Is pre-ordering really necessary?

i really don't think that pre-ordering any games is necessary at all, games rarely sell out first day and if they do you could still probably get the game within the same week

I don't no. Only for big releases then I'd think about it, like if I owned a 360 and was getting GTA, that might sell out? But for little games, mostly all wii games, I wouldn't.

I pre order games because in game stores they give you double reward points and so i know im guaranteed a copy.

Oh forgot to explain, its a card you get off the store and with every item you purchase from the store you get points and they can be used to get money off stuff...

Im sure they do, cause there used to be a eb over here and i had a card with a points system.

EB Games & Gamestop are the same thing. But yeah, for $15, you can get a magazine subscription for a year and a 10% more on used trade ins and 10% less on buying a used game!

my shop has that system too. don't think it's GAME though... preordening isn't necessary and most often it cost money and worst case scenario, you have to wait about 2-3 weeks.
