I have a full 5.1 surround set up plugged into my computer and I have a Line 6 POD XT. Now here's what I do: Digital out into my computer -> My sound output is automatically processed from Stereo to 4.1 via 3D spacial processing (think a chorus effect that doesn't phase) -> Canton speakers (look them up; They're made my Germans).
I play a Washburn X50 with EMG 60/81.
Oh I know some of you will be all "Bah, digital." I agree, but for playing around with tones, you can't beat it. I have a F50 tube amp for real tone.
BTW Its all 24-bit digital, my stereo amps (2x analog Harmon/Kardons.. they don't support surround by themselves).
