that would be pretty bad, I mean now you can charge things through them, and maybe in the future nintendo will make a headset so you can talk to people over wifi.
