Another thread about the DSi

I'm thinking of getting one from ebay, but I'm worried that, because it's a japanese game system, it won't play U.S. games. Is this true?

It's region free so US games will still work.

But the actual DSi menus and settings will be all be in Japanese (there's no English setting as far as I'm aware). And you will not be able to use Nintendo Points cards from US on the DSi as those are region specific, along with all the downloaded games, including demos.

So in short, you're better off waiting till spring to get the US DSi or else you wouldn't be able to use any of the new features efficiently.

That's what I meant when I said downloaded games.
The shop channel will definitly be region locked

Or just disregard it completely and get a DS Lite.

Yeah, I wouldn't spend money on a ds lite when a new one is coming out, unless you wanted to play guitar hero.

Yep, that's what I was trying to say. One game probably isn't enough for some people not to buy a new series.
