K4ge’s little helper Version 0.6

Since you guys requested something like a little beginners guide for Heroes, I thought it may be nice to write a ‘K4Ge’s little helper’.
I will try to explain the most common things, but please don’t expect me to go in every detail.
You should be fine with the basics.

Feel free to suggest more things you would like to see in this guide.

Battlefield Heroes:
Battlefield Heroes or in short terms here in the forums just ‘Heroes’ is a new step with the Battlefield franchise, it is mostly aimed at casual gamers or gamers who like a funny, cartoony, not too serious gameplay. It is not made to replace previous Battlefield titles, like Battlefield2
In Heroes we have two factions fighting on the virtual battlefield against each other:
The ‘National Army’ and the ‘Royal Army’.

You can create up to four Heroes and it is currently NOT possible to delete them.

Factions:
Both faction are technically equal, they might use other weapons, but the match the foe’s weapons technically.
So for example the heavy machinegun of the National Army does the same damage as the heavy piece of the Royal Army.
The only thing the factions are different in is the way they look, so you will recognize them by their apparel, the way they walk and so on.
You can easily recognize your friends by their names written in blue above their heads and the big blue cross when you aim at them.
Every faction has three different classes.

The Classes:
The three different classes in Heroes are the ‘Gunner’; the ‘Soldier’ and the ‘Commando’
Every class has his special features but they all have some things in common.
They all can carry two weapons and one explosive against vehicles or careless infantry.
They all are able to use every single vehicle type and they all have abilities, but the abilities are different with every class, except for the Bandage and the Wrench ability.

The Gunner:
The Gunner is the heavy weapon guy, he has more health then the other classes and carries the BIG guns, like the anti tank rockets and machineguns, machineguns are the most effective weapons in close range fights.
He is the slowest of the Heroes, but he has the most health.

His Abilities are:
Frenzy Fire – Your machinegun becomes more accurate on a higher range, so you become more efficient on medium or long range fighting for a short time.

Hero Shield - You can shield yourself up and take no damage until the shield is destroyed.

Explosive Keg – With Explosive Keg you can throw an exploding barrel at the enemy to blow them away and set them on fire on the last ability level.

Leg It – You and your mates around you will run faster for a period of time.

I Eats Grenades – You will eat every explosive thrown at you by the enemy and heal yourself up with every eaten one, for a period of time.

The Soldier:
The Soldier is the all-rounder in Heroes; he can be played as a supporting class but also can do a lot of damage to his enemies.

His Abilities are:
Blasting Strike – You will push every enemy and empty vehicle away sending them sky high and damage them a bit, try to blast them into walls or buildings to get some extra damage.

6th Sense – 6th sense will help you and your nearby team mate to see every enemy through buildings and walls, for a period of time.

Burning Bullets – The bullets from your SMG start burning and do extra damage to the enemy, if you hit an open vehicle you will ignite all enemies riding in it.

Combat Medicine – You will heal the teammates around you and yourself, the more teammates you heal the more health will you receive for yourself. And you also get points for healing teammates.

Grenade Spam – You spam multiple grenades at your enemy with one throw, but be aware that as soon as you switch to this ability is will be activated and the cool down starts as soon as you switch away from it, even if you didn’t throw the grenades.

The Commando:
The Commando is the sneaky class in Heroes, he is not made for an direct close combat assault, but he is a really good supporter from far away.
He is the quickest of the heroes, but has the less health.

His Abilities are:
Elixir- You will run faster for a short time, able to sprint away from enemies who are getting to close and it will deploy a weak shield that absorb a small amount of damage.

Mark Target – You can mark a single target so your team can see its position through houses and walls, for a period of time.

Stealth – You become invisible to the enemy until you shoot or they get too close.

Poisoned Blade – You can put a lethal Poison on your knife’s blade and do extra damage to the enemy you are attacking.

Troop Trap – You can put down an explosive trap for enemy troops. Kaboom… surprise!

Piercing Shot – Give your sniper rifle some extra damage for a period of time, really good combined with head shots.

Abilities:
Every class has their own unique abilities; abilities can be compared to skills in other games.
It is a special effect which gives your Hero, or in some cases the whole team a mostly time based advantage.
You can upgrade your abilities with Hero Points in five different steps.
To upgrade an ability click on the little plus [+] button next to it.
As soon as you learned a new ability you need to ‘drag and drop’ it into your equipment bar (the one with the weapons etc. in it), so you will able to select the new ability ingame by pressing the key assigned to the slot.

Widgets:
Widgets are special items that require replacement based on either time or player use.
You can find them in the Store under the Widgets tab.
In Heroes you can find the following widgets:

Bandage:
Heals your Hero for an amount of health, this widget stops working when you take damage or enter a vehicle.

Wrench:
With wrench you can repair the vehicle you are driving for an amount of hit points, wrench stops when you leave the vehicle or the vehicle take damage.

XP Boost:
You get extra bonus experience as long as this widget is active.

VP Boost:
You get extra bonus VP as long as this widget is active.

Hero Points (HP):
Hero Points are those points you need to upgrade your abilities, you get them on every straight level (2, 4, 6, 8 etc.).
With every single Hero Point you can update an ability or unlock a new one if you haven’t unlock them all already.
So Hero Points are basically the skill points that help you to get your Hero ‘pimped’.

Valor Points (VP):
Valor Points are the Points to get items like weapons and some clothing items from the store.
You earn them, the easiest way by competing mission, but you also get them for just playing, during a round every team can get Valor Points, but fight hard, the winning team mostly gets more.

Battle funds (BF):
Battle funds are the point you can buy all the cool cloths and emotes with, but you can also purchase experience or Valor Point multiplier.
But you won’t be able to buy weapons or other things that give you a direct advantage on the battlefield.
You will be able to purchase Battle funds with many payment methods.

I am not sure, have not tried it yet myself, but apparently for commandos you can place a troop trap and shoot it and use it to jump higher to places for sniping :D
