SILENCERS ARE A CRITICAL MOD! I'm the type of player that is constantly getting behind enemy lines and killing unsuspecting enemies. As most players in this game are not very good, catching whole teams by surprise (killcam off) with a silenced L9/G36 has grabbed me a significant number of my killstreaks. As a former and VERY long time counter-strike player, I know just how IMPORTANT sound is. Veteran FPS players can track the movement of an enemy very easily from footsteps, tracers, and especially gunfire. Nothing is more annoying than firing off a unsilenced L9 on Snowvalley and having every enemy assault rifle turn in your direction, not to mention the hail of grenades that you just asked for. Though tracer fire still reveals your position, even with a silencer, the enemy has to be looking in your direction to get any information from it. An unsilenced shot transmits your position in 360? and through obstacles. The reduction in recoil makes weapons like the G36 seem completely unbalanced, which in my opinion is a weapon that is too powerful, too accurate, and too easy to spray with (which is good for me since I use it). Though silencers reduce damage, the G36 in particular, doesn't seem to be much affected since it's already overpowered. Reasons to buy a silencer: 1) It's CHEAP 2) It dramatically increases your lifespan in almost every firefight 3) It allows you to sneak behind enemy spawns and one-shot with relative ease (killcam off) 4) It allows you to miss a shot or two (from behind the target) without alerting the target. Reasons not to buy a silencer: 1) Slight damage reduction Conclusion: Buy a damn silencer
