go to your router's home and press Security Setting you could change your security there..

Yeah as above, the DS should be compatible with any router, as long as there is wifi signal then it will pick it up.

Also double-check that your DS has not picked up a duplicate IP address.
You should be able to access the range of used IP Addresses through the web page of your router (On a homehub its \api.home ) and check that each item connected as a unique IP.

my router's too new for my DS aswell and ive been trieing for months to sort it out
it'd b safer buying a usb port, thts what im doing

Have you tried different channel's on you're router? You can chose from 1 to 12. And i know at least wii is finicky about that.
