"August 11, 2007 - SEGA's long lost Mega Drive game, Golden Axe III, which was only ever released throughout Asia and in recent compilations on Sony platforms, is set to finally make its individual debut in the West on Nintendo's Virtual Console later this year.
The Office of Film and Literature Classification has rated the game for entry to the service, along with Streets of Rage 3 and Super Thunder Blade."

    WooHoo!!

"The OFLC has rated three new Genesis games for the VC. Streets of Rage 3, Super Thunder Blade, and Golden Axe III are all slated to hit the Wii. The big deal comes with Golden Axe III. Originally, that game was only released throughout Asia. It was included in future compilation releases, but the original didn’t travel as much. With this new rating, do we have a confirmation that all territories will start to see VC games that never made it to their respective regions? On the other hand, maybe we are getting Golden Axe III simply because we have the ability to download I and II. Let’s hope the answer is the first explanation!"
