What's with BluRay?

I want to get a blu ray DVD player, but then I'll have to buy all my movies over again, and I want to know if it's a good buy. I already have a HDTV and a fairly decent dvd/vhs player. Can someone tell me what makes it better, and if I should just buy a PS3.

nah jus buy a dvd player which upscales to 1080i and use a hdmi cable so no blue ray is needed

I initially bought my PS3 as a future bluray play, but even after a year I have yet to play a bluray movie on it. I've basically gone to digital distribution since its cheaper, faster and more convenient, and it makes the PS3 still useful.

But if you really want a bluray player, get the PS3, especially if you don't have a current gen system besides the wii. That way you get high quality movies, and good quality hidef games.

yep i agree with sousanator but still there is a sony upgrade to HD dvd player in play.com for 50quid i think

Yeah,I'm going to go with gunner, because then I don't have to buy all my movies again, and I already have an Xbox360
